Ch.2121 – Genuine Troller
by fnovelpia
“I think I won’t be able to talk while playing. Sorry, but I’ll turn off my mic.”
“Huh?”
Namei’s voice cuts off.
Sia momentarily couldn’t figure out what was happening.
[User ‘YuriDoctor’ donated 5,000 won!]
-You rascal! So you’ve been hiding your true troll nature for this moment!
‘What’s going to happen now?’
Broadcast questions, personal questions, and more. She had mountains of things to ask, but in an instant, Sia’s plans were completely overturned.
“I’ll focus on the game for now. It might be stressful since it’s our first match.”
But Sia had already become a proper professional streamer, so this level of surprise wasn’t enough to fluster her.
To prevent the chat from burning up too intensely, she set it to subscribers-only mode and decided to focus on the game.
As a high-elo support, she had tried “Asteria” as soon as it was released.
She agreed that it was Riot’s masterpiece with high growth potential and stylish skill sets that provided both carry potential and fun.
However, due to excessive balance considerations, it required a high understanding of the champion in lane and was too difficult to position properly during large-scale teamfights.
In other words, all flash and no substance.
Not particularly strong in lane, and even if you somehow managed to scale well, it was a burdensome champion that would likely die mysteriously.
People’s interest in Asteria gradually cooled, and now they were just waiting for Riot’s buffs.
When NoName picked Asteria, viewers sighed.
That’s why trolls are trolls.
They don’t care about winning or losing, only playing for their own enjoyment.
Teammates who solemnly come together as one team lose morale because of one person’s existence.
The frustrating experience that every League player has suffered at least once.
They poured their anger toward Namei, fueled by their past experiences.
But the situation reversed when Namei got a triple kill.
[User ‘AsteriaSimp’ donated 10,000 won!]
-Is this the power of a level 6 Asteria? Then what have I been doing all this time…
After Asteria’s release, numerous montage videos spread widely, but most featured level 16 champions with rank 3 ultimates.
Only then, with 20 star fragments during “Supernova,” could you deal ultimate-worthy damage to multiple targets.
But NoName demonstratively landed all 10 marks in just one second without wasting any.
This wasn’t a coincidence, as her kill score continued to climb relentlessly.
[An ally has been slain]
While Namei and Sia were pushing the side fortress, their 3 teammates recklessly initiated a teamfight and suffered a major defeat due to the numbers disadvantage.
Unfortunately, this happened at Baron Duke’s nest.
If things continued this way, their advantageous position could be reversed.
“Since Baron is probably gone, wouldn’t it be better to push an inhibitor?”
Sia cautiously suggested her opinion, but…
[Support – NoName]
“Are you really going there? That’s crazy. All 5 of them are alive.”
Regardless, Namei didn’t even finish pushing the lane and immediately ran toward the nest.
“Hey, you’re worth 1,000 gold bounty! If you die too, we’ll lose this game.”
Namei had scaled well, but as a bottom laner, she wasn’t ahead in levels. Their actual stats were similar.
Sia could understand why Namei was being so hasty.
‘If their tank gets any more fed, we’ll have almost no way to break through in future dragon fights.’
But was that factor significant enough to gamble on a single fight?
Again, this was Bronze/Silver elo. A place of chaos where games could flip even with a 10,000 gold difference.
As someone who preferred stable gameplay, Sia wanted to play for late game.
The dead teammates were pinging warnings.
[Danger!]
[Retreat!]
[Support – NoName]
Of course you wouldn’t back off. Fine, let’s go. I never thought I’d need to focus this hard in Bronze/Silver/Gold.
Currently, Asteria’s possession rate was reset.
When Namei and Sia appeared in the mid lane, the enemy team prepared for battle, aware of their presence.
But Asteria’s movements were suspicious.
“Is that why you built attack speed?”
She utilized the fact that Q skill could increase possession rate on jungle monsters and lane minions. She arrived in mid lane precisely when enemy minions were flooding in.
Namei moved through optimal paths, hitting all 6 minions to instantly raise her possession rate to 30%, then immediately eliminated all the Razorbeaks, completing 60% possession rate with 750 range.
-That Q speed isn’t human?
-Wow those mechanics are insane (literally insane)
-Since it’s virtual reality, are mechanics actually brain-mechanics?
-Even with League’s lower freedom, it still follows real-world reaction speed
Baron’s remaining health was 3,000.
Too precious to give up, and hard to ignore with a fed bottom lane right in front of them.
From 60% possession rate, the increase in attack range with each auto-attack becomes overwhelmingly noticeable.
Namei used her long range to poke the enemy team, forcing them to make a choice.
Fight or flee?
She thought about committing when her possession rate hit 100% and her range became similar to melee champions, but instead, she cleverly avoided raising it too quickly.
She ignored the undamageable tanks and focused on poking the fragile damage dealers and supports.
Having already secured 10 kills, even a single hit was devastating.
When this extended to the jungler, they made a decision and ordered a full attack.
“You keep taunting us, but you’re dead!”
If Asteria retreated now, they could just return to Baron anyway.
With their top laner still maintaining health, they thought a 4v2 was worth trying and initiated.
Wait, what?
Contrary to expectations, despite only having 85% possession rate, she dashed forward.
