Ch.243243. Bodies Touches Naturally
by fnovelpia
As I was momentarily flustered by her saying she would touch my body as she pleased, I quickly regained my composure, gulped, and steadied myself.
From my three-plus years with Hwa Nabi, I’ve learned that she’s subtly—no, openly—strong-willed and not the type to back down when told to stop.
In other words, obvious persuasion won’t work. If I ask her to pause because I’m on the phone, she’ll just see it as a good opportunity and get more excited about touching me.
Normally, I could just say I’d call back later and hang up, but this time I couldn’t. After all, the person calling me was Jinhee, a high school classmate and Hwa Nabi’s friend.
[Ah, right. This is Jinhee. Do you have a moment to talk?]
I moved the phone slightly away from my ear and checked the number. It was unfamiliar. Her number should be saved in my contacts, so why wasn’t it showing up?
While thinking this, I also glanced at Hwa Nabi. Whatever she was thinking, she remained motionless with her hand on my body. I don’t know why she’s doing this, but I should end this call quickly.
“I have something to do, so I can’t talk for long… Did you need something?”
[It’s nothing much, but Siwoo, you were supposed to talk with Im Hansol after the wedding, right? But you two missed each other. Isn’t that right?]
“Yeah… that’s right? But it wasn’t intentional, I was just so busy.”
I paused mid-sentence and glanced at Hwa Nabi. She was mouthing something to me.
Her lips seemed to be asking “Who is it?” Should I answer honestly?
‘Who is it? Don’t tell me it’s a woman you’re secretly contacting…’
‘…It’s Jinhee, Jinhee.’
Seeing her frown with that ridiculous assumption, I quickly answered. But Hwa Nabi’s narrowed eyes showed no sign of relaxing. Instead, she widened them and shifted her hips to press closer to me.
‘A woman?’
‘She’s not someone you should count as a woman.’
[Hello? Why did you stop talking?]
‘She is a woman.’
‘….’
Chromosomally speaking, she’s XX, but that’s not the kind of “woman” we’re talking about here, right? I ignored Hwa Nabi’s glaring eyes and continued the call.
“It wasn’t intentional. I was just so busy greeting people everywhere. Sorry, now that I think about it, I didn’t get to see you either, did I?”
[I can see you anytime, but Hansol is the problem. He’s in the military, so he can’t contact us often.]
“Hmm, is that so? I thought soldiers could use their personal phones once they’re assigned to their units these days.”
[What? Really? Hey, Im Hansol. They say soldiers can use their phones once they get to their units or whatever these days?]
The voice coming through the phone sounds concerning. And the stare from the woman in front of me is equally unsettling.
With tightly pressed lips, she’s staring at me intensely… her expression is scary. How should I put it? It’s like she’s saying, ‘You dare talk to another woman while I’m here?’
The caller isn’t “another woman,” just a friend, so I wish she’d cut me some slack. But Hwa Nabi doesn’t seem inclined to be understanding.
[—Oh? No, it depends on the unit. We’re at the front line, so we can’t use phones while on duty.]
“Husband, are you whispering sweetly with another woman right in front of me?”
[When exactly do you have those duties?]
“I’m just talking with her, I never whispered—”
[The rotation changes daily, so it varies. But I don’t have enough seniority yet to get the convenient time slots. So I can’t use my phone often.]
Splash! Hwa Nabi created a spray of water as she reached for me. The bathwater spilled over the edge with a splashing sound, and that noise went straight into the phone speaker.
[Is that true? …Wait. Wasn’t that a water sound just now?]
‘….’
Hwa Nabi held her breath with a gasp. I also stopped breathing. I was worried Jinhee might have noticed.
[Yeah, I heard it too. But it didn’t come from around us—it sounded like it came from Siwoo’s phone. Siwoo, did you spill something?]
It wasn’t Jinhee who asked but Im Hansol beside her. From how clearly I could hear his voice, they must be together, though I don’t know why. But that’s not important right now.
Hwa Nabi seemed frozen in surprise, not expecting this to happen. So cleaning up was entirely my responsibility. Though I was also surprised, I tried to answer calmly.
“Oh, Hansol. You’re there too? Sorry about earlier, I was so busy I just let you go.”
[Ah, no. No need to apologize. Actually, I left before your wedding ended and returned to my unit.]
“What? Why? Weren’t you on leave? Did something happen?”
[Well, nothing happened at our unit… but, did you watch the news this morning?]
“No, I didn’t have time. I’m also abroad right now. Why? Did something happen?”
[Nothing major, just North Korea suddenly in the East Sea…]
Right after I heard the word “North Korea,” Hwa Nabi started moving. Perhaps because of her mistake earlier, she seemed to be backing away to avoid disturbing me.
