Ch.231Spoiler(3)

There are things that could happen in the world. These are events or facts that might exist somewhere, even without definitive evidence.

In other words, it’s “why did this happen?” There have been many cases where carelessly scribbled writings or thoughtlessly uttered words actually came true.

The reason such things happen is quite simple. The world is vast, the people living in it are diverse, and these people cause all sorts of incidents.

Especially on Earth, where culture has developed and the “internet,” a sea of information, has become popularized, allowing people to encounter various cultural elements.

Moreover, media like “movies,” “comics,” and “novels” stimulate imagination and fulfill fantasies.

What people from the distant past would dismiss as “No way, that’s impossible,” modern people think, “Why not?”

The best example is the airplane. People of the past couldn’t have imagined flying through the sky in something they created.

But now, massive chunks of metal fly through the sky, and beyond that, we even have jets that travel faster than sound.

Like this, “imagination” changes according to scientific and cultural development, and I, with memories of my past life, can proudly say my imagination is exceptionally superior to others.

If I were to just mention a bit about my past life, people would dismiss it as a joke, making me appear imaginative to others. But since I’ve seen it with my own eyes, I can only offer a bitter smile.

Of course, I can understand given the era and less developed science. The problem is that such imagination isn’t limited to just “airplanes.”

The contamination of the World Tree’s roots came from my imagination, and the demon worshippers, who could be called the hidden villains of the Biography of Xenon, also came from my imagination.

The demon hunter organization also appeared in my imagination, and even the forbidden magic fusion came from my imagination.

Movies, games, comics, novels, and so on. My imagination, nurtured through various cultural elements from my past life, would be astonishingly advanced by this world’s standards.

The problem is that it all manifests in reality. My unnecessarily vast imagination has come back like a boomerang to hit me in the solar plexus more than once.

To me, these are incidents purely from my imagination, but this place is a “fantasy world.”

Yes, it’s a fantasy world. The fantasy world that only appears in movies, comics, novels, or games from my past life.

I overlooked the fact that in such a world, if I made up stories, they had a high chance of becoming reality. Thanks to that, “why did this happen?” has occurred multiple times.

On Earth, it would have been pure fantasy, but in a fantasy world, it could easily be considered a “prophecy.” Realizing this, I became more cautious.

[The darkness hidden behind the great lamp of the Papal Kingdom of Sabre is revealed!]

[A Cardinal of the Church of Luminus was found to be in collusion with demon worshippers…]

[The Papal Kingdom of Sabre is in shock. The person who uncovered the truth is none other than Kate Louise Angelica, who as a Cardinal…]

But this time, a different kind of “why did this happen?” occurred. As seen in the recently published newspaper, there was actually a Cardinal in Sabre who colluded with demon worshippers.

I got direct confirmation from Luminus, so I’m not particularly… no, I’m actually extremely shocked.

Because this was a situation I had expected to unfold in volume 18.

The mastermind behind the attack on Jin and Lilly was a Cardinal from the Holy Kingdom, and the story was about gradually uncovering this and eventually engaging in battle.

But before I could even reveal that story to the world, they caught the real culprit in reality. For me, who was leisurely eating bread in the dormitory, it’s an event that could make me choke.

[Cardinal Bark was a devout clergyman but was blinded by greed and did what shouldn’t be done…]

[The Church of Sabre has now declared that they will eliminate all demon worshippers hiding in the shadows.]

[It has also been revealed that demon worshippers are deeply connected to the underground, involved in drugs, smuggling, human trafficking, etc…]

The content in the newspaper was truly shocking. The clergyman named Bark was an executive among the demon worshippers and had been relaying all of the Papal Kingdom of Sabre’s movements to them.

Originally, demon worshippers were difficult to track because they operated in cell structures, but after Bark’s identity was exposed, the organizational chart became clear.

Particularly noteworthy is the influence of demon worshippers on the underground. Thanks to capturing one of the leaders, it became possible to understand what kind of influence demon worshippers had.

In this world, just like on Earth, there are crimes like drugs, smuggling, and human trafficking, and criminal organizations that grow through such profits also exist.

But the shocking fact revealed was that there wasn’t a criminal organization untouched by the hand of demon worshippers.

