To summarize the situation over the past 5 days, including the first day:

    Day 1.

Enemy forces: 1 destroyer, 2 frigates, 2 patrol ships.

Through our first real battle, everyone’s teamwork improved and so on…

“Things went more smoothly than I expected!” -Jessica.

    Day 2.

Enemy forces: 2 destroyers, 5 frigates.

Despite the exponentially increased forces, we somehow managed to handle it.

Due to insufficient personnel and base upgrades, all captured ships were sunk for Pashtra’s leveling.

“The enemy forces are suddenly increasing. Was it always like this?” -Jessica.

    Day 3.

Enemy forces: 2 destroyers, 3 frigates, 7 patrol ships.

We had just built 1 destroyer, 1 frigate, and 8 patrol ships.

We chose to board and occupy one enemy destroyer while countering the rest through direct confrontation using Pashtra’s powerful artillery skills.

However, the pirate boss, refusing to let us take his ship, tried to overload the destroyer’s fusion reactor for self-destruction.

We barely managed to escape, but the destroyer was ultimately sunk.

The other destroyer attempted to board our destroyer and performed various annoying maneuvers, making them quite troublesome opponents.

    “…This seems rather dangerous.” -Jessica.

    Day 4.

This time only 3 destroyers came, making us think the madness had finally ended.

But that thought couldn’t have been more wrong.

Instead of shells and missiles, the enemy destroyers mindlessly deployed boarding pods of various sizes and numbers.

    -“Join! The Helldi—”

    -“Aaaaaahhhhh”

As a result, Ignis had to jump between ships to block pirates’ infiltration attempts.

Those who assaulted our base were countered by Berial controlling her doll units in a thorough defensive battle.

Of course, this was only possible after using Pashtra’s power to destroy one destroyer from the start.

It was truly a horrific day.

“When they reached the command center, I really thought this might be the end.” -Jessica.

    And on Day 5.

They employed every method except for the boarding tactics from Day 4.

All of us ended up completely exhausted.

    ———-

Naturally, we weren’t the only ones suffering.

People were backstabbing these newbies as soon as they appeared.

I couldn’t help but shake my head at the jungle-like savagery. But honestly, I couldn’t just laugh at those people either.

Like all those victims and villains in the gallery, while my base wasn’t burning…

“Commander, here’s today’s resource status report.”

    “Hmm…”

“We obtained 175 from each of the three resource mining ships, totaling 525, but considering the resources spent on ship repairs and base repairs… we’re in the negative.”

    “…Sigh.”

To better withstand those damn pirates, I needed to upgrade the base further.

That would allow me to use the numerous destroyer and cruiser blueprints I had accumulated.

The problem was, as Jessica’s report indicated:

    “Minerals, we need minerals…!”

    “Indeed.”

With resources constantly being spent on repairing damage from pirates and repairing or building new ships, we were severely lacking the minerals needed for base upgrades.

Of course, I had already completed all the minor upgrades that were available.

‘Ah, I want it so badly!’

The lack of resources was relentlessly holding me back.

I had been rushing to build additional resource mining ships, but the shipyard had been busy producing patrol ships and destroyers, leaving no space.

Only yesterday did one slot finally become available.

I made the difficult decision to forgo additional ship production and instead ordered the construction of a resource mining ship.

If the newly produced mining ship could deploy and bring in additional resources before tomorrow…

My base’s resource situation would finally see some relief.

    ==========

    But the next morning.

Right after waking up with high expectations.

“Commander, the pirates have attacked our resource zone instead of the base this time!”

    “…”

I felt the urge to let out a roar of genuine anger at the developers for unnecessarily adding variations to this event.
