Ch.256[Chapter 256] Lord Dominic of Wonderland
by fnovelpia
Sir Dominic drank warm milk as prescribed, ate four bear-shaped jellies, put on sleep socks, and went to bed for a nap.
Alice ate all the remaining bear-shaped jellies before going home.
With the curtains drawn, the room was quite dark.
In the darkness, Sir Dominic became increasingly comfortable under the cozy blanket.
Finally, his blinking eyes closed completely, and he fell into a deeper and deeper sleep.
Deep enough to dream.
…
Sir Dominic realized he was in a troublesome situation, though he didn’t know where he was.
A tentacle made of spaghetti had grabbed his ankle and lifted him upside down.
“What on earth is happening?”
Sir Dominic couldn’t understand the situation at all.
Of course, many incomprehensible things had been happening lately, but imagine someone who was comfortably sleeping at home suddenly being captured by spaghetti noodles in a dense jungle.
If the person speaking doesn’t understand it, how would the listener feel?
Sir Dominic thought he should escape this difficult situation first.
He cut the spaghetti noodle with a sword that had somehow appeared in his hand.
The spaghetti noodle fell to the ground, spilling red arrabbiata sauce from within.
The remaining part of the spaghetti noodle sprayed arrabbiata sauce into the air as if in pain, then swung its thick tentacle… noodle toward Sir Dominic who had caused it such agony.
Sir Dominic raised a shield he somehow had.
With a clang, an enormous impact transferred to Sir Dominic.
Sir Dominic stepped back twice and raised his shield again toward the tentacle.
“This won’t be easy.”
Sir Dominic wiped the arrabbiata sauce that had splashed onto his cheek with his thumb and tasted it.
He grinned as he looked at the spaghetti tentacle with its tremendous strength and flexibility.
The sauce was delicious.
“Hey, you know.”
Just as Sir Dominic was in a strange standoff with the spaghetti noodle, someone appeared from behind him, through the purple-leaved bushes.
“I’m hungry. Would you mind sharing?”
Sir Dominic looked at the newcomer.
It was a girl with a two-head-tall body that only reached Sir Dominic’s knees, though with her horns she was about three heads tall.
She wore a blonde wig, which Sir Dominic recognized as a wig because purple real hair was visible underneath.
The combination of her flowing dress in blue and white with a large ribbon was the epitome of cuteness.
Sir Dominic looked back and forth between the rampaging spaghetti noodle and the young girl, then nodded.
“Very well. But wait while I catch it. If you’re not careful, you might get—”
Sir Dominic was about to advise the girl to stay safe after giving his permission.
That is, if the girl hadn’t suddenly fired a beam of tremendous power.
The amazing beam passed right next to Sir Dominic, who could feel the incredible heat and energy just from being close to it.
When the beam finally disappeared, Sir Dominic turned his head to look at where it had been fired.
The beam had carved a massive path through the forest, and where it had hit a mountain, it had created a tunnel that would make passage convenient.
It was truly incredible destructive power.
“Impressive.”
Sir Dominic first expressed admiration at this amazing sight.
Although Sir Dominic had often seen demons shooting beams like this, he had never seen one with such tremendous power.
However, regardless of Sir Dominic’s admiration, the girl was poking at the spaghetti noodle with a frown.
“It’s burnt…”
The girl looked tearfully at the blackened noodles that crumbled and scattered.
It was a matter of too much firepower that had completely burned the spaghetti noodle.
It would have been fine if she could lower the power of the beam, but unfortunately, this girl didn’t know how to reduce her power below this level.
Sir Dominic looked at the girl and wondered what to do.
He didn’t know why such a strong girl was in this forest, but no matter how strong she was, his chivalry wouldn’t allow him to leave her here alone.
At that moment, an appropriate sound came from Sir Dominic’s stomach.
The growling sound of a hungry stomach.
“Are you hungry too?”
The girl looked up at Sir Dominic and asked.
Since the girl only reached Sir Dominic’s knees, she had to look up quite a bit.
Sir Dominic worried if her neck hurt, looking at her large head with horns as big as her body.
“Let’s search the area and see if there’s anything edible.”
Sir Dominic said to the girl.
“Okay.”
The girl nodded at Sir Dominic’s words.
As soon as he thought that, Sir Dominic found himself under a tree full of baumkuchen.
The girl was still beside him, hugging a giant baumkuchen almost as big as herself and munching on it.
“I’m thirsty.”
The girl started patting her chest as if her throat was getting blocked from eating the baumkuchen so eagerly.
Sir Dominic wondered where they could find something to drink, but before he could even decide, his body had already slashed a white tree with his sword.
White banana milk flowed from the white tree, and Sir Dominic collected it in a mug decorated with a three-headed Chihuahua.
“It’s not yellow.”
The girl said with curiosity, looking at the white banana milk.
“Today again, there are so many things I like.”
The girl drank every last drop without spilling a single one.
How admirable.
While Sir Dominic was thinking that, the girl had already climbed a nearby tree and was stuffing melon-flavored candies that hung like fruits into her mouth.
As she savored the sweetness of the melon candy, she began to swing her legs while sitting on the branch.
“These are all things I like. Spaghetti, baumkuchen, banana milk, melon candy… even this cup is something I like, but they wouldn’t let me use it, saying it lacked dignity.”
Sir Dominic quietly listened to the girl’s words.
The girl roughly arranged her hair that was fluttering in the wind blowing slowly through the forest trees, then looked straight at Sir Dominic again and asked.
“Who are you, the odd one out among the things I like?”
Sir Dominic remained silent.
…
Beep beep beep- Beep beep beep-
“…Huh?”
Sir Dominic woke up.
Rising from the bed, Sir Dominic let out a sigh of relief.
It seemed his dream had been quite unsettling.
Being a dream, only fragments came to mind.
Spaghetti. Melon candy. Beam. Banana milk. Chihuahua.
It seemed difficult to have a nightmare with these keywords, but Sir Dominic felt he had definitely had a nightmare.
“…”
Beep beep beep- Beep beep beep-
Sir Dominic rubbed his face with a dejected expression and looked at the object that had been making noise.
It was an electronic clock showing 5 o’clock, and the alarm was ringing as it had been set for this time.
Sir Dominic sighed and pressed the button to turn off the alarm.
Then he immediately got up from the bed and sat on the edge.
5 o’clock. What was I planning to do that I set an alarm?
Sir Dominic stared blankly at the ceiling, counting the grid patterns.
…Sir Dominic suddenly felt something was off.
He turned his head to look at where he had been lying and the space next to it.
There were traces of someone having slept there, but of course, Sir Dominic didn’t know who had left those traces.
There was only a red scarf and a fox mask.
Sir Dominic got up and examined the size of the bed.
The bed was spacious enough for two people, and thinking about it, it was different from Sir Dominic’s bed…
“Wait. Could it be—”
Sir Dominic urgently began to examine the room.
Exotic weapons, a Ninja 5 concert poster, a worn rabbit doll with patches all over, and various other items—Sir Dominic realized that all these things were not in his room, were objects he didn’t know.
What on earth is going on?
Sir Dominic couldn’t understand the situation at all.
Of course, many incomprehensible things had been happening lately—
No, now was not the time for such explanations.
I should look around more and gather information.
Sir Dominic began to calmly try to figure out where he was and why he was here.
“Oh, honey. Are you up? I’ve prepared breakfast. Come down and let’s eat together.”
That is, until someone opened the door and came in.
