Ch.24Let’s Go, Let’s Go to the Fairy Kingdom, to Fairy Tale (2)
by fnovelpia
It’s been about a month since I eliminated the subjugation team that came to capture me. Perhaps word of my strength has spread among humans, because this past month has been an incredibly pleasant journey.
Though it was annoying having to find food without humans recklessly charging at me…
Still, I could consider myself fortunate that the Master wasn’t invading to target my neck. The month-long journey showed me many fascinating things. First were the strange creatures I’d never seen in the forest where I lived.
There was one with a deer’s body but a dog’s face, and another that was bear-sized but looked like a rabbit. There was even a spider carrying crayfish pincers.
Besides these, I saw the usual orcs, goblins, and trolls commonly found in forests, and there was even a group of kobolds, suggesting a mine somewhere nearby. But this place seemed to be dominated by beast-type monsters, as I didn’t see any ogres, which are large monsters.
Living in the forest, there were always one or two ogres around, and they were an excellent protein source that would reappear within a year even after being eaten. Thinking about this made my mouth water, and Mary, seeing this, must have thought I was hungry.
“Oh, Khan! I think there’s a big monster over that way! Want to go eat it if you’re hungry? I’ll eat some fruit I’ve been saving.”
I wasn’t really hungry, but I felt like snacking on something. So I decided to follow Mary’s suggestion and headed in the direction she pointed.
When I arrived there… there was a truly strange creature. A gigantic flower with a human? standing in its center. Since the flower was over 5 meters tall, the human was quite large too. What would you call this thing?
“My, a visitor here is unusual. Come closer, dear.”
As she beckoned, an incredible pheromone was released into the air. It gave the feeling that her words shouldn’t be disobeyed. Against my will, I approached her step by step.
The creature wore a seductive smile and spread her arms as if to embrace me, looking at me warmly. As I gradually approached her…
“Ahhh!! Khan—!! That’s an Alraune! Don’t get close to it!!!”
I heard Mary’s voice from a distance. Alraune? That seemed to be this creature’s name… But what did that have to do with me? My hazy mind ignored Mary’s words as my body continued approaching the Alraune.
“Oh my, hehehe. It’s fine to ignore the fairy’s words. Come, into my arms.”
The pheromones grew stronger as I approached her. Following her words, I drew closer, and the Alraune caressed my cheek. At her touch, I…
Trait ‘Frenzy’ has been activated.
Frenzy activated.
ROOOOOAAAARRR!!!!!!
My eyes turned red and my height increased. My muscles grew, my horns extended like a demon’s, and my previously short tail lengthened. The tail, now resembling a bull’s, could be used skillfully despite my never having used it before.
“Eh—?”
I grabbed the petals of the startled creature and attempted to pull them out forcefully. Though momentarily surprised, the Alraune regained her composure and pulled out her vines. She used them like grass-type techniques from a pocket monster game in my previous life.
Slap— Slap—
She mercilessly whipped me with those vines, but they weren’t strong enough to penetrate even my skin, let alone my muscles. Eventually, under my monstrous strength, the Alraune’s flower roots began to be exposed.
“Kyaaaaaaah—!!!! No—!!!! Stop—!!!!! Kyaaaaaaah———!!!”
She screamed, trying to make me stop, but it was too late. With more than half of her roots exposed and unable to absorb energy from the ground, she began to wither, then quickly died at a visible rate.
“N… No… Mo…m, I miss y…”
ROOOOOAAAARRR!!!!!
Crunch—
After completely uprooting her from the ground, I slammed her down, completely destroying her female-shaped body.
With a crunch sound like a tomato bursting, she died pathetically. Even after her death, my Frenzy wasn’t satisfied, as I continued to punch her corpse and destroy the surroundings.
CRASH——!! CRASH———!!!
How long had I been punching the Alraune’s corpse? In that short time, her body was completely pulverized, and the surroundings were utterly devastated.
As my body shrank back to normal size and my red eyes returned to their usual color, Mary approached me.
“Are you okay!? I’m sorry… I just thought it was a big monster, I didn’t know there would be an Alraune… I’m really sorry!”
She flew over nervously, thinking I was angry because I had completely pulverized the Alraune’s corpse and devastated the surroundings even though my anger wasn’t satisfied.
When I explained my situation to her, she seemed to understand and expressed relief that I wasn’t angry. As I was about to apologize for startling her…
-Ding!
-Confirming the death of participant Alraune ‘Rachel’ by participant Minotauros ‘Khan’. Activating roulette for the victor, Minotauros ‘Khan’.
The sudden system announcement surprised me twice—first that the Alraune was a participant, and second that she was so weak despite being born a monster.
