Chapter Index

Just 3 seconds after receiving notification that the crew had boarded and they would soon begin a test run.

Before my eyes, information about what exactly this ship was popped up with a cheerful chime.

<Ancient Empire Prototype Special Ship Acquired!>

    <‘Neranjara’-class Subspace Submersible Ship x1>

    —————————————-

As this was a ship class I had neither seen nor heard of during my gaming days, I couldn’t help but tilt my head in confusion.

    ‘What is this thing?’

And Jessica, who was looking at the message beside me, felt the same way.

“Commander, what kind of ship is this exactly?”

“I’m seeing it for the first time too, so I’m not sure.”

While our superhuman friends were bringing back the brain-scrambled Ba-ssinja who was screaming “I’m just a worthless female!!”, and simultaneously our forces were retrieving that ‘Neranjara’ ship, I decided to search the wiki tab to figure out what kind of ship it was.

    But…

    —————————————-

    -<‘Neranjara’ search results: None>

-<‘Subspace Submersible Ship’ search results: None>

    —————————————-

    “Huh, nothing’s coming up?”

    “…Hmm.”

Unfortunately, there was absolutely no information about the Neranjara in the wiki tab.

Of course, since only a few dozen users officially appointed as “Wiki Historians” could actually write articles there, it was possible for information to be missing sometimes. Keeping that in mind, I decided to search the entire ‘Gallery’ instead.

“Commander, if it’s not in the wiki, could it be in the gallery?”

“That’s right. The wiki tab only contains ‘facts’ that have been thoroughly verified by Wiki Historians and their associated personnel.”

    “Is that so?”

“Of course, there are people who post analysis articles in the gallery too, but until they’re verified by the Wiki Historians, they can’t be recognized as ‘facts’ and are treated as regular posts.”

After briefly explaining this to Jessica, I checked the search results for Neranjara in the gallery.

I found the most highly recommended ‘analysis post’ and immediately opened it to check the information.

But when I read this regular post analyzing the Neranjara, I felt a chill run down my spine…

The reason was none other than discovering that this ‘Subspace Submersible Ship Neranjara’ was literally a ship that operated on a different ‘dimension’ compared to other ships.

    —————————————-

Title: Y’all Know About the Neranjara Ship?

    Author: Volcano

    Content: [Neranjara concept art]

It’s a ship rarely found in ancient empire ruins

Slightly smaller than a destroyer, with pathetic armor and weapons that are all torpedoes

Air defense is limited to just 4 anti-aircraft missile launchers, so it literally gets physically torn apart if even a few carrier aircraft attack it

It’s pretty far from the overtech you’d expect from the Ancient Empire

But what makes this thing insanely awesome is

It’s the only ship in this game that can function as a ‘submarine’

According to the lore, it can enter subspace that contrasts with our current dimension, and from there it can just one-sidedly attack enemies without getting hit back lolololol

Of course, it can’t stay in subspace indefinitely, but if you level it up and set up the equipment properly, you can extend that time quite a bit

Oh but the only thing that can hit enemy ships from subspace is its special self-regenerating torpedoes

If you try using regular torpedoes hoping to do more damage, they just endlessly travel through subspace and disappear

I’m mentioning this because I once used one of these to render 5 battleships useless in a single battle

Since lots of Ancient Empire ruins are appearing now, I figure someone might get one of these

    Man, that thing was sweet

    Comments:

-[Just hearing about it makes it sound like an overpowered ship that can one-sidedly wreck enemies]

-[It can attack without getting hit back? Isn’t that just a broken OP ship?]

-˪[Yeah that’s why it has pathetic armor that gets riddled with holes from aircraft machine gun fire, not even missiles](Author)

-[Isn’t this that legendary ship where the subspace diving equipment and structure amplifies radar signals, making it appear battlecruiser-sized on radar? lol]

    -˪[Someone here knows their stuff, that’s correct](Author)

-[The structure of firing unavoidable torpedoes sucks for those on the receiving end, but the torpedo damage seems a bit weak, probably for balance reasons]

-[You need to aim for vital parts or weaknesses, gotta shoot cleanly at the engine thrusters]

-[Above comment is totally right, people tend to just fire away thinking the special torpedoes are similar in power to medium torpedoes]

-˪[The firepower is actually slightly worse than regular light torpedoes, and it emerges from subspace about 5-6 seconds before impact, so it can be intercepted]

    —————————————-

There were many more brick-like comments, but to summarize, it was a ship that embodied the principle of “you can’t hit me, but I can one-sidedly beat you up.”

    “That’s amazing.”

    “It really is.”

Of course, right now it was just a level 1 newborn baby in superhuman terms, so it would need plenty of upgrades, equipment, and leveling in the future…

But unlike light carriers where you have to cycle through aircraft—wasting hundreds or thousands of minerals each time—for leveling.

I thought it would be sufficient to just keep it safely in subspace and have it spew torpedoes to kill pirates.

And even if we hadn’t obtained this Neranjara-class ship, the “Rain” character being captured and brought back by our superhumans was also quite a sweet reward.

I brought up the character window I had seen earlier.

    —————————————-

    <Rain>

    <Level 39>

    <Type: Support>

<Traits: Powerless, Survivalist, Resource Management, Being Brainwashed>

    <Stats>

    Health: D+

    Attack Power: D-

    Physical Defense: A+

    Magic Power: S+

    Magic Defense: A-

    Mobility: D-

    —————————————-

As evident from the “Survivalist” and “Resource Management” traits listed there.

Rain’s identity was none other than a character who could provide the “resource buff” I had been searching for all this time.

    —————————————-

Title: S-Rank Resource Supporter Rain Explanation

    Author: Wiki Historian mk-32

Content: [Rain concept art], [Stats display]

Whether obtained through gacha or other means, this is a resource supporter character that most users keep on hand

Her actual performance is terrible for an S-rank

First, her combat ability is trash-tier, so if you send her to the frontlines, she’ll get punched in the stomach and moan in pain even against B-rank superhumans, let alone A-rank ones

Plus, due to her survivalist trait, she’ll immediately surrender to save herself if she thinks she’s going to die

But what idiot would put a resource supporter on the frontlines?

She’s not meant for direct combat in the first place, but to be stashed in your base to increase resource acquisition rates

So to talk about her specific abilities:

She increases the base’s inherent resource production rate by about 1.5 times, and also improves resource fleet mining amounts by about 5%

    That should be enough

    Comments:

-[She’s someone whose morale collapses as soon as you deploy her to the front lines lolol]

-[With D- physical ability, she’s worse than a normal person, so isn’t that obvious?]

-[Just keep her stashed in the base and use her like an administrator, that’s the best approach]

    —————————————-

“A resource buff character, this is truly precious.”

“Finally, our base will have someone like this.”

Resource supporter, what a wonderful title.

Moreover, as stated in the wiki tab, she was meant to serve solely as a resource buff totem for the base, incapable of and uninterested in direct combat.

So there was no risk of having our ship hijacked by putting this once-treacherous woman on board for leveling.

That’s why as soon as our superhumans brought Rain back, I brought up this topic…

But the problem arose the moment I mentioned this.

“Oh my, Commander, does that mean you don’t need to take this woman around with you?”

“That’s right, she just needs to stay at the base.”

“Oh my, oh my, oh my, in that case…”

Our Gri-gri Griyanar showed a maniacal gleam in her eyes and dragged Rain somewhere…

    Just a few hours later.

When Griyanar proudly showed us Rain, who had been buried in the flesh walls and integrated with the base facilities as a living component.

I began to wonder where I should even begin to tackle this issue.
