# Chapter 215: Civil War Among Children (3)
In the overwhelming situation where Sa Dugwang, no, Ambassador Samiya’s forces were dominant, the Allied Faction had no options left.
Naturally, their fleet was absorbed into Samiya’s fleet.
“Ho ho ho.”
“I always believed you would succeed, Samiya.”
“You’ve always been more brilliant than anyone else. My judgment was correct.”
“…”
The children of Fern’dus who led the Allied Faction quickly assessed the situation.
They reached their own conclusion to make Ambassador Samiya their central figure.
Before long, numerous brothers and sisters could be seen flocking around Samiya, fawning over her in pursuit of power.
And Samiya, whether she cared or not…
Continued to advance her fleet with a detached yet cold-blooded attitude, as if she had become the Supreme Commander Fern’dus himself.
——————————————-
Meanwhile, at the same time.
“Argh, those pesky flies!”
The Elder Faction, which had successfully seized control of the capital city of Prosnack, Prosnack (the alliance name was derived from the mother planet’s name)…
Realized that the sources of the interference waves disrupting their mental control waves were numerous high-speed boats displaying erratic movements.
But since they had no way to catch them, they were collectively suffering headaches.
“Those damned flies need to be sunk immediately!”
Such irritable reactions were now erupting from the Security Commander’s headquarters almost daily.
But they didn’t have any good solutions either.
This was because to catch such ultra-high-speed small assault boats, they would need a large number of small vessels like patrol ships…
Most of the small ships in Prosnack’s capital defense fleet belonged to the Allied Faction, so they were essentially nonexistent now.
And deploying large ships would be something only fools would consider.
“First, we need to pursue and eliminate the fleet of those rabble.”
Setting aside the common-sense absurdity of chasing assault boats with large ships.
The Security Commander, leader of the Elder Faction, had already ordered two-thirds of his fleet to pursue the Allied Faction’s fleet.
Of course, the staff around the Security Commander tried hard to dissuade him.
But the Security Commander revealed his own reasoning for such actions:
“Then try to break through those damned interference waves so that mobilization orders can reach throughout the alliance to easily eliminate those rabble.”
“Hmm…”
He pointed out that because of those flies neutralizing the mental control waves, mobilization orders to eliminate the Allied Faction couldn’t be transmitted.
“The rabble themselves aren’t frightening, but what if they absorb the still-intact patrol fleets across regions… or even the border guard fleets?”
“…”
In response to the Security Commander’s assessment that they might deceive and absorb forces from regional patrol fleets or border guards,
“You’re right. Then we should expedite our departure immediately.”
The remaining forces of the capital defense fleet belonging to the Elder Faction under the Security Commander’s leadership.
About two-thirds, approximately 5,000 ships, began their departure in an imposing manner to pursue and annihilate the fleeing Allied Faction’s fleet.
Of course, this meant that the actual force defending the capital was the remaining one-third, 2,500 ships.
Moreover, about 20-30% of those belonged to the Neutral Faction.
Effectively, only about 2,000 ships remained to protect the capital, which led some to voice concerns about the risk, albeit a minority.
But to such concerns, the majority of the Elder Faction responded, ‘Why worry about such things?’
Of course, there was some basis for such responses.
“We have the orbital defense system like an iron wall and dense defense platforms on the space stations, so what is there to fear!”
“Hmm.”
“Honestly, with such space fortresses, we could repel anything that comes with the remaining fleet.”
The existence of Prosnack’s final line of defense, which had been continuously expanded and upgraded for decades, including powerful super-large ion batteries.
The orbital defense network, regarded as a ‘small John-Bernater Line’ within Prosnack, reinforced their confidence.
—————————————-
But no one anticipated that the Security Commander’s choice would turn out to be the worst move for the Elder Faction.
It wasn’t that the Elder’s judgment was wrong.
Rather, having accurately assessed the situation and implemented appropriate countermeasures.
Normally, they would have suppressed the chaos within Prosnack and dealt with Arto’s ‘mischief’ without any problems.
The issue arose after Samiya’s fleet absorbed the Allied Faction faster than the Security Commander had anticipated.
Shortly after two-thirds of their forces, 5,000 ships, had departed.
“Security Commander, sir! An urgent communication just arrived from the fleet!”
“What is it? Have they already succeeded in annihilating those rabble?”
“No! Our fleet has been annihilated instead!!”
“…What?”
The Security Commander was so shocked by the news that the capital defense fleet—no, the pursuit fleet—he had sent had been annihilated instead, that he dropped the terminal he was holding to the floor.
“Moreover, the surviving ships from the annihilation are now joining the coup forces…”
“…”
Hearing that the surviving ships were joining the coup forces instead of returning to the capital, the Security Commander collapsed weakly into his chair.
—————————————
And not long after that.
“Ah, the sight of the beloved mother planet.”
Samiya’s revolutionary army had already begun to display its majestic presence at the outer regions of the Prosnack home system.
Although there had been fleet losses due to the battle with the pursuit force sent by the Security Commander.
“How are the newly joined members doing?”
“Their loyalty is much higher than expected, Ambassador.”
“Hmm.”
“Perhaps because they were from the Security Commander’s faction, they seem even more eager to fight to prove their sincerity.”
Thanks to the absorbed forces that more than made up for those losses.
“How would you assess our current strength?”
“Combining the border guard ships, vessels brought from Seveli, ships supplied from various planets, and the forces that surrendered from the Allied Faction… approximately 7,000.”
With numbers alone far exceeding twice the size of the Security Commander faction defending the capital, Samiya nodded with satisfaction.
And perhaps due to this overwhelming difference in forces, unlike the Security Commander’s faction which had taken a defensive stance after losing their fleet.
The morale of Samiya’s faction, the revolutionary army, was soaring sky-high.
Therefore, Samiya rode this momentum and opened a communication channel broadcasting to the entire capital:
-“I am Jad Samiya Halabi’dus, daughter of Supreme Commander Fern’dus. I could no longer watch incompetent individuals tarnish the banner of the great Prosnack Alliance and erode the nation’s strength.”
“…”
-“To the incompetent Security Commander and those loyal to him, I say this: surrender immediately and join the journey to rebuild the foundation of the great Prosnack.”
In response to what was essentially ‘taunting everyone,’ the Security Commander also replied through the public communication channel:
“You have quite the tongue for someone who brought a rabble of followers. Stay right where you are. I will drive my battleships in and crush all your heads.”
As the communication channel was cut off after those words, Samiya and her faction realized that the Security Commander would never surrender voluntarily.
“What should we do now?”
“If we delay any longer, the likelihood of Seveli or Ztrakforga intervening in our situation increases.”
“Above all, if the Security Commander really mobilizes battleships, our revolutionary army, with cruisers at best, has no way to counter them.”
And this meant, for everyone except Samiya, that they needed to somehow subdue the Security Commander before foreign intervention—essentially a time limit.
But despite this, Samiya maintained her composed attitude:
“Everyone, there’s no need to worry too much. The battleships won’t follow the Security Commander’s orders.”
“No, isn’t that being too optimistic?”
“Yeah, you don’t seem to know what kind of person your brother the Security Commander is.”
At Samiya’s attitude, other factions—especially Samiya’s siblings—jeered and expressed doubts about her leadership.
But before long, they were forced to realize that Samiya’s words were true…