Her arm trembled as she braced against the bathtub floor, and her movements looked quite unstable. She looked like she might fall… and just as I thought that.
-Wobble.
“…!”
Hwa Nabi’s body tilted backward. She was really falling. With my attention split between the phone and her, I quickly lunged forward and caught her waist with one hand.
In the process, I dropped the phone, creating a splash and a huge spray of water. Taking the water directly to my face, I wiped it with my free hand. After roughly clearing just enough to see, I quickly opened my eyes.
…Hwa Nabi was in my arms with eyes like a startled rabbit.
“…Ah.”
What a relief. I felt a wave of reassurance as my tension drained away. Unlike me, Hwa Nabi was so shocked she couldn’t move, but that was a minor concern.
I finished wiping my face and swept my wet bangs back. Then I asked her:
“Are you okay?”
“Ah… yes. I’m fine, what about you, husband?”
“Me? I’m always healthy.”
I smiled gently to reassure her, but for some reason, Hwa Nabi’s face turned bright red. She seemed to be strangely hiding her embarrassment.
“Y-yes, you do look healthy. Extremely so.”
Hwa Nabi’s gaze was fixed on my lower body as she muttered this. Looking at my face but commenting on my health while staring elsewhere was confusing at first. But following her gaze, I understood.
That indescribable part of me was, as she said, making its presence known.
“…”
When did it get like this? It was perfectly normal just moments ago. As I raised my head to make some excuse, my eyes met Hwa Nabi’s. She seemed as flustered as I was and quickly averted her gaze.
Her earlobes had turned red.
“…It’s because you’re a man, right?”
“Huh, what?”
“They say men get like that at random times… don’t they?”
“Y-yeah, that’s right. All men are like that.”
Both Hwa Nabi who spoke first and I who agreed knew this was a poor excuse, but neither of us mentioned it. It would have been too awkward otherwise.
After this awkward exchange, we hesitated for a while before finally letting go of each other. Then we sat back down in our places as if nothing had happened.
—Hello? Han Siwoo? There was a really loud noise just now, did you fall?
Suddenly hearing a voice from outside the bathtub, we looked at each other in surprise. The call volume had increased significantly—probably because I had accidentally pressed the volume button when I dropped the phone.
…Let’s stop with the unnecessary analysis. I reached out of the tub to grab the phone, then paused and looked at Hwa Nabi. Her face was still red from the shock.
“Since I was in the middle of a call, should I finish it first?”
“Ah, yes. Go ahead, Jinhee must be worried.”
It was actually Hansol who had taken over the call, not Jinhee, but I didn’t have the luxury to correct such a minor detail. After clearing my throat briefly, I answered the phone.
“…Hello?”
[Ah, now I can hear you. What was that? There was a really loud noise just now. Are you really okay?]
“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s nothing.”
In truth, I wasn’t fine at all. My heart had been racing strangely ever since I embraced Hwa Nabi. It was beating so fast I could barely control it.
[I heard water splashing too. Did you fall in the kitchen or bathroom?]
“No, I didn’t fall—I almost fell, but I’m fine. The water sound was from my hand hitting some standing water.”
[Standing water made that noise? Where exactly are you taking this call?]
“…”
I wasn’t trying to brag. I couldn’t honestly answer that I was taking the call from a hotel bathroom in Puerto Rico, alone with her.
But skipping that detail would make my explanation nonsensical. So I gave a half-truth: I was filling the bathtub with water and almost fell while trying to answer the phone.
[Oh, so that’s what happened? I’m glad you’re not hurt, but if you were in the bathroom, you should have said so. I would have hung up right away.]
“It’s all resolved now. It’s fine, so what did you call about?”
[Ah, that. …Where was I?]
“Something about North Korea in the East Sea, I think.”
As we exchanged this trivial conversation, my mind began to calm down. Finally feeling at ease, I glanced to the side. Hwa Nabi was looking at me with an extremely apologetic expression. She probably felt bad that we both almost got hurt because of her.
Seeing her so dejected and gloomy wasn’t like the Hwa Nabi I knew. With a slight smile, I slowly moved closer to her side.
“…Huh?”
Hwa Nabi hadn’t expected this and was too surprised to react. Taking advantage of her hesitation, I pressed right up against her. Then, as if putting my arm around her shoulders, I wrapped my arm around her waist and placed my hand on her lower abdomen.
As I gently caressed her, Hwa Nabi flinched in surprise and looked at me. She seemed about to say something, so I quickly waved the hand holding the phone. I was reminding her that I was on a call, and anything she said would be heard.
‘Are you… doing this on purpose?’
Hwa Nabi mouthed the question to me. I looked back at her and answered with just my lips.
‘Yes, I’m doing this on purpose.’
‘Why, why?’
‘Why do you think?’
Because I want to touch you.