When the enemy was committing so hard, it would be a waste not to engage.
Plus, she became isolated as she moved away from Lulu.
Their support, seeing the same opportunity, used their ultimate on her.
[Wild Growth!]
Lulu’s perfectly timed ultimate and polymorph.
Yet Asteria jumped past even this and targeted the ranged carry in the deepest part of Baron’s nest.
“What are you doing! Block her quickly or else!”
“Catch her fast!”
As mid and jungle hurried back, the top laner used their ultimate to protect the ADC, but…
Asteria disappeared before their eyes, leaving only a ward behind.
“What? Where did she go?”
“Hey, behind the wall…!”
[Possession Rate – 95% Range 1000]
Asteria bombarded indiscriminately from beyond the nest.
The ADC melted instantly, and the support trying to protect them died along with them.
They tried to abandon Baron, but it was too late.
She, who had become the incarnation of stars, did not forgive the traitors.
She jumped back into the nest with Pinecone Shot, dodging all CC abilities, and finally completed 100% possession rate.
“We’re completely screwed, damn it.”
[La Asteria Salva Errum]
With a motion of stars exploding in the sky, star fragments randomly pierced their surroundings.
And all they could see was Asteria’s cloak fluttering.
[Triple Kill!]
With 5 star fragments, the Apostate’s Chain is broken.
[Quadra Kill!]
With 10 star fragments, the Watcher’s Shotgun is destroyed.
[Your team has stolen Baron Duke!]
And even the Blacksmith, who stood his ground until the final moment, had to kneel under the radiance of the stars.
[Penta Kill!]
“No way…”
* * *
People say that looking only at Asteria’s late-game carry potential doesn’t work in solo queue because games end before that point.
But I disagreed with that opinion.
More specifically, I disagreed with using armor penetration items on “Asteria” itself.
Of course, with such item builds, considering Asteria’s current tier, it was only natural that the average win rate would be in the low 40% range.
So hitting a 50% win rate would happen around the 30-minute mark.
But to enhance early growth potential and use it to drive the game, I thought building attack speed was the right approach no matter how I looked at it.
Until the increase in range becomes imperceptible to enemies.
They would underestimate Asteria, only to be caught off guard when she suddenly became untouchable.
With Lulu’s excellent laning capabilities and ultimate used at the right timing, I concluded that theoretically, this combination had no disadvantageous timing at any point in the game.
[Victory!]
“Whew. That’s it, everyone!”
After my pentakill, the enemies lost their fighting spirit, and it didn’t take long for their citadel to fall.
Sia’s support from behind was also essential to our victory.
When I was relentlessly pushing the enemies as Asteria, she was always by my side.
When I intentionally allowed enemies to approach, she seemed to read my mind perfectly, using polymorph and her ultimate to execute flawless baiting plays.
[User ‘Largo’ donated 110,000 won!]
-22 kills in total? Seriously?
“Thank you so much Largo for the 5,000 won per kill mission!!! Our NoName is amazing, right? I’ll spin the donation roulette later when I’m alone.”
[User ‘NightSkyHye’ donated 10,000 won!]
-A pentakill on the first stream? This collab is already looking suspicious
“Thank you NightSkyHye for the 10,000 won donation!”
So many people are celebrating our victory.
Some with money, others with premium fireworks, each expressing their emotions in their own way.
‘Congratulations.’
I turned around at that voice, but
All I felt was the ticklish northwest wind brushing against my cheek.
“Yeah… thanks.”
[Joining voice chat: NoName, IfSunnyFallsThenNightComes (2/2)]
“Sorry for leaving without saying anything.”
“Whoa! You scared me by suddenly leaving. You’re seriously good!”
My appearance changed from the tall Asteria back to tiny No-name.
“Want to say something to the viewers? Since we’re streaming together, you should say something, right?”
“Hmm…”
I observe the cascade of chat messages.
From congratulations to people saying they’ve fallen for my gameplay, many people were genuinely curious about “me.”
In short, questions made up the majority.
-hi hi
-face reveal is insane
-is NoName really a woman?
-woman? lol just another catfish
-typical catfish (who gets pentakill with Asteria first game)
-I’d simp even if you’re a guy
-how old are you?
-what’s your relationship with IfSunnyFallsThenNightComes?
-with this skill why aren’t you climbing out of bronze?
-playing 8000 games a year, really curious about your real life lol
-you barely played recently, any reason you quit?
“Woman… probably yes. But I don’t want to be simped for even if I were a man.”
“I’m seven years old since my birthday hasn’t passed yet.”
“We’re in the same clan.”
“I don’t care much about tier.”
“My real life is a bit difficult to talk about.”
“I lost my reason to play games.”
As I was diligently answering each question, Sia stopped me.
“Namei! I didn’t mean you had to answer every question, haha.”
“You could have told me sooner.”
You deliberately told me late, didn’t you?
But Sia skillfully dodged by suggesting we move on to the next game.
“I was planning to ask you slowly while we played, but you’ve already said everything?”
“I won’t be turning off my mic anymore.”
“Hehe. Shall we go then? Are we doing the Asteria-Lulu combo again?”
“No, I want to play Kai’Sa this time.”
I wanted to feel the wind.
The cool northwest wind.
