Ch.257257. The Abyss Sea (2)
by fnovelpia
I organized my checklist before entering the Abyssal Sea.
I’ve fully upgraded the Chaos Stone Purification Cauldron as much as possible.
I’ve raised my level to 60.
Though levels aren’t that important since the main quests shower you with farming stat points, I still collected those small bonuses.
Now all that’s left is item setup and achievement point allocation.
I spent quite a bit of time on these.
Using achievement points can be done in a day.
With 35 achievement points in hand, spending them is easy.
There are plenty of effects I can’t buy due to lack of points, but having them makes for enjoyable shopping.
This time, I focused on selecting map effects that would help in combat.
With so many achievement points, I could afford to choose combat options rather than just production-related ones.
Among them, I found a map effect that doesn’t consume many achievement points but still helps combat ability.
[Lv1] Maximum Mana +10%
“Wow… such a valuable option.”
Normally, I wouldn’t have given this map effect a second glance.
Just 10% maximum mana.
For someone like me who considers magic abilities secondary and focuses on melee weapons, it’s an ambiguous combat option that’s hard to classify. But not anymore.
With my Purified Ice Spirit Liquor, this 10% maximum mana provides more than just a 10% damage boost.
I purchased it for just 5 achievement points, which was quite affordable.
Though expensive, since it’s not just a production-related map effect, the price seemed reasonable.
[Lv2 Experience Required: 2 Achievement Points]
.
.
.
Since the cost for leveling up wasn’t different from other map effects, I immediately spent 19 points to reach level 5, then used the rest to reach level 7.
[Lv7] Maximum Mana +50%
My mana has increased to the point where adding more seems excessive, and the Purified Ice Spirit Liquor has boosted my skill effects and final damage to ridiculous levels.
At this point, I could probably one-shot everything in a level 10 biome in the Farming World.
As long as my weapon’s attack power is decent, my sub-settings are perfect.
But I wasn’t satisfied with just that.
My items still weren’t perfect.
Attack power? I can boost it endlessly with Purified Ice Spirit Liquor, but my defense is still vulnerable.
One SSS+ defensive ability isn’t enough.
So I changed my setup a bit.
For accessories, I equipped [Purified Ice Spirit Liquor], [Glass Stone Ring], [Sacred Ring], [+2 Corrupted Ring], [Mana Stone Ring], and [Amplification Necklace] – six items total to maximize mana boosting. For armor, I purified and enhanced the Corrupted Ogre Leather Armor Set.
After using my enhancement stones on some accessories, my stats didn’t increase that much, but I achieved satisfactory results in terms of defense and attack power.
“Let’s go.”
Now that preparations are complete, it’s time to enter the sea.
Team Leader Kim Jin-hyeop just informed me about the outside news.
I packed my bags with a grin, thinking about the interesting things that might happen when I return.
“Oppa. Don’t die. Make sure to eat properly.”
The final stage of setup.
SSS+ level alchemy and SS grade cooking.
Kim Su-jung packed enough food with buff effects to last four days, and Lee Ji-hyun prepared a pouch full of potions. Everyone was looking out for me.
And so, at the edge of the Abyssal Sea,
I threw myself into the crimson emerald waters.
————————-
Walking on the seabed felt strange.
Using the nature magic skill “Mana Breathing,” I could breathe comfortably and move freely by dispersing the water’s resistance with mana.
The chaotic energy no longer posed a significant penalty to me.
Having made all preparations perfectly, I felt at ease even in this level 7 deep chaos biome.
Looking around comfortably, I found the deep sea truly beautiful.
I don’t think I ever leisurely explored underwater like this when playing Farming World.
When playing, I was more of an efficiency-chaser than a romantic.
Though I did indulge in personal touches like decorating my farm, my rational nature meant I never understood why people would dive into ocean biomes just to admire natural scenery.
But now that I’m here, my perspective has changed.
This kind of experience would be hard to buy.
Others would probably find it worth every penny.
It seemed like the perfect snorkeling program to sell as an SVIP experience.
As I pondered this,
The deeper I went, the darker it became, and I could sense fish circling around me.
Not ordinary fish.
These creatures, infused with deep chaotic energy, moved quickly and stealthily, waiting for the opportunity to devour me from my blind spots.
When I briefly lost focus and fixed my gaze on one spot.
Swish-
I sensed something behind me.
I dodged with a leap, and a large fish passed by, its mouth wide open where I had just been standing.
“Is that a Deep Sea Cleaner?”
Countless fish live in the sea.
Naturally, even for someone like me,
Someone who’s devoted their life to Farming World, I can’t memorize the names of all marine creatures.
But I do know the names of most monster-related ones.
Especially expensive fish.
Dangerous monsters.
You can’t help but know these things even if you don’t frequent ocean biomes.
Deep Sea Cleaner.
Its body has grown much larger due to the deep chaotic energy, averaging 2-3 meters in size. It’s known for moving quietly and charging with surprising speed for its bulk.
Normally, you don’t need to worry about these when entering the sea, but when diving into the deep sea for resources, you’re always told to watch for signs of Deep Sea Cleaners. This is why.
Whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-
It swims at tremendous speed, sucking in everything in its path, not just its target.
You can’t escape by simply running in a straight line; you need to move vertically or diagonally to avoid its path.
If you have the reflexes for that, it’s not particularly difficult to deal with, but if not, this mindless creature that devours even seawater becomes pure stress.
Especially concerning is that these creatures always travel in pairs.
Swoosh-
If you dodge upward, another one sweeps from below.
And when you dodge that one, the first one attacks again.
Though their attacks are simple charges, they’re notoriously tricky, earning them the title of “Gatekeepers of the Deep.”
I drew my Light Demon Sword.
Dodging one by one, I waited for the moment when both overlapped and struck with a leap.
Slash-
The miracle of two fish becoming four occurs.
“…Hmm.”
I looked at the cleanly cut Deep Sea Cleaners.
That was easy?
I’m not just saying that – I feel almost embarrassed about all the spec upgrades I did.
In the Ore Vein Mountains, my damage always felt slightly insufficient, which is why I went all out with buffs and spec improvements.
But here, I just sliced through two Deep Sea Cleaners like tofu.
These creatures are among the weaker ones in the sea.
But they still have high health and fairly tough defenses.
“If this were Farming World, people would be talking about balance issues.”
Well, it’s just a case of well-utilized item combinations within the design, so it wouldn’t have been nerfed.
People would just be asking where to get Purified Ice Spirit Liquor.
With the difficulty of the Abyssal Sea reduced,
As my tension eased, I finally noticed the numerous glittering resources in the deep sea.
“Sea resources are quite rare… can I handle all this?”
Even in Farming World, ocean resources were extremely difficult to obtain, and I remember spending a long time farming the sea even in the endgame.
“Wait a minute.”
Among the countless glimmers,
One jewel shining more brilliantly than the rest caught my eye.
