    <General Announcement>

    <<<Event Information>>>

<This is an event notice for all Commanders!>

<As the clear rate of the ‘Ancient Base Ruins’ has now exceeded 50%, we will proceed with the schedule for the next event!>

    <‘Ancient Empire Capital’ Event Information>

<This event is a ‘User Cooperative Event’ where Commanders participate together!>

<The event will be conducted as a ‘Cooperative Team Tournament’ format.>

<Commanders participating in this event will form random teams regardless of clan affiliation or sector.>

<Team composition will change randomly each round, with teams consisting of 5 to 10 members.>

˪<Please note that teams will be balanced to prevent excessive concentration of specific ship types or fleets.>

    <Important Notice!>

<The event will take place on a separate map, and once you participate, additional reinforcements from your ‘Base’ will not be possible.>

<Most community functions will be restricted during event participation.>

˪<Gallery and trading windows will be completely blocked, and only ‘Event Team Chat’ and ‘Event General Chat’ will be available.>

<The bases and sectors of participating Commanders will be invulnerable until the event ends.>

˪<This measure has been implemented considering that base management will be unavailable during the event period. We ask for the understanding of non-participating Commanders.>

<The ‘Ancient Empire Capital’ event will begin in 3 days, and if you do not decide to participate within 2 days after that,>

<Please note that you will not be able to join this event.>

    ‘Hmm.’

Was this event always this complicated?

Somehow the format reminds me of that tank game or flight simulator from my previous life(?) that oscillated between godly and crappy.

Anyway, with such an event announcement posted, I started to carefully consider the details.

But the more I looked at it, the more it felt like a headache…

“Hmm… wait, does this mean if you participate in the event, you can’t get reinforcements or even manage your base?”

“I think so? More precisely, it seems Commanders won’t be able to manage things.”

So if construction in my base is completed during the event, I won’t be able to process or handle it?

“Commander, I don’t think the event will last that long.”

“Jessica, even when we faced just 5 clan members last time, it took a whole week.”

    “Ah.”

Of course, that was because I had to face those 5 people ‘alone’ and had to drag things out, which consumed an enormous amount of time.

    You know that saying, right?

The famous quote from the great sage Jirox Sensei: “When 5 people gather, one of them is definitely trash!”

What happens when just one person trolls in team battles has been proven by countless AOS games.

And the high blood pressure and hospital visits of all sorts of users in every game that involves team battles.

My train of thought seems to have gone in a strange direction, but to summarize, my conclusion was ‘Anyway, it’s going to take a loooooot of time.’

“Indeed… thinking about it now, you might not be able to operate your base for a month or two if things go wrong, Commander.”

    “Right?”

Jessica nodded in understanding at my concern.

    But that didn’t last long.

Perhaps because there was so much whining about the issues I was worried about in the gallery and other community spaces.

The administration promptly released an additional announcement…

    —————————————-

    <Additional Event Notice>

<Base operations will function normally during the event period>

˪<The restrictions during this event only apply to community features and reinforcements for participating fleets.>

    —————————————-

    ‘I see.’

Hearing that my concerns weren’t a major issue, I nodded and decided to praise the administration’s response.

    ==========

The problem was that just a few hours after the event announcement was posted…

These mischievous users began to show just how far human malice could go.

Title: These bastards are starting wars right before the event

    These assholes lolololol

    Comments:

-[Why are people suddenly fighting right before the event?]

-˪[I’ve been hearing a lot about this lately]

    -[Pre-event warm-up battle OMG;;]

    —————————————-

    —————————————-

Title: Reference for those currently under attack

    Author: Anonymous

Content: [Screenshot of chat encouraging attacks]

Because users participating in the event will have their bases become invulnerable,

Some clans and solo users are attacking competing clans or rivals’ bases before the event to reduce their forces

Seems like they want to gain an advantage in the event

    Comments:

    -[The continuing will of fire…!]

-[So they’re trying to win the event by striking first and cutting down the forces of potential opponents?]

    -˪[Yes, that’s right](Author)

    -˪[Mother f***]

    —————————————-

It’s quite absurd, but they’re preemptively weeding out users who plan to participate in the event.

Naturally, most users criticized this behavior as stupid.

However, some newbies responded with “Isn’t it somewhat valid?”

Of course, in response to these newbies’ reactions, one stagnant pool of rotten water threw out a post to quell the storm of curiosity.

    —————————————-

Title: Newbies don’t seem to understand why this is stupid

    Author: Artillery Battery Deployed

Content: [Image of a toad holding a microphone on a bus]

As stated in the announcement, both your team and enemy teams are completely random

Even if you kill some jerk, the chance of meeting them is almost zero

You seem to have forgotten that there are at least hundreds of thousands of users here

The probability of meeting them is non-existent

Instead, you’ll waste your fleet’s strength fighting unnecessary battles for “competitor elimination”

Then enter the event with a damaged fleet, get destroyed by other intact users

And the chance of being called a troll by your team is waaaaaaay higher

    Comments:

    -[Think big]

    -[Wow really]

-[But aren’t there cases where people do it out of revenge or just to mess with others?]

-˪[Those are extremely special cases that shouldn’t be anticipated](Author)

    -˪[Oh I see]

-˪[People seeking revenge care more about screwing over their targets than the event anyway]

    -˪[Agreed]

    —————————————-

    ‘Smart young man.’

Despite this rotten water’s explanation, as you can see from the comments.

The angry charges of trolls who just want to cause trouble and users blinded by revenge weren’t stopped.

For a while, the gallery continued to echo with the desperate cries of users begging for help right before the event.

And seeing this, I just shook my head.

Then I decided to focus on clearing quests while leveling up my large and beautiful Hresvelgr along with my newly acquired ships.