Having hidden in the shadows for a long time, their negative influence on the world was astonishingly severe. The problem is that there are quite a few high-ranking individuals involved with these criminal organizations.

Of course, they aren’t in collusion with demon worshippers, but when they’re involved with criminal organizations, the funds naturally flow to demon worshippers, so it’s essentially appropriate to tie them together.

[Sabre. From now on, we declare the commencement of a ‘Holy War’.]

Recognizing that the situation is much more serious than expected, Sabre has also initiated a ‘Holy War’.

A Holy War is literally a sacred war, meaning waging war in the name of religion, but this time it has a different meaning.

Sabre must have been very ashamed that a Cardinal, of all people, colluded with demon worshippers. The newspaper even mentioned that some high-ranking clergy left the church in disappointment.

So this is essentially a declaration against demon worshippers, not a country. They’ve expressed their determination to eradicate them completely.

Also, to prevent such incidents, a culture of “mass” has emerged, where not only high-ranking clergy but also ordinary clergy pray together, which is very familiar to us.

But holy war or mass or whatever, it has no meaning to me right now. There’s something else that’s immediately important.

[The prophecy about this incident was already foreseen in volume 17 of the Biography of Xenon! Cardinal Kate said that it’s darkest under the lamp…]

[Not the Cardinal who spoke harshly to Jin, but the Cardinal with a gentle disposition would be the real culprit.]

[Looking at the lack of prayer and doubt towards God, it’s certain.]

[Will the content of volume 18 flow similarly to reality?]

As it turns out, Kate was the one who caught and interrogated Cardinal Bark. She became certain after seeing the advice about it being darkest under the lamp and the content of volume 17.

Currently, she’s confined to solitary confinement for committing violence within the papal court, but the newspaper states that she’ll be released soon as her contribution has been recognized.

But to me, none of that matters, and the content of volume 18 of the Biography of Xenon has gone beyond ‘leakage’ to ‘exposure’, so I can only hold my head in my hands.

If I write it as is, I’m worried they’ll be enthusiastic about it being a prophecy book again, and if I change the story, I’m concerned that the plot I’ve constructed will be ruined.

It’s truly a dilemma. The newspaper seems to be subtly anticipating my reaction.

    “Sigh…”

I closed the newspaper with a deep sigh.

It feels like being hit hard on the head with a hammer. I can’t grasp how to proceed from here.

I should probably explain first, but I wonder if people will believe me. For now, I won’t change the story. This resolve is firm.

Rather, pushing through like this will cause less confusion, and above all, people will understand on their own.

    Woong-

    “Huh?”

While sitting on the bed with a heavy heart, I felt a faint mana wave. It was such a familiar feeling that I didn’t even bother to be cautious.

Every time Cyris Lunatic teleported to my dormitory, such waves were felt. And sure enough.

With a slight breeze, Cyris appeared in my dormitory. As always, she wore a revealing bikini armor that pleased the eyes.

As Cyris appeared with her white hair fluttering, I quietly opened my mouth.

    “You’re here?”

    “Hello, Issac.”

Cyris bowed her head respectfully and greeted me. I asked her while sitting on the bed.

Since I had sent a letter to Arwen Elidia before, I wanted a response to it.

    “What did Arwen say?”

“She added that despite having many difficult things recently, she’s gaining strength thanks to you.”

Well, Arwen is publicly the only person connected to Xenon. When Phiren Gerrit Stormwalker made his last desperate move, he spread strange rumors about her being in a relationship with me, and there was nothing that could be done about it.

From her perspective, being associated with me might be tiresome, but it can have many good advantages.

I heard that even after becoming queen, she was able to establish a foundation to steadily build up her previously weak “connections.” For a politician like Arwen, connections are more precious than gold.

However, she’s still struggling with the aftermath. So I sent her a letter of encouragement last time.

    “Here is the Queen’s reply.”

    “Thank you.”

I received the letter from Cyris and immediately opened it. It’s in a rolling paper format, which is somewhat girlish for Arwen.

Following that, when I opened the letter, I saw elegant handwriting befitting her position as queen. It filled an entire page, showing how meticulously she had written it.

[To my dear Issac. I have read your letter well. It gives me strength like a downpour on dry land. I’ve had many difficult things recently, but thanks to you, I feel like they’re all being resolved.]

