Ch.234229 – Overseas Travel
by fnovelpia
Early May, due to adult circumstances, World of Arsheria’s story was completely overhauled, and the character Adella could no longer be found in the game.
Once a special NPC who handled weapons best suited to each player’s class.
But her identity was that of a thief to the bone.
Around the time World of Arsheria was suspended for a month, Adella had been volunteering as a lawyer against the vicious groups persecuting thieves.
Mostly in community forums.
[Adella: You’re dead. When the WoA server opens, let’s meet for a character deletion punch, okay?]
[ThievingIsSinful: Yeah right, next thief lol]
[Adella: You’re a thief too.]
[ThievingIsSinful: I’m a top lane master with 200 points? Haha!]
[Adella: Ugh, ice mage scum!]
“ARGGGHHHH! When is this damn game going to open again?!”
‘Adella’ – famous for having the exact same customization as the deleted NPC.
How many people knew that the person inside was actually the same as the real Adella?
She could only lament her current situation, having fallen from her glorious past to become a cyber warrior.
“What glory did you ever have in the past?”
NoName, lying on the private room sofa, quietly delivered a critical hit.
Then Adella, with all sorts of irritation written across her face, lay down on the floor and began flailing her limbs.
“Thieves are great! Thieves are really great! Why does nobody believe me?!”
“I believe you.”
“Wow, look at this soulless empathy. You’re totally a T.”
“I guess so.”
“Ugh!”
Adella was even more annoyed at NoName for casually dismissing her tantrum.
Suddenly, she knelt primly in front of NoName.
“So anyway. Instead of playing boring healer, make a new thief account with me and let’s duo. We can finish the story in a day anyway, right? Making an endgame character is nothing.”
“Healers have better win rates though, so why bother?”
“Come on, stream with a thief! Show everyone the greatness of thieves. You have so many viewers.”
“If you want that, why don’t you stream yourself?”
“God, this is so frustrating!”
Today again, NoName was reading a magic book with an indifferent expression.
Adella stuck out her rough cat tongue at her with a “blehhh.”
“By the way, Adella.”
“Eep… what?”
When NoName closed her book and sat up, Adella hurriedly pulled her tongue back in.
“Have you ever thought about streaming?”
* * *
“Hmm… to get straight to the point, debuting is impossible.”
“Why! Why on earth?!”
At Honey Badger’s announcement, Adella frowned in displeasure.
I slightly narrowed my brows and said:
“There are already many channels featuring AI as streamers. What’s the problem?”
Artificial intelligence had already developed to the point where people didn’t feel much discomfort in everyday conversations.
Of course, since they were merely responding to human speech, they often said things that diverged from social norms.
Most AI streaming content used these elements as entertainment.
“First, the biggest issue is copyright. Even if Wearsoft says they transferred all rights to NoName, the fact that the NPC was recalled suggests the ownership might be divided among multiple parties from the beginning.”
“If you’re talking about the ASI manufacturer, I don’t particularly care if we violate that.”
Since it was created illegally anyway, who cares about copyright? It would actually be good if they came looking for us.
But Kariri shook her head.
“And the design is also a problem. Della, you want to keep your current avatar, right?”
“Yes. I absolutely refuse any other body.”
“Then at minimum, you need to find the company that designed the avatar and get permission for commercial use.”
Kariri had once used a free distribution model without citing the source, only to discover it was prohibited for commercial use, resulting in backlash from viewers.
She urged following proper procedures to avoid repeating her mistake.
However, she welcomed Adella’s streaming debut once all issues were resolved.
“There are many AI VTubers, but Della’s case is definitely special. She’s already world-famous. Plus, she’s the first strong AI.”
“How many times do I have to tell you I’m not AI but human! NoName, say something to her!”
Adella blinked rapidly and pressed me.
“Yoonseul. Does that look like artificial intelligence to you?”
“Huh?”
“AI isn’t that stupid. Adella is definitely human.”
“Argh…! I truly have no allies in this world!”
“But how do we find out who designed Adella?”
“That’s obvious.”
Suddenly Kariri walked briskly to Adella and pushed her chest, making her lie back on the sofa.
“What meow…?”
She examines Adella’s hands and feet alternately.
Like a cat suddenly taken to the vet, Adella belatedly tried to raise her tail fur in resistance, but was helplessly examined.
Finally, Kariri forcibly pulled out Adella’s tongue and said with certainty:
“Only one company in the world can create such detailed features.”
Adella jumped in shock behind the sofa.
“Artireal from Germany.”
“Arti… what?”
A tiny voice came from behind the sofa.
Kariri continued her explanation.
Virtual reality avatars created by four employees of the German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim as part of an in-house club activity became hugely popular worldwide.
Eventually, the company lost four talented employees.
They established their own company called “Artireal” and transformed into a business that only accepts high-end avatar creation requests.
However, the procedure for requesting an avatar from Artireal was extremely complicated.
Even in the 21st century, they only accepted orders through in-person visits and only permitted their work for celebrities who had built significant social recognition.
There were rumors that they weren’t accepting new customers because they were too backlogged with orders.
“So what do we do? I can’t stream?”
“What are you talking about? There’s a socially recognized celebrity right here. Ahem…!”
Kariri shrugged and pointed at herself with her thumb.
“Sis, was your honey badger avatar also ordered from Artireal?”
“Of course. This level of investment is basic for surviving in the tough VTuber market.”
Adella turned her head quickly and whispered to me.
“I guess they accept just about anyone as customers. Well, in today’s world, discriminating against people would get you criticized.”
“Yeah, I agree.”
“You guys are so mean…”
The dejected Kariri regained her energy and clenched her fist.
“This works out well anyway. I was planning to go to Germany to order avatars for Safari Dream’s first generation.”
