Ch.21Party Time for a Week (3)
by fnovelpia
No lies accepted.
Seriously, don’t lie to me.
Despite my gaze filled with such emotion, Jessica refused to take back her words.
“Commander… no matter what you say, what can’t be done can’t be done.”
“…Haaaaaaaah.”
No matter how much I denied it, unchangeable facts remained unchangeable.
And truthfully, even if Jessica had offered to take back her words, I wouldn’t have accepted it anyway.
<Resource mining ship under attack.>
<Evasive maneuvers in progress.>
<Dumping all stored resources to increase evasion rate.>
‘Ugh, my god.’
Our enthusiastic status window guy was already reporting in real-time what those pirate bastards were up to.
Thanks to that cursed attack, instead of the 700 resources we should have received, we only got 525, the same as yesterday.
And on top of that, we lost one of our existing mining locations.
“Commander… what are you going to do?”
“Hmmmm.”
I should have felt genuinely pissed about the current situation, but…
<Resource zone under attack>
<Enemy forces: 1 destroyer, 2 patrol ships>
“Sigh… can’t be helped.”
“Do you have some kind of plan, Commander?”
“Deploy two destroyers and eight patrol ships, and order them to sink every last one of those bastards who attacked our resource zone.”
“Understood, Commander.”
It’s not like I could just sit back and do nothing.
Since this wasn’t the time to waste looking for new resource zones, I immediately dispatched forces to reclaim our resource area.
At the same time, I decided to begin repairs on the mining ship that had returned barely alive.
“At least it’s fortunate that the mining ship wasn’t completely destroyed and somehow made it back alive.”
“That’s true.”
So what if we lost some resources? It’s better than having the ship blown up and needing to build a new one.
Given that resource mining ships are typically LARGER than even decent-sized cruisers.
The resources needed to produce them are much more expensive than destroyers, so it’s best if they don’t get destroyed.
Of course, it would have been ideal if they had brought back the resources too…

I thought we were finally getting a break when the day started with no enemies showing up.
Then those f***ing bastards ambushed my resource zone
I rushed my fleet there and managed to push them back, but 2 of my 3 mining ships got destroyed
I’m seriously pissed

…As you could tell from the state of the gallery.
There were countless players whose mining ships couldn’t even make it back alive.
And seeing many cases where people found just one resource zone, focused on developing it, and then got properly screwed.
Compared to those idiots, my situation wasn’t that dangerous.
As always, the existence of people who screwed up worse than me.
Served as motivation for those around me to keep going strong for another day.
Besides, as I mentioned before, unlike those guys, I had adopted the “victorious diversified investment” strategy.
All I had to do was mock those fools who put everything into one place while simultaneously crushing the pirates who invaded our resource zone.
According to the great “Lanchester’s Law,” to ensure we could grind them down without taking damage even with a mindless assault.
I decided to deploy more than twice the force of those who invaded our resource zone.
Meanwhile, our superhumans who had been worn down through battle after battle…
“Huaaaaaah…”
“I truly feel alive now.”
“Haeuuung♡ C-Commander’s thing is filling me up♡”
“That’s just the smoothie the Commander made for you. If we’re not careful, this game’s age rating might go up.”
“Hmm? What are you talking about? Censoring games based on content? There’s no way such a country exists♡”
“Well, that’s true.”
While making strangely meta comments, they were enjoying their time in the base’s lounge.
And all I had to do today was check the automatic repairs of existing ships and inspect newly produced vessels.
I also needed to verify that the heavily damaged mining ship that returned was being properly repaired, and confirm whether the fleet sent to the resource zone fought properly.
Thanks to the significantly reduced workload compared to usual, I was continuing my service activities for the superhuman characters who had worked hard.
Of course, this was simply something I was doing as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work.
“Mmm♡ Commander, come join us and rest too♡”
“No.”
Using the excuse of muscle tension.
I strictly cut off situations that might endanger something in adolescents, like Pashtra trying to seduce me while receiving a full-body massage naked.
“Heeng, you’re so mean.”
I maintained thorough social distancing(?) by firmly rejecting her.
Of course, Pashtra immediately began to express her dissatisfaction with my attitude.
“Commander, didn’t you used to explore my body whenever you were bored?”
“…”
“You used to whisper affection for us while giving yourself such an embarrassingly excessive title.”
“…Ahem.”
“What was it again? I’m sure you asked us to call you the ‘Saintess-boobies-touchy-touchy-baby-food-sucky-kissy-kissy’ Commander…”
“…”
Seeing her casually bringing up such cringe-inducing memories, I couldn’t help but feel horrified inside.
==========
But as anyone could see, there’s no way there would be that much to do when only 3+2 people (me and Jessica) were resting.
So not long after providing this ser-vice.
Thinking how peaceful things were, I decided to open the community again to get a general idea of how the current situation was unfolding.
And as soon as I entered the community, the first post I saw was:

Title: It feels so good to crush those losers who can’t mine resources
Author: Anon
Content: [Ship destruction image]
These guys are so broke they can’t even afford mining ships, so when I poke at them with patrol ships, they get all nervous and start freaking out, which is hilarious
What a bunch of losers LOLOLOLOL
Then when their destroyer gets destroyed they completely lose it

I couldn’t help but frown at this post where someone had disabled comments just to boast about their malicious attitude.
Naturally, other users had similar reactions to such /p>

-What kind of loser is this? (14)
-Ugh, gross;; (5)
-Posting crap and disabling comments, that’s really disgusting (6)
-Without moderators in the gallery, brain-dead losers like this crawl out (9)
-This guy is commenting on posts insulting him, truly pathetic (7)

Of course, such a first-class loser displayed not even a hint of pleasantness.
I couldn’t help but feel truly regretful seeing such behavior.
But unlike most users who only criticized verbally.
When a post revealed that this trash poster had been doing all sorts of despicable things since being incarnated here.
The accumulated anger toward the troller finally erupted, and some veteran players began to draw their knives.
