    Witch – Chapter 22 – The Two Witches (2)

The commotion about my chest, stirred by drinking the Elixir of True Courage, finally subsided after a sincere punch knocked Leo out cold.

Since then, Josie had been acting quite distant toward Leo, which I considered a sign that our plan had succeeded.

    “I’m sorry!”

“I’m fine. It’s understandable at your age.”

After regaining consciousness, Leo recalled what he had said and immediately bowed his head in apology.

I’m fine. It’s not like my chest is going to wear out from being looked at. It’s just that I was caught off guard by such blatant harassment, especially with my daughter nearby. Even though it was just words, the sensation of being licked by his gaze was so repulsive it still sent shivers down my spine.

But would Josie forgive him? It seemed like the one who he truly needed to apologize to wasn’t me, but Josie.

Dozens of butterflies from who-knows-where attacked Leo every day. They didn’t cause any harm, but there was no doubt they were assassins sent by Josie.

Josie treated Leo like trash that needed to be eradicated from this world, avoiding even eye contact. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before he’d get kicked out. All that was left was to wait patiently.

Although there had been a noble sacrifice… this wasn’t my fault. It was entirely due to Leo’s wicked intentions.

Sure, I had recklessly downed a potion to enlarge my chest because I liked big breasts, but once they grew, they were nothing but a nuisance. They were only useful as storage pockets, so all the daily maintenance I needed to do didn’t feel worth it.

There’s no man who doesn’t like large breasts, but just because someone has the courage to say it out loud doesn’t mean I’d hand over my precious daughter to such a scoundrel.

I think I finally understood why the Holy Kingdom had exiled Leo. To think he had such vulgarity hidden in his heart.

Josie, forget about men who ogle other women’s chests and make comments!

Contrary to my expectations, Leo wasn’t driven away.

In fact, as days passed, Josie’s emotions seemed to turn inward rather than toward Leo.

She spaced out more often, and there were days when she sighed deeply before falling asleep.

    “Are they too small…?”

Whenever we had tea together, Josie would glance at my chest and mutter to herself. Even though she spoke softly, her words carried weight, and I couldn’t help but overhear. Pretending not to hear was the only option I had, as anything I said wouldn’t have comforted her.

When I went to the shared storage for supplies, I sometimes sensed a presence in the potion room. Since I had banned Leo from entering the shared areas, the only people who could be there were me and Josie. It was obvious who it was.

    “Josie?”

    “Eek…!”

When I cautiously opened the door, I found Josie, startled like a thief caught in the act. Her lower body was stuck in a box of rarely used potions, wriggling awkwardly. It reminded me of an ostrich burying its head in the sand, thinking it’s completely hidden. It was both amusing and baffling.

“Do you need a specific potion? If you tell me, I can find it for you quickly.”

    “N-no! Eek!?”

She had already rummaged through more than five boxes, so her denial was unconvincing. As she struggled to free herself, her face turned red, and she hastily tried to leave, only to bump into my chest and bounce back. I managed to catch her before she fell, so she wasn’t hurt, but her expression looked more pained than ever.

“Are you okay? Be careful, it’s dangerous…”

    “I-I’m fine!”

She shook off my hand and bolted out of the storage room like a fugitive. I wondered what I should say to her… whether I should follow and stop her, but I quickly dismissed the thought.

What was I like at 15?

All I could remember was being engrossed in my studies under the tutelage of the Witch of the West. When puberty hit, I was fascinated. My chest began to swell, my body started to curve, and when I experienced my first period, I truly felt like I had become a woman. Thanks to my past life and having gone through puberty once before, I handled it well… but for Josie, every change was new, and she was at an age where she was hypersensitive to others’ opinions. As her mother, it pained me that I couldn’t fully empathize with her struggles.

Josie must have been looking for a potion to enlarge her chest. But that potion was securely stored elsewhere, so she wouldn’t find it here. I hadn’t even written down the recipe, so she couldn’t make it herself, which was likely why she was searching the storage.

Why was she so fixated on having larger breasts? Her current size was already lovely and proportionate. Her chest would grow to a size that suited her as she matured. Unnaturally large breasts might appeal to men, but for Josie, they’d be nothing but a burden. They’d cause shoulder pain, sweat under the bust in summer, and without proper care, they’d sag and look worse than having none at all. If it weren’t for the aesthetic of large breasts I’d admired in my past life, I would never have taken that potion.

As I tidied up the storage, I pondered how to convince Josie.

Perhaps instead of convincing Josie, I should just deal with Leo. But since I was partly responsible for Leo’s loose mouth, I decided to hold off for now.

    Men are just like that.