I smiled contentedly. Even just reading the text, I felt like I could hear Arwen’s voice.

…Wait a minute. I can actually hear her voice? What is this?

    “It’s a voice-storing magic.”

    “…I see?”

She already wrote the letter, so why use magic too? I felt a bit perplexed but slowly continued reading the letter.

I don’t know what the principle is, but as I read the letter with my eyes, Arwen’s voice plays in my head.

Indeed, it must be magic. There are so many fascinating things. Since Arwen is an elf, it’s possible for her, but if she were human, it would be an ability beyond dreams.

[Being confined to the office due to work, I want to see your face. I want to choose books together at a bookstore and watch performances together, like at the exhibition. I know I shouldn’t be like this as a queen, but there’s no one as comfortable as you, so please allow me to whine a little.]

How hard must her work be for her to complain even in a letter? From ancient times to the present, kings who work diligently boast of a very arduous workload.

Just looking at the mountain of documents piled up in my father’s office, Queen Arwen’s workload would be no less, if not more.

Moreover, even after ascending to the throne, she struggled to implement even a single policy due to pressure from the Senate, and she had almost no one she could trust.

Before meeting me, she had no one she could call a “friend,” making for a somewhat difficult life.

[Many things have changed thanks to meeting you. We prevented the contamination of the World Tree’s roots in advance, and even the Senate, which was hindering Alfheim’s development, has been relegated to the back pages of history. Even relations with the Dark Elves are gradually improving. If it weren’t for you… I wouldn’t have been able to do anything. I want to express my gratitude somehow, but there’s nothing I can properly do for you. You have everything a man can possess.]

Arwen’s voice suddenly drops. It’s a bit awkward to say it myself, but the current me is a person with almost no shortcomings.

Power, wealth, fame, and lastly, beautiful women. Anyone would see me as a person lacking nothing.

[But my pride won’t allow me to back down like this. If there’s anything you want, I’ll grant it without reservation. Don’t think of replacing it with bringing sacred texts, as I have sins to atone for. The favor I’ve received from you is far too great to repay even with my body.]

Hearing those words, I couldn’t help but flinch for a moment. It’s probably not sincere, just an expression of how grateful she is. From the outset, her voice doesn’t betray any embarrassment and is resolute.

Still, seeing Arwen say such things shows how deep her gratitude towards me is.

[My story has gotten long. If the opportunity arises in the future, come visit Alfheim. Seeing your face would give me strength I didn’t even know I had. Or, if you allow, I’ll put aside some work and come there. You might think I’m childish, but I’d like you to indulge this whining a little. A day is a very short time for an elf, but since forming a connection with you, a day feels like a week. Then, wishing Luminus’s blessing upon you, I’ll take my leave.]

[Oh, by the way. You don’t need to reply. Just let Cyris know when you’ll come to Alfheim.]

With that, Arwen’s voice disappeared. I smiled at the childlike content that contrasted with the elegant handwriting.

Recently, I’ve been busy with work, so there have been few opportunities to meet face-to-face, but visiting once during this vacation doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

Originally, people need to see each other’s faces to deepen their friendship. There’s a saying that distance makes the heart grow distant for a reason.

“I’ve read the letter. Tell Arwen I said thank you.”

“Understood. Ah, before that… the Queen asked me to inquire about one thing.”

    “Hmm? What is it?”

Cyris, with her characteristically stoic expression, relayed Arwen’s question.

“She said that due to the recent incident in the Papal Kingdom of Sabre, people will definitely consider you a prophet or a person from the future.”

“I’ve already given up on that. Even if I say I’m not, they won’t believe me.”

“So Arwen asked this: Are you really a prophet or a person from the future? Did you experience it firsthand?”

I’m not, I tell you. Now even Arwen is doubting me.

But I have no intention of revealing to anyone that I’m a reincarnator. There’s no benefit in revealing it, and it would only cause confusion.

“I’m not. Tell her it’s all coincidence.”

I’m just in a fantasy world.

“There are no restrictions set by gods or anything like that.”

In a fantasy world, writing about things that could happen.

“I’m just an ordinary writer writing plausible novels.”

    I’m a writer.

    Really.
