Ch.208Storm Observation Class (2)

“Alright!! Take my hand! Quickly!!”
Violet displayed her professionalism by extending her hand toward me.
I immediately grabbed Violet’s hand.
“Violet’s hand was generally cool, but contained a slight warmth within it…”
“Stop with the weird narration!! You sound like a pervert! Seriously!!”
Violet shouted loudly.
Woooong-!!
Then the status window vibrated.
‘Memory of the Strong’
Two windows appeared under that item.
‘Shoji’s Memory: Though he wasn’t supposed to die so meaninglessly, Shoji was unlucky. However, we can’t underestimate his abilities because of luck. Shoji is strong. For defeating such a strong person, you are blessed with the power of courage. Strength and Speed increase by 5.’
I expected that one… but I didn’t anticipate the second window.
‘Memory of Planet Paska: You’re probably the only human on Earth who has destroyed a planet. You can proudly boast about being strong enough to destroy a planet by yourself. Strength increases by 10.’
All I did was aim through a scope and click, yet my strength increases by 10. Quite a profitable business.
I immediately converted both memories.
“Ohhh…!!”
Power was overflowing through my body.
“Hmph. You seem pleased with the reward.”
Blue Beard said with a smile.
“Wow!!! I don’t think I’ll lose to anyone now!”
I shouted loudly.
“Ha. ‘Don’t think I’ll lose,’ you say. Indeed, things have been going smoothly so far. However, Pink Beard is more cunning than you might think. I hope you won’t let your guard down.”
Blue Beard said.
“Got it! Pootimus Prime!”
I nodded immediately.
“Pootimus Prime…? What’s that?”
Blue Beard tilted his head.
“It’s nothing.”
I shook my head.
He was acting too cool for a refugee, so I couldn’t help but make that comment.
“………”
Meanwhile, my eyes met Violet’s.
“Wh-what is it? Going to act weird again?”
Violet looked at me with suspicious eyes.
“No. I just wanted to say thank you.”
That’s what I said.
“That doesn’t suit you at all! What are you suddenly saying?!”
Violet shouted, her face slightly reddening from the unexpected gratitude.
Hehehe. When you act like a jerk and then suddenly show kindness, the impact is much greater. Now that I’ve built up one point in my kindness stack, it’s time to fill up my jerk stack again. I made that resolution once more.
———
Anyway, I decided to tackle the dungeon right away.
Sasits said he would run through the dungeon with Prill. Sigh… bringing a girl to a sacred training ground seems a bit much… but well, they’re at that passionate age, so I’ll let it slide.
I ran the one-day dungeon called the Undead Fortress.
It was a dungeon I could navigate with my eyes closed by now.
“Hueeerk!!”
“Huerk!!”
The undead patterns were too predictable.
Clang-!
After blocking an attack with my sword, I immediately swung it wide.
Swoosh!!!
With that, the undead’s bones collapsed with a crackling sound.
Crack-!!
Just before my sword’s durability reached its limit, I grabbed an undead’s arm bone.
“Die!!!!”
Crack-!!
The club-like arm bone shattered another undead’s skull.
Right after that, I secured the shortest route to the fortress where the boss was.
“Hahahahaha! You’ve come! Hero!!”
The necromancer uttered his now predictable line and tried to cast a spell.
But it was too late.
Whoosh!!
I had already closed the distance to the necromancer.
Stab-!!
The crude sword I obtained from an undead pierced through the necromancer’s stomach.
“Hyaaah!!”
After stabbing the sword into his stomach, I immediately kicked the sword with my knee.
Splat-!!
With that, the necromancer collapsed, spilling his entrails everywhere.
That’s the problem with magic users. Why do they think I’ll politely wait while they chant their spells?
Ding-!!
My level immediately rose to 69.
“69… what a lewd number. I need to level up quickly to make it 70.”
I immediately escaped the dungeon.
———
The leveling dungeon had a restriction of only one run per day. So I had no choice but to run the weapon dungeon.
Sasits and Prill… seemed to still be in the dungeon. I wonder if they’re actually running the dungeon or having a late-night date.
Anyway, I headed straight for the Sword Dungeon.
“A mortal!! Kill him!! Make him despair!!”
“Hahahahaha!!!”
The setting where demons pour out from the gate remained the same.
However, I had no interest in petty demons now. Grinding these guys in circles wouldn’t increase my sword proficiency much anymore.
I had already discovered a sweet spot for raising proficiency last time.
Rumble-!!
A monster covered in tumors all over its body jumped out.
It was Training Dummy #1, which I had used before.
“Anakin!! I’m here!!”
