Ch.236The End of a Long, Long Event
by fnovelpia
Of course, one or two people responded that we should try to hold out a bit longer, but…
What could we do?
Our real chance of winning 100% ended when we didn’t take the bait when they initially sent 90% of their fleet head-on as a decoy.
Anyway, for that reason our team surrendered with a 9:1 vote, and the game ended.
As always, the moment the game ended, we were instantly moved to the “waiting area” without even a chance to chat with other players.
Of course, unlike before when we had various ships, especially the large and beautiful Kraken and Hresvelgr, the atmosphere felt quite desolate with only the miniature Neranjara.
Actually, only the exterior of the ship was desolate.
Since all our superhumans who had been dispatched elsewhere were teleported back to Neranjara’s bridge due to the surrender.
“Oh my.”
“Commander, did we lose?”
“Well, I guess so?”
“Hmm, it was a golden opportunity to make the exceptional Anomalocaris ship our own.”
“What a pity, if we had succeeded, it would have made an excellent gift to present to both Princess Luca and the Queen.”
“Nyaaaa… that was really tough!”
“Still, it was a helpful battle. Fighting superhumans of our level or higher is certainly not a common occurrence.”
“We did our best♡ Commander♡”
“Oppa, praise us!”
‘Wow.’
As our superhumans who had infiltrated the enemy fleet and survived all crowded onto the bridge at once, the area around me instantly transformed into a bustling marketplace-like space.
Of course, that didn’t last long.
When an event-related message appeared before my eyes with a ding sound.
I gestured to Jessica, who was standing slightly apart from me, to send our superhumans to the lounge for now.
“Come on everyone, you’ve all worked hard, so go rest. The Commander is busy right now.”
And with my gesture, the quick-witted Jessica immediately shooed away the seven superhumans who had clustered around me.
“Tch.”
“Hmph.”
“We fought so hard, and we need to recharge with some Icarusium.”
Of course, being “superhumans,” they showed resistance by shaking their heads in protest at Jessica’s dismissal.
“You can do that as much as you want later, but right now the Commander’s business is more important, so hurry along.”
Not a chance.
Despite differences in appearance, age, and gender, the “adjutant” character ultimately serves as a final line of defense for player commanders.
And with the added weight of the title “Commander’s Adjutant,”
Marian, Pashtra, and the other superhumans who were unnecessarily resisting were subdued by Jessica and dragged out of the bridge.
Of course, after dumping them outside the bridge, Jessica immediately returned inside.
Anyway, after watching this minor situation, I shook my head and decided to check the new message that had appeared.
Fortunately, it wasn’t a message that would cause me any harm.
Rather, in some ways, it was news I had been waiting for quite a long time.

<Notice>
<This message is only being sent to Commanders who have completed all 10 battles in this event!>
<Commander, congratulations on completing all 10 battles!>
<Event score calculations will be announced in a general notice one week from now.>
<Please be assured that all ships and superhumans destroyed or lost during the event have been restored and are waiting at your base!>
<Commanders who have completed all 10 battles will return to their base shortly after reading this message!>
<However, please understand that even after returning to your base, you cannot leave your base or your Commander’s area until the event ends when all Commanders have completed their 10 battles!>

“Oh.”
“So they’re restoring all the ships and superhumans? That’s a relief.”
“Indeed, and it seems the administrators haven’t made any unnecessary changes either.”
From the beginning, since the event was held on a separate map, it would have been a disaster if they didn’t restore the exploded ships and superhumans.
Realistically, if they did something like that, even if you became a ranker in the event, a ranker with all their main ships destroyed would inevitably become a slave with all their holes(?) conquered by surrounding users.
Of course, there are some peculiar masochists who might want that, but since I’m not one of them.
I nodded with satisfaction at the notice that they would proceed with fleet and superhuman restoration as I had known from the event details.
Moreover, even though we’re in an invincible state during the event period, we’re not just confined to the base but can move around within our “area.”
I thought I could enjoy a leisurely countryside life upgrading the base while the event was in progress.
Of course, as is always the case in life, my peaceful countryside life plan…
Just as we returned to the base after reading the message, and as the restored Kraken was running toward us with its tongue hanging out like a retriever, as announced…

<General Notice>
<<<‘Ancient Empire Capital’ Event End Announcement>>>
<Thank you to all Commanders who participated in the event!>
<Event score results will be announced in a general notice one week from now!>

‘Why does this always happen to meeeee!’
Through the boldly appearing “Event End Notice,” it all disappeared just like that.
==========
Contrary to my worried thoughts, surprisingly, there wasn’t a rush of users swarming everywhere as soon as the event ended.
Of course, thinking about it, it makes sense. After grinding through 10 battles with gritted teeth, users’ mental states would need healing.
So fortunately, my “countryside life” itself could be maintained, albeit briefly…
I decided to open the gallery after a long time to see how other users were doing.
And the gallery I opened was burning with crazy lost souls who couldn’t browse during the event period.

These crazy bastards keep crawling out, and there’s not a single admin or user mod in sight, damn it
Comments:
-[Don’t know about admins, but user mods are rankers, so they’re probably still fighting battles]

Among the trash posts full of eye-rotting disgusting images, like a dandelion blooming between asphalt roads, this ordinary post revealed that:
While the admins and rankers=user mods were participating in and focusing on the event, unable to manage the gallery,
The early birds had turned the entire gallery into what could only be described as a den of insane sexual perversions.
And it wasn’t just the gallery; they had done all sorts of messed-up things in the auction house and public anonymous chat as well.
I couldn’t help but shake my head and was about to delete the posts claiming to be crazy old lady memes one by one…
Right at that moment.

Behold that light!
Gondor calls for aid!
Comments:
-[Kiyaaaaa!]
-[I knew we could count on the GMs!]
-[This too must be the grace of the admins]
-[Those bastards posting disgusting images just got CUT]
-[Message said the event ended, now they’re working]

It seemed the admins had assessed the gallery situation as soon as the event ended.
Seeing the tens of thousands of pages of accumulated garbage posts being mass-deleted in an instant,
I thought I should probably check the gallery again a bit later.
