The Level 5 biome was definitely a good hunting ground for my current stats.

If this were a Farming World, having such monsters in a Level 5 biome would make players furious, complaining that it’s practically telling them not to play the game. But in the Rift Dimension, if you collected all the SSS+ abilities they handed out and used them properly, you could reach my current level of power, making hunting in the Level 5 biome not particularly challenging.

Coming to the Level 5 biome, I could understand why Lulu’s previous owner had been doing well but ultimately died.

Magic is not an easy ability to survive with in this Rift Dimension.

That’s not to say magic is bad.

But the difficulty level is just too high.

If you know how to set up and utilize magic properly, you could certainly hunt more comfortably and easily with high damage and flashy area attacks. But considering the characteristics of the corrupted boss monsters starting from Level 0 biomes, Lulu’s previous owner, who started with magic, would have had a tough time.

I’m not sure what would have happened if they had somehow managed to defeat the corrupted ogre and gained rewards to progress.

Running simulations in my mind, if they had grown with a magic tree similar to my setup, would they have been able to hunt more comfortably in the goldbird territory now?

Even then, I was somewhat pessimistic about that.

The compatibility itself is simply unfavorable for magic in the Rift Dimension.

It’s an issue that arises because the difficulty is too high. Unless the previous owner’s Rift Dimension had been arranged differently than mine.

Most monsters are powerful and fast enough that they need to be dealt with through close combat.

    Take the goldbirds, for example.

Surprisingly, goldbirds, whose bodies are covered in ore, have a passive ability that reduces magic damage based on their gold content.

Even goldbirds with a minimum gold content of 5% reduce incoming magic damage by 30%, and research shows that those containing 20% or more gold can reduce magic damage by 60-70%.

Does that mean they’re easy to take down with physical damage?

    Of course not.

For close-combat fighters, goldbirds are a nightmare because they fly through the sky.

Even I wouldn’t have dared to hunt goldbirds if I didn’t have Leaping Slash.

Even the lowest-grade goldbirds fly in at ultra-high speeds, almost too fast to react to without a leap, trying to peck with their beaks. To attack while dodging at that moment?

If you had that level of stats and close-combat skills, you’d probably find it much more comfortable to hunt in biomes one or two levels higher rather than bothering with goldbirds.

So ultimately, the reduction in magic damage counterbalances magic’s strength against flying monsters, while physical damage dealers need to overcome the weakness of having to deal with airborne creatures.

Once again, I have abilities that solve both of these weaknesses, which is why I can hunt so comfortably.

“Oppa, did you know? The publicly disclosed U.S. gold reserves are about 8,155 tons. That’s worth over 1,000 trillion won! The gold you’ve collected today is about 1.3 tons, right? If you keep collecting diligently for 20 years, you’ll catch up to the U.S. gold reserves. Just how much gold does America have?”

“Where do you even learn such useless information?”

“I told you I’ve been studying about gold! You said we were short on gold for the farm tech upgrades too.”

    “That’s true.”

“I’ve also been studying about Farming World. I think we can soon graduate from copper tech with the copper coming from the mines. And I’ve arranged with the Black Monkeys to find iron and silver.”

I thought she was just looking up useless things and scheming about making money, but it seems she had some real thoughts behind it.

    She’s right.

From my perspective, I was barely paying attention, thinking I’d just clear things at a moderate pace and upgrade tech with whatever resources accumulated. But for Kim Sujeong, who’s experiencing the farm for the first time, these are interesting things to look into.

And since the Rift Dimension’s system is almost identical to Farming World, it’s easy to find information by researching Farming World.

“Good job researching. Ask if you have any questions.”

It’s good for me if she takes care of the base’s affairs on her own—less for me to worry about.

“Then I’ll put this gold in storage for now. Sol unni said she needs it too. And for tech upgrades.”

    “I’ll keep bringing more anyway.”

“There’s still a lot left out there, right? Right, oppa?”