Despite having the basic physical attributes of a monster, she died in one hit, suggesting she probably only relied on using pheromones to enthrall people or monsters before eating them.
Well, just as I had honed my close combat skills, which are a Minotauros trait, she must have enhanced her Alraune characteristic of emitting pheromones to catch prey. While I was thinking this, the roulette descended from the sky, emitting light.
Whoosh—!!
It fell at tremendous speed but landed softly. I wondered what principle governed its operation, but then again, we didn’t know how we ended up here either, so this was probably similar.
-Ding
-Listing the traits of eliminated participant ‘Rachel’.
– Growth
– Photosynthesis
– Alraune’s Pheromone
– Plant Control
– Digestive Fluid
– Queen of Flowers
Perhaps because I had seen the number of traits on the Japanese sword before, even though there were six traits here, it somehow seemed few. Of course, this one was much better than the chuunibyou since it didn’t have the debuff traits that all those human participants had.
I wasn’t sure how Growth, Photosynthesis, Pheromone, or Queen of Flowers would apply… but I prayed for something good as the roulette began to spin.
“Khan… this…”
She must be able to see the spinning roulette clearly, having become a quasi-participant after the Japanese sword incident.
When I explained about participants to her, she nodded in understanding. Then she stared intently at the spinning roulette.
“Mumu? (Want to try telling it to stop?)”
“Hmm~? Stop!”
At my suggestion, she told it to stop, and the roulette gradually slowed down. Eventually, the completely rotated roulette’s needle pointed to…
-Ding!
-Congratulations. You will inherit the defeated Alraune ‘Rachel’s’ ability score. You will inherit one of Strength / Agility / Intelligence / Wisdom. The roulette will spin once more.
An ability score, not a trait. It would have been nice to get a trait, but traits sometimes develop on their own anyway, so an ability score that doesn’t increase easily anymore is fine too.
The roulette spun vigorously again. I asked her to try telling it to stop again…
“Stop!”
She immediately told it to stop. Following her command, it stopped again, and this time…
-Ding!
-Strength has been selected! Revealing Alraune ‘Rachel’s’ ability scores.
Ability Scores: Strength – C
Agility – E
Endurance – A
Intelligence – A
Wisdom – A
My strength was already S, so what good would a C-grade strength do… Just as I thought this was a dud.
-Ding!
-Participant Minotauros ‘Khan’s’ strength is significantly higher than defeated Alraune ‘Rachel’s’ strength. Therefore, it will be combined with Minotauros ‘Khan’s’ lowest ability score, Intelligence.
Oh?

My intelligence increased one level to B. Now my lowest ability score was B, which was satisfying. As I was feeling content, Mary approached nervously.
“Um… Did you get something good? Is it good?”
She was worried that something bad might have appeared despite stopping as I asked. When I nodded to her, Mary smiled brightly. She puffed out her chest proudly, as if she had drawn something good herself. I placed her on my head.
She naturally lay down on my head as we left the Alraune’s territory. After hunting briefly for food, we set off again for Fairy Tail.
As we disappeared, the roulette rose back into the sky with a whoosh, then burst with a pop, emitting a bright light before vanishing.
* * * * *
Aaaaargh——!!!!!!
Kyaaaaaaah—!!!!
Save me! I was wrong! Please spare me…
Gaaaaaaah!!!! God will punish you…!
“Ahahahaha! There are no gods in this world, you fools. Look at me! I’m sawing people apart in the middle of town in broad daylight, and nothing happens!”
A town square was being devastated. A red-haired woman was sawing people with a saw, cutting off one arm, one leg, then another arm.
She was dividing people into five pieces, while beside her, a large man was tearing wheels off a carriage one by one.
He was fitting people into the carriage wheels one by one and was about to set fire to the carriage with green flames emanating from his hands when…
“Ahahahaha! Looks like there’s another participant here? Hey, cleric! Look over there!”
“Hmm?”
The woman who had been sawing called to him. When he turned his head toward the sky, he saw a bright light visible even from a distance. There was only one meaning to this—another participant had died.
“Shall we go check it out!?”
“Hmm. It seems the person we estimated to be here was living in the forest. I apologize to those who died in vain. At least let me send them to God’s side.”
With those words, he brought the green flames to the carriage wheel.
Don’t… Don’t don’t don’t! No…!!!!!! Gaaaaaaah!!!!
The green flames instantly attached to the carriage and burned the person trapped in the wheel. The one burning in the green flames began to scream endlessly, trapped in infinite pain.
Eventually, having no more business in the village, they quickly burned it down, gathered their tools, and headed into the forest.
Around them were only the sobs of the dead, trapped in hundreds of carriage wheels burning with green flames, just like the hundreds of corpses burning in the same green fire.