I immediately ran toward it.
“Anakin? What nonsense!! My name is…!!”
The demon looked at me like I was an idiot.
“I see… in this world line, you don’t remember me…”
Everything resets when you enter and exit the dungeon.
“Huh… why are tears…?”
It was too sad that the friendship between me and Training Dummy #1 had been erased. Even the memories of amicably dismembering each other… were they all gone?
“Stop talking nonsense and come at me!!!!! You mortal!!”
The demon shouted, bursting a tumor on its head.
“Anakin!! Open your eyes!!!! Chairman Palpatine is deceiving you!!”
I said resolutely, raising my sword.
“Yeah!! Keep spouting nonsense until your dying breath!!!”
The demon immediately charged at me.
“Hyaaah!!”
I immediately swung my sword and rushed toward it.
Slash-!!
Despite the reset, its strength remained the same.
“Uwaaaaah!!!”
The demon’s limbs immediately turned into minced meat and scattered.
“Now!! Let’s train proficiency together!!”
I dragged Training Dummy #1, which now had only its torso left.
“You crazy bastard!! Just kill me!!!!”
The demon screamed and protested.
———
In a corner where other demons wouldn’t respawn, I was busy slashing the training dummy with my sword.
It was a repetitive process of happily slicing away with my sword and healing when the damage seemed too severe.
About an hour later.
“Please… please spare me…!! What did I ever do to deserve this…!!”
The demon shed tears, begging for its life.
Slash-!!
Silently, I delivered a head strike to the demon’s brow. With that, the demon’s body was split in two.
Rumble-! Rumble-!!
But Training Dummy #1’s regenerative power was too overwhelming. Its body reconnected in no time.
Ding-!
Thanks to an hour of diligent training, my proficiency was approaching 800. Once it hits 1000, I should get some kind of sword fragment or something.
Well, I think that’s enough for today. I put away my sword and patted Training Dummy #1’s head.
“See you tomorrow, Anakin.”
“Shut up… you bastard….. huhuhuhuk….!”
Perhaps hit with the reality of its miserable situation, Training Dummy #1 finally shed tears.
And so I returned home after a productive dungeon run.
———-
The next day, at school.
As soon as I arrived, someone walked briskly toward me.
It was Saito Kana. She always had a fierce expression, but today it was particularly intense.
“You haven’t been coming to the kendo dojo lately!! What’s going on?”
Kana asked.
“Ah… I really had some unavoidable matters.”
That’s what I said.
“Is it a girl?”
Kana glared at me suspiciously.
Yes, that’s right. I almost blurted out that line.
“Really… being this irresponsible!! Your talent is being wasted!! This won’t do. As your rival, I need to manage you…”
With cloudy eyes, Kana seemed to be formulating something resembling a kidnapping plan.
It seemed like admitting to chasing girls here would lead to big trouble. Yes, it was intuition.
“Ah… I didn’t want to say this.”
I sighed dramatically.
“Are you trying to brush me off with nonsense again? I won’t fall for it twice.”
Kana glared at me.
Wait, for someone who claims not to fall for it twice, haven’t you fallen for it many times? I almost retorted.
“I’ve been practicing a new technique… but it ruins the surprise if I tell you.”
I said, scratching my head.
“N-new technique…!”
Being a swordswoman herself, Kana seemed intrigued by those words.
“I’ve been developing a technique to beat you. And… it’s almost complete.”
Since I was already lying, I decided to go all out.
“Ha! Such bluster…!!”
Kana tried to maintain a haughty expression as she spoke.
“I’ll show you at the dojo tomorrow. I’ll definitely be there. Just wait until then, Kana.”
I spoke in a tone as if I were issuing a duel challenge.
“…O-okay.”
But strangely, Kana was blushing and couldn’t maintain eye contact. What’s going on?
Anyway, after delivering her message, Kana scurried away. Her friends patted her shoulders, congratulating her on something.
“That’s great, Kana! He wasn’t avoiding you because he disliked you!”
“And he even promised to meet you at the dojo tomorrow!”
“I told you, right? You weren’t being hated!”
The girls made a fuss.
“I-I wasn’t particularly concerned about whether he hated me or not!”
Kana protested, her face reddening.
“Hehehe. Kana, you’re so cute.”
The girls immediately hugged Kana.
Well… it’s a gentleman’s courtesy to pretend not to hear girls’ conversations…!!
Just before homeroom started, Eri walked toward me.
“Shota. After school today. You know, right?”
Eri winked at me.
“Ah. Of course.”
I need to attend the kindergarten observation class for our cute little sisters-in-law. I was already looking forward to after school.
