Of course, just because I acquired that big, beautiful missile enthusiast’s starship didn’t mean I could immediately dominate everything.

That’s how games work—and everything else in this world.

And as we could recall from when we first obtained the Kraken…

In this world, a maxed-out common rank was typically stronger than a level 1 SSS-rank.

“The leveling work will be finished in a few minutes.”

    “What happens when it’s done?”

“Don’t you know? That’s when the actual leveling begins.”

    “Ah… yes.”

Just like when we were raising the Kraken, Hresvelgr also began the endless leveling process.

Of course, the reason we were rushing into this leveling work was because of the event that would follow the “Ancient Base Ruins Exploration” event that users were currently participating in.

The “Ancient Empire Capital” event would be a “group” event where users would need to band together.

“The next event will obviously focus on fleet battles.”

    “Is that so?”

“Yeah, that’s how it was when I played.”

Since fleet battles would be an essential part of that group event, beyond just enjoying the event more thoroughly…

Our fleet’s combat capability was in a severely weakened state after being completely decimated, making Hresvelgr’s leveling an absolutely necessary endeavor.

However, unlike the Kraken, Hresvelgr had two disadvantages when it came to leveling…

    First problem:

    *BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!*

    “Truly a glorious sight.”

    “It’s certainly spectacular.”

Given that it could launch thousands of missiles on its own…

It was only natural that it would unleash overwhelming firepower against unaffiliated pirate groups or raiders that would regenerate and appear at any time.

The problem was that if such enemies didn’t spawn, there was no way to level up except for “mobility training” exercises.

“The Kraken was really easy to raise, wasn’t it?”

    “I suppose so.”

While the Kraken was technically an assault carrier, it was strictly speaking a living monster.

If there were no enemies, we could just throw it some captured or obsolete ships scheduled for decommissioning, or even just resources, and it would level up (grow) on its own.

Our Hresvelgr, with its name from Norse mythology, was just an ordinary mechanical starship built by the Earth Federation.

So it was only natural that there was no other way to level it up.

Of course, since monsters had such an overpowered leveling method, other factions had much better performance at lower levels than monsters did.

But since we were focusing on growth through leveling, I deliberately chose not to mention that.

And because of this first problem, the severity of the second problem was intensified…

That problem was that we didn’t have much time left until the next event would begin, based on the users’ event completion rate.

Title: Users are clearing the event faster than expected

    Author: Anonymous

Content: [Proof of searching for “event clear” and similar keywords in the gallery]

I searched the gallery and found nearly 20,000-30,000 verification posts.

At this rate, I think more than half the users will complete it within a week at most?

    Comments:

-[These rabbit bastards, they’re diligently filling their power meters with nothing better to do]

-[The fastest clear time was just 27 or 29 hours, so this is to be expected]

-[Hasn’t it only been 3 days since the event started? Why are there so many clears?]

-[Do they just eat and do the event?]

-˪[Honestly, in the current situation, there’s nothing else to do but eat and do the event]

Title: This event will seriously end in 2-3 days

    Author: Anonymous

Content: [Image predicting the percentage of users not using the gallery]

The gallery has about 110,000 floating users, and nearly 30,000 of them have already cleared the event.

But most users don’t actually post or comment in the gallery, they just lurk.

Taking those users into account, at least 100,000 to 200,000 must have cleared it by now.

    Comments:

    -[Oh…]

-[Have that many people really cleared it already?]

-˪[Yeah, most people I know who don’t lurk in the gallery have cleared it but haven’t posted verification]

    -[Ah, I see]

-[Honestly, it’s random so you might get something that doesn’t suit you if you’re unlucky, but even considering that, the difficulty isn’t that high]

Title: The individual event itself seems to have been designed to be easy

    Author: Black&Cow

    Content: [Event clear verification screenshot]

There’s been a lot of talk about randomness making things not match up with certain users.

But even considering that, they designed the level to be clearable by anyone.

For dungeon exploration types, you can clear it by just throwing in one SSS-rank Superhuman.

According to my friends, for events where you explore with ships, you just need to scatter a few fast ships and that’s it…

    Comments:

    -[I think this is correct]

-[I actually struggled at first when I encountered some weird gimmick, but clearing it wasn’t that difficult]

-[For dungeon exploration, I brought five SS-rank characters, and the enemy boss turned out to be just S-rank lol]

-˪[But considering the rewards are D-rank if you’re unlucky, and A to S-rank on average, it makes sense]

-˪[Now that you mention it, that’s true. The reward is S-rank, so the boss is S-rank too]

    “Hmm.”

While there was a lot of miscellaneous information, the summary was that the user completion rate would exceed 50% in three days to a week at most.

So the time remaining for our Hresvelgr’s leveling was quite urgent, unlike when we were leveling the Kraken.

However, apart from Hresvelgr’s leveling, I had more things to do.

    “Oh, Commander?”

    “What is it?”

    “The base upgrade is complete!”

    “Oh.”

    —————————————-

    <<<Base Level 7 Upgrade Complete!>>>

    —————————————-

Our base’s level 7 upgrade, which I had almost forgotten about because it took so long, was finally complete.

    “At lath!”

    “Don’t you mean ‘at last’?”

“That’s not important. What’s important is that we don’t have time to hesitate now.”

Seeing that welcome “construction complete” message after such a long time, I immediately brought up the facility list as I always did.

And as always, I had to let out a sigh at the insane prices that were still hard to get used to.

    —————————————-

    <Available Base Upgrade Facilities>

    <Additional Docking Facility> (Minerals 15,000, Rare Resources 2,000) <NEW!>

    <Resource Warehouse> (Minerals 9,000, Rare Resources 500) <NEW!>

    <Air Command Headquarters> (Minerals 252,700, Rare Resources 35,000) <NEW!>

    <Fleet Association> (Minerals 350,000, Rare Resources 49,000) <NEW!>

    <Special Design Management Bureau> (Minerals 181,500, Rare Resources 55,000) <NEW!>

    —————————————-

    “Hmmmm…”

Now they were not only demanding minerals but rare resources as well.

Anyone would sigh at the sight of facilities requiring so many resources that building just one would make base operations stagger.

    But that was only momentary.

“Jessica, how many resources do we have left?”

“We have about 400,000 minerals, and rare resources… hmm… about 53,000.”

    “Perfect.”

Hearing about our appropriately remaining resources, I realized we could build at least one facility and decided to take some time to carefully consider.
