Ch.245″That carrier plane buff hits just right.”
by fnovelpia
The moment I actually saw Tiamat’s status window, I felt a momentary doubt.

<Tiamat>

‘What’s this?’
How should I put it?
Intelligence-related “Magic Power” and “Magic Defense” (which handles various biochemical aspects except physical damage) do have SSS ratings as expected.
But the rest of her stats are only mid-tier A-rank performance.
At least her trait is “Air Traffic Control” as she introduced herself.
But what does it mean that someone who operates aircraft has “Army Close-Range” as her type?
…And as my reaction shows.
Since I was seeing this superhuman character Tiamat for the first time while playing this game.
‘Waaah, help me Wiki-mon!’
Following the internet’s golden rule that if you don’t know something, search first, I immediately opened the gallery’s wiki tab to check.
Although in the process, I had to waste some time deleting the damn troll posts with disgusting images that had been uploaded in large numbers.
Anyway, after deleting those disgusting images, and as the friends who were having Girl-Talk disappeared with Tiamat (who was swishing her demon tail) saying they’d show her around the base.
‘The hall monitor is free now, because the masters didn’t give me any poop pics.’
Feeling like a liberated house elf, I was able to find and read the wiki entry explaining Tiamat’s background and capabilities.

Title: SSS-Rank Command-Type Superhuman ‘Tiamat’ Settings.txt
Author: Wiki Historian mk-33
Content: [Tiamat concept art], [Concept art of Tiamat making a smirk or showing a clumsy expression with a head-chop]
A rare character providing aircraft-related buffs
Released about 2 years and 10 months before possession
Looking at her appearance, she seems like a strict FM style like Berial or a seductive succubus style
But her actual personality has the “different from appearance, actually clumsy” character trait that was popular at the time, so in daily life she shows quite incompetent aspects
If you put her next to characters like Berial or “Asmodeus,” she’d just look like a useless high school girl
But once she enters combat, she’s completely different
Even her way of speaking changes
Yet during normal interactions with you or others, she still shows her clumsy side
So there were frequent rumors about her having a dual personality
That’s roughly the setting, so what about her performance?
[Screenshot of Tiamat’s specs]
As you can see, except for intelligence-related magic and magic defense, her other stats are quite poor
With these stats as an “Army Close-Range” type, she’d get shredded if made to fight alone like the two characters mentioned above
She doesn’t provide buffs to ships either, so she’s useless in common fleet battles
Because of this, I initially wondered how to use her
Though she’s labeled a combat character, she’s precisely meant to be used ONLY for combat while aboard a ship
More specifically, she needs carrier-based aircraft and drones launched from carriers or ships in actual fleet battles
When there are carrier aircraft and drone swarms, Tiamat provides group command buffs that significantly enhance their performance
Especially by boosting the “evasion rate” and “accuracy” crucial for carrier aircraft
So if fleets with and without Tiamat engage in aerial combat, the opposing aircraft get shredded about 30% more
And lastly, I’m not sure if this counts as performance information
You know those weirdos who do strange plays using those horns on her head as handles?
According to the lore, those are antennas/feelers that provide the command ability that gives carrier aircraft their command buffs
So the more units she commands, the more sensitive they become, and if you touch them wrong, you’ll see she can perform this level of water sports even without water

‘Hmm, I see, I compwetewy undewstand.’
For a moment I felt my intelligence dropping dramatically.
But that was brief, and as I quickly shook my head to regain my senses, I felt a bright smile spreading across my face.
Naturally, seeing my beaming smile, Jessica beside me asked with a puzzled expression.
“Commander, what are you so happy about?”
“Ah, Jessica, we finally have someone who can provide buffs to our carrier aircraft.”
“…Really?”
“Of course.”
Saying that, I showed Jessica the gallery wiki tab I was looking at and said.
“I thought we wouldn’t have much to do besides fleet enhancement plans for a while, but now we have something else to work on.”
“That’s amazing. So what’s your plan for leveling up this superhuman Tiamat?”
“Nothing special. Once the construction of light carrier #2 is complete… I’ll assign her to a carrier task force including Kraken and two light carriers to hunt pirates and conduct training, I guess?”
The wiki didn’t explain in detail, but since it said Tiamat could only fulfill her role with carrier aircraft.
I also declared appropriate actions to match that.
“I guess there’s no other way.”
“Hmm.”
So not long after talking with Jessica.
When Tiamat, whose “health” and “mobility” were lacking as per her stats, returned to the command center riding on Partia’s back.
I immediately assigned her to Kraken to begin proper leveling work.
However, when actually put on Kraken, Tiamat seemed to have as little resistance to “tentacles” as Berial.
-“Hyeeeeek?!?!”
“Oh.”
-“C-Commander! It’s all wet and damp in here?! Something’s wriggling?!?!”
“Seems like they don’t match well at all.”
Hearing the high school girl-like scream that came as soon as she was assigned to Kraken.
I had to make a binary choice: leave Tiamat there shooting a tentacle scene to adapt(?) like Smeragi, or put her on a regular light carrier out of pity. I felt I had a lot to consider.
Of course, such deliberation didn’t last long.
“What would happen to her friendliness if I leave her there?”
“Are you trying to implant a brain parasite that could lower intelligence in someone who isn’t even hostile to you, Commander?”
“…Come to think of it, you’re right.”
Since I couldn’t do something that would reduce the “magic” stat related to command ability for a character whose only strength was command.
I contacted Tiamat, who was starting to tear up, and ordered her to move to the light carrier next to her.
==========
The next morning.
As usual, I was deploying superhumans here and there for daily quests while trying to start Tiamat’s leveling process.
Of course, Tiamat grumbled about the light carrier being only “normal grade,” perhaps due to her character setting.
“Then would you like to get back on Kraken? I heard Griyanar modified it yesterday so the ride comfort has improved.”
-“I’m sorry, I’ll stay on the light carrier.”
Since boarding would involve some neural connection process that would make her experience a genuine “squelch-squelch” tentacle scene.
Our horned Tiamat immediately showed a startled reaction to Jessica’s words.
Since pirates and other miscellaneous enemies hadn’t respawned yet, we decided to level her up through training using carrier aircraft.
And as I was doing this work, thinking that today would pass quite peacefully.
I had no inkling of what was about to happen.
