Ch.206Chapter 206 – Becoming the Academy’s Official Repairman
by fnovelpia
Second Year, Second Semester.
Only two years remained until graduation from the Academy.
“How did I already reach the second semester of my second year?”
I gazed out the window at the Academy below, reflecting on the time that had passed.
The first goal I set after arriving in this world through Epitrina had already been achieved.
Namely, meeting Mina Endras, my favorite heroine from Erasto Chronicle.
In the process of heading to Glesius Academy to meet Mina, I encountered Jason and Serin Ekatos, and after various twists and turns, I finally reached Archenium.
Not long after setting up my repair shop near the Academy, I met Mina.
Afterward, while repairing the crystal orb attached to Mina’s magic wand, I met Elena.
To be honest, my first meeting with Elena wasn’t particularly pleasant.
However, once the misunderstanding was cleared up, my relationship with Elena somehow recovered to a reasonably good level.
Later, when the Chancellor heard about me, he recognized my talent and specially admitted me to Glesius Academy.
The first person I met upon entering the Academy was the Principal.
Using my ability, I restored the Principal, who had been turned into a child due to the Curse of Regression, back to normal.
Afterward, there was a somewhat unpleasant incident, but it was somehow resolved well through the Principal’s intervention.
Then, I met with His Majesty the Emperor, treated his baldness, and even destroyed a magic sword, earning the title “Magic Sword Destroyer.”
I met Eterna Lumio Sol, the Saint of the Sun Order.
After that, I cured Aisen Beventus, the daughter of Margrave Beventus, of Prezmerine disease.
I participated in the Founding Festival, received a Count title, and then met Her Highness the Imperial Princess.
And then, while on my way to fix the Heart of Extreme Flame, I was accidentally teleported alone, but thanks to that, I was able to repair the Heart of Extreme Flame with ease.
Afterward, I attracted people’s attention through an incredible performance by treating baldness at the autumn festival.
Next, I followed Shreka, the High Elf Grand Elder, to the World Tree and repaired it.
After fixing the World Tree, I headed to the Liu Empire, and along the way, I even calmed a tremendous storm.
In the Liu Empire, I healed many people including the Emperor, and most importantly, I healed the Celestial Horse and received much help from her.
However, due to an attack by the Demon Cult, I ended up dying in an explosion on my way back…
Thanks to the help of Eterna, Sister Regina, and the Celestial Horse, I was able to come back to life through a resurrection ritual.
That was the story of what I had experienced since coming to this world.
In just a year and six months—a period that feels both long and short—I had accomplished an incredible number of things.
“Now it’s just two years until graduation.”
After the Empire declared war against the Demon Cult, the Academy began shifting most of its classes to focus on practical training.
Some students complained about the practical-oriented classes.
However, in a situation where the Demon Cult could appear and attack anywhere at any time, it would be unreasonable to learn only theoretical knowledge from behind a desk.
After all, knowledge is only useful when you can apply it.
In exchange, the Academy significantly increased the stipends provided to students.
As a result, the complaints from students disappeared instantly.
Indeed, a large sum of money tends to quietly suppress most complaints.
‘However, since I still have special qualification status, I don’t need to take separate exams…’
This doesn’t apply to me.
Why?
You can’t openly ask someone who died and came back to life to fight against the Demon Cult, can you?
Instead, I planned to help the students and those fighting the Demon Cult in my own way.
“Pathos. Are you ready?”
“Yes, Sister.”
While I was looking out the window, Sister Regina called for me, apparently because it was time.
Since getting my second chance at life, I’ve been living with Sister Regina in her quarters.
When I asked if I should get a new dormitory room and move out, Sister Regina said:
“Since we’ll eventually have to live together after our marriage ceremony and becoming husband and wife, wouldn’t it be better to just start living together now?”
I couldn’t say anything in response.
I had actually been thinking about marrying Sister Regina, and moreover, the construction of new dormitories would take more time.
So now, Sister Regina and I were essentially living like a married couple, just without having held the wedding ceremony.
Because of this, on days like today when we needed to go somewhere, Sister Regina would wake me up.
“You know that today marks the beginning of the second semester of your second year, right?”
“Of course I know.”
“Good. From this semester, you’ll be repairing all the equipment used by students. Although you’ve already agreed to this, I thought I should remind you once more.”
“I definitely remember that.”
The new position I was taking on for the students of Glesius Academy was that of the ‘Academy’s Official Repair Technician.’
Previously, the Academy had employed craftsmen to inspect and maintain students’ equipment, but given the current situation, most of those craftsmen had left the Academy.
The Academy had promised to pay more than before, but for the craftsmen, safety was the priority, and they decided it would be difficult to continue working at the Academy, which could be targeted by the Demon Cult.
So Sister Regina asked me to repair the equipment of the Academy students, and I accepted her proposal.
“Probably no one else could match you in this job.”
I nodded at Sister Regina’s words.
If nothing else, repairing equipment using my ability is what I do best.
“Should I start today?”
“Yes. The workshop previously used by the craftsmen has been closed, so there’s a building between the lecture hall and the dormitory. From now on, you’ll conduct your repair work there.”
“A new shop, then.”
“That’s right. A new shop.”
A new shop.
Until now, I was just an ability user with an unusual power, but from today, I would officially begin activities as the Academy’s official repair technician.
“Then I’ll head to the shop.”
“Hmm? Aren’t you attending any classes?”
“Does anyone know that I’ve become a repair technician?”
“Well… all the Academy students have been notified. Why?”
As I thought.
So all the Academy students knew that I had become the official repair technician.
With Sister Regina’s personality, I thought she would make sure to announce something like this clearly.
I was right.
“If it’s been announced, won’t everyone put aside their concerns about weapon damage and swing their weapons vigorously? If so, they might come to repair their weapons as soon as classes end.”
“Ah, that’s true. Come to think of it, except for the freshmen, everyone has experienced having their weapons repaired by you.”
“Plus, now they don’t need to use the gacha system anymore, so more students will come to have their equipment, including weapons, repaired.”
Excluding the fourth-year students who have already graduated, all the students who were in the first, second, and third years until last year know about my ability.
So it’s only natural that news of my ability would spread to the freshmen as well, right?
Therefore, it was entirely predictable that many students would come to have their equipment checked starting today.
“But will it be okay? If there are students who act up, demanding their equipment be repaired first…”
Eh. Since I died and came back to life, Sister Regina has been worrying about even the smallest things.
“It’s fine. What madman would act up against a Count who can have private audiences with both the Chancellor and His Majesty the Emperor?”
In this country, even a Duke cannot easily request a private meeting with the Imperial Chancellor and the Emperor.
But me?
I can.
His Majesty the Emperor even said during our last meeting, “Feel free to visit the Imperial Palace when you’re bored.”
“Hmm…”
“And if there is such a person… others will naturally restrain them. If I slip in some extra service for those who help me…”
“You mean other people will naturally restrain those who act up.”
“Correct.”
Even without my direct intervention, most students are favorably disposed toward me.
That’s why I’ve been providing many services to students all this time.
And as I expected, no one came to the shop to cause trouble.
However…
“Excuse me, can you also treat baldness?”
“Um, I have trouble getting it up down there, so maybe…”
“Haha, sorry, but my arm bone has been completely pulverized to the point where healing magic doesn’t work. Can you fix this too?”
“…”
More people came seeking body repairs rather than equipment repairs.
Life is truly unpredictable.