Even if they’re not men, anyone would be drawn to breasts with the destructive power of a siege engine. Josie’s case was a bit special. Having grown up with only me, she might have thought it was normal.

Even if Leo were driven away, the thought of Josie spending her life feeling inferior about her chest size pained me.

Should I trick her into taking supplements little by little?

As I pulled out a potion labeled “Elixir of Love” from the inventory magic circle engraved between my breasts, I fell deep into thought.

“No. There’s no need to rush. Especially if it’s because of Leo.”

Who would benefit from this? It’s too pitiful for her to become large-breasted just because of Leo.

Even if Josie wanted it, as her mother, there are lines I couldn’t cross.

    Knock knock knock.

    “Mom, are you asleep?”

Just as I was about to lie down in bed, Josie knocked on the door.

When I opened it, she stood there holding a pillow, her cheeks flushed, as if she wanted to sleep with me tonight.

“Can I sleep with you tonight?”

    “Of course. Come in.”

A meme from my past life flashed in my mind, and after getting into bed first, I tightly embraced Josie.

“Do you have something on your mind?”

    “Not really…”

She hesitated, clearly wanting to say something, so I gently stroked her head.

Josie’s recent worries were undoubtedly about her chest, but I was curious why she was so fixated on it.

If there was a reason I hadn’t considered, I was willing to pretend to be convinced and give her the potion.

“Mom… you, you—your chest is so big!”

    She finally blurted it out.

Her face turned red as she buried it in my chest. I barely managed to suppress the ticklish sensation from her breath and gently pushed her away.

“Why? Is it because of what Leo said?”

    “It’s not because of Leo…”

    Her averted gaze suggested otherwise.

Given the topic, it was hard for her to be honest. If the genders were reversed, this situation would be unthinkable.

“Then why? What about my chest?”

    “Well… it’s pretty, and big, and…”

As Josie rambled on, praising my chest, I was at a loss for how to comfort her.

“…Someone I know likes big breasts, so I thought it’d be nice if I had them too. Mom, since you have a big chest, do you know how to make them bigger? Mine are so small…”

She even brought up someone she knew, which was admirable, but… I couldn’t give her the potion. Comparing one’s self to others would only lead to unhappiness. I wanted her to love her body as it was.

“What’s wrong with you, Josie? Everyone grows at their own pace. Your body is already so beautiful.”

    “Mine?”

I couldn’t bring myself to describe her figure, but Josie had a slenderness rare for her age, and her chest was developing just fine for a 15-year-old. In fact, it wasn’t small compared to her peers.

“As you grow older, your heart will align with your body’s shape. So there’s no need to rush. When I was 15, my chest was smaller than yours.”

    “Really?”

She seemed to gain some confidence, smiling before blushing in embarrassment.

“But Leo only cares about big breasts. He’s such an idiot.”

Now she wasn’t even mentioning the person she knew.

“Where do you think big slimes come from? They start as baby slimes and grow over time. Besides, Leo’s just being dishonest. He knows I don’t like him much, so he’s probably just trying to lighten the mood. He probably doesn’t care about breast size, big or small.”

    “R-really?”

Well, the guy who drank the Elixir of True Courage wouldn’t lie, but I could pretend like what he said was a lie now.

“It’s getting late. Go to sleep. The earlier you sleep, the faster you’ll grow.”

I tucked her in and gave her a slight wink. Yes, there are many ways to grow breasts without relying on potions. Genetics play a big role, but environmental factors can’t be ignored either.

After making sure Josie was asleep, I carefully got out of bed and left the room.

There was only one destination. I entered the room where Leo slept peacefully, unaware of Josie’s worries, grabbed him by the collar, and forcefully woke him up.

    “Gah!”

Startled awake, Leo let out a strange scream and froze when his eyes met mine.

He seemed to have some sense, as he stayed quiet while I whispered tomorrow’s tasks into his ear.

“As soon as you wake up tomorrow, tell Josie you don’t like big breasts. Understood?”

    “……!”

    “Answer.”

    “Y-yes, ma’am!!!”

Good. If he didn’t want to die, it was best to comply.

Satisfied with Leo’s response, I released his collar, ignoring him as he collapsed back onto the bed, and returned to my room.

By tomorrow, Josie’s worries would be resolved. With a lighter heart, I returned to bed, hugged Josie tightly, and fell asleep.

“Josie, I don’t like big breasts! In fact, I prefer a modest size! Ever since I first saw you…”

    “Pervert!!!!!!!!”

    Ugh, that idiot…

The next morning, Leo’s harassment ended with him being knocked out cold… but Josie’s expression seemed much more at ease.