“Great, that works out. So am I done with my part now?”
I somehow managed to complete the ridiculous mission Kariri gave me.
Since she didn’t say anything more, it seemed things had gone well with Daniel too.
Though I’m worried about how well I’ll do, being overshadowed by such a unique character as Adella.
“Niel still hasn’t fully let go of herself and needs more mental reconditioning… but she’ll probably be fine after this training camp in Germany.”
“So you’re taking Niel too. What kind of training camp?”
“That’s why Adella and NoName’s roles are very important.”
“You’re talking like I’m going too?”
“Of course NoName has to come! Were you thinking of not going? You’re Adella’s guardian.”
Going to Germany?
I’ve been to another world before, but overseas travel is too much.
If asked why, it would be hard to explain, but somehow there was a psychological resistance to leaving my homeland.
“NoName, you absolutely have to come! The designer said if we bring you to show your avatar, they’ll give us a discount!”
“So that was your real intention?”
I decided to refuse indirectly by bringing up Professor Cheon.
“Professor Cheon is going on a business trip to the mana power plant this month. Technically, Yoonseul is still a minor and Niel is barely nineteen. He definitely won’t allow it.”
I think I shouldn’t have used this as an excuse.
* * *
A woman with white hair wearing a Chanel collection wool tweed jacket and all-black fashion contrasting with her hair approached from afar, her black high boots clicking.
How did I end up joining this trip?
“Hello… Principal.”
“Hello NoName. Are you enjoying your summer vacation? I’ve been checking on you occasionally online.”
“Yes, more or less.”
As soon as I mentioned Germany to Professor Cheon, he made a phone call somewhere and gave his approval too easily.
Of course, he wouldn’t send us alone and found another trustworthy guardian.
But of all people, it had to be Principal Gu On-yu.
What kind of relationship do those two have?
“Is this your first overseas trip?”
“Ah, yes. I suppose you could say that.”
In my previous life, I crossed borders like it was nothing, but that’s just my previous life’s experience.
The August airport was bustling with various travelers.
Near the exit, some reporters and people were densely gathered, seemingly waiting for arriving celebrities.
At the relatively quiet information desk, there was already someone pulling a carrier in Hawaiian beach attire.
A tacky pink floral shirt with blue polka dot shorts, and even a straw hat on their head. It would have been perfect with a tube float.
But this person looked strangely familiar.
“Daniel…?”
“Oh! NoName, hi!”
Niel waved happily and ran over.
“What’s with that fashion?”
“What about your outfit? Didn’t the boss tell you?”
“Boss?”
If she means Kariri, I dressed normally today.
Yoonseul, returning from the bathroom, saw Daniel and puffed her cheeks while covering her mouth.
She was desperately trying not to laugh.
“Niel! You look so pretty!”
“Wait…! Was I tricked?”
“NoName, now that everyone’s here, shall we go through immigration?”
I wonder what kind of persuasion could make someone wear such clothes.
Yoonseul pulled Daniel’s wrist as she wilted from embarrassment.
The incident was eventually resolved with Yoonseul buying Niel new clothes at the duty-free shop.
We were lucky enough to get four economy seats at the very front center of the plane.
Principal Gu On-yu sat on my right, and to my left, Yoonseul and Niel put down their luggage in order.
Even though I’m small, the seats didn’t feel very spacious.
I thought the long flight to Germany might be uncomfortable, but the two girls were too excited to care.
Especially Yoonseul, who kept teasing Niel in an effort to become friends.
Knock-knock-
I felt a small knock from behind my seat.
Wondering if I had reclined my seat incorrectly, I peeked my face through the gap.
“Ah! Whoa! It’s… NoName…!”
“Hello.”
“OMG! I’m your fan! I watch your VTube videos!”
“Thank you.”
Besides security personnel at immigration, no one had recognized me, but here I am meeting a viewer.
“But why are you going to Germany…? Don’t tell me! Leaving Korea for good?”
“Honey, is that appropriate to say to a child?!”
Suddenly, the woman next to him grabbed his hair and shook it.
“No, nothing like that. Just a trip.”
“Awww, so cute…! Please keep making videos in Germany too! We live for your videos these days.”
“That’s a bit embarrassing. Thank you.”
“Do you have Instagram or other social media? We haven’t seen videos lately, so it would have been nice to see photos at least.”
“Social media? I don’t use it… but I’ll think about it.”
We fastened our seatbelts and the plane took off.
Watching the ground gradually recede through the window made me feel oddly unsettled.
I was slightly surprised to see the cabin crew immediately preparing lunch.
I was the only one with omelet spaghetti and hamburger steak; the others had bibimbap and bulgogi. Strangely, my taste leaned more toward Western than Korean food.
Yoonseul, who had overheard the earlier conversation, asked:
“NoName, you don’t use Instagram?”
“I have an account but don’t use it.”
“Then try posting a photo! People will definitely like it. If you’re uncomfortable showing your face, how about food photos?”
“Why bother?”
“Come on, it’s a special memory. I’ll like your post.”
Finally giving in to Yoonseul’s encouragement, I tilted my phone to take a picture.
The in-flight meals of Niel, Yoonseul, and mine were awkwardly captured.
“Should I just upload it like this?”
“Isn’t that too plain? At least add a short comment.”
“It’s just airline food, what impression could I possibly have?”
Especially since I haven’t even tasted it yet.

(In-flight meal photo.jpg)
[The spaghetti looked more appetizing than the bibimbap.]
“Now can I eat?”
“Yes! Enjoy your meal!”
Taking photos before eating, rather than saying grace, has somehow become a Korean custom.
Anyway, today’s youth culture is too difficult to understand.