    “I suppose so…”

As I’ve been feeding them resources, they come running like baby birds in a nest, which gives me a strange feeling, like I’ve become a mother bird.

If players in our old Farming World server had coveted my resources like this and tried to use them as if they were their own, I would have been furious and thought about kicking them out immediately. But strangely, maybe because this is the Rift Dimension, or because I truly think of them as farm members, I don’t feel like it’s a waste—rather, I feel I should gather even more.

Is this the responsibility of being the head of a household?

Or is it that seeing people passionate about growing the farm ignites my own enthusiasm to work harder?

Despite coming back tired after staying out until night, seeing their welcoming faces gave me energy.

And then Lee Jihyun, who came down late, flung open the cabin door.

    “Oh… oppa? Is that gold?”

Half-drooping eyes. Messy hair and glasses.

Looking like a typical shut-in, Lee Jihyun, who had been drinking a cup of coffee to fight off fatigue, asked with suddenly bright eyes.

“Yeah… why? Do you need gold too?”

“Gold… I absolutely need it!! I actually wrote down when we might be able to get gold on the blackboard here. Did you see that?”

“Um… no. But I think you can erase it now.”

“Wow! How much of this can I use? There are so many alchemy recipes that require gold.”

“Use as much as you need. I’ll keep bringing more.”

Jihyun happily showed off her achievements.

“Oh, and take this stamina pill when you go out next time. It’s complete.”

    She handed me a pill.

    [Blood Eel Stamina Pill]

    – Grade: A

    – Tissue extracted from the heart of an electric blood eel directly amplifies vitality and activates bio-energy. Various medicinal ingredients have been mixed to focus specifically on stamina. Caution: Overdose may cause discomfort due to uncontrollable stamina.

    – Upon consumption: Increases stamina for 300 minutes.

    – Upon consumption: +1 grade to physical strength for 300 minutes

It’s just a pill solely focused on stamina enhancement with no other special options.

“Like you said, I mixed it with a +1 strength potion. Both effects last for 300 minutes.”

    “Good job.”

The +1 strength effect will serve as bait to attract not just people who buy stamina pills, but other men as well.

If stamina alone improves, people might not be able to utilize the full effect for the entire 300 minutes due to insufficient strength. Adding the +1 strength grade allows for better use, and more importantly, allows people to purchase it without worrying about others’ perceptions.

They can conveniently buy it under the pretense that it’s a useful 300-minute strength enhancement potion, not just a stamina pill.

“By the way, how effective is this? Is there a set parameter for how much it improves?”

“Um… no. I just made 10 pills from the extract of one eel, following the recipe. Since it hasn’t been tested yet, would you like to try it, oppa?”

“…What would I use it for?”

    “…”

    Why is she blushing?

Maybe staying cooped up indoors is making her weird.

I put the pills into my spatial storage.

There were more than I expected.

Dozens of them, almost a boxful.

“Wow, how many did you make?”

“Since blood eel hearts don’t have many other uses, I made pills from all the leftovers after processing the meat. I did keep some aside just in case.”

    “That’s a lot.”

This is exactly why multiplayer in Farming World makes sense.

While I’m busy elsewhere, the others use their time for different tasks, making growth several times faster.

Looking at this, my thinking has gradually changed.

This is no longer a farm I’m raising alone.

I need to consider the situation of our farm members who are growing the base, so I can’t just follow the romantic notion of progressing through levels 1, 2, 3 in order.

I’ve already skipped to level 5 anyway.

I think I need to find some efficiency, like how I used to grow in Farming World.

The rewards are also much better when clearing biomes that match your level.

Just clearing two Level 5 main quests gives three SSS+ ability selection boxes, plus two life skills.

There are also seven SSS- ability selection boxes as sub-rewards, which are good for scaling up the farm.

“I should start transitioning to mid-game farm management soon.”

It might be a sudden acceleration, but it seemed like the right time for a more aggressive push forward.
