Ch.198Don’t Put a Ship in My Dungeon, Never. (1)
by fnovelpia
Despite our persistent reconnaissance efforts, finding the ancient ruins or whatever took much more time than expected.
“Commander, nothing visible in this sector either.”
“Nothing there either!”
“Hmm, I don’t see what you’re looking for, Commander~♡”
“Tsk, then let’s search the First Forward Base next.”
“Understood.”
“Understood!”
“Yes♡”
Of course, both Jessica and I had anticipated this situation.
“It seems the lack of starships is really the main issue.”
“…You can say that again.”
Given this world’s characteristic of absurd scaling, the starships are ridiculously huge.
And because of that, the range of radars and such completely flips off physical laws with both hands.
But even so, how long would it take to search this vast space with barely 30 starships?
Just looking at those two users I saw earlier—I’d seen their fleet verification posts in the gallery before.
One claimed to have no fleet, but was actually running hundreds of small ships to utilize Superhumans.
The other, as shown in their gallery verification shot, had at least 12 cruiser battleships and dozens of escort vessels.
Compared to them, as mentioned above, searching with fewer than 30 ships excluding resource fleets made quick discovery seem virtually impossible.
So after pushing for more intensive searching,
I collected the rewards from incidentally completed daily quests and browsed through the gallery again.
But while I was focused on reconnaissance and collecting quest rewards, I noticed many posts about finding “dungeons” had appeared in the gallery.
The problem was, as I mentioned earlier, dungeons “suitable” for users weren’t that common.
And sometimes, regardless of suitability, there were dungeons people simply didn’t want to enter at all.

You called this a small dungeon
A SMALL DUNGEON!!!!
Since when did searching for a research facility dimension while traveling through multiple universes become a “small dungeon”!!!

FFS why just me
Those tentacles or feelers or whatever at the entrance keep wriggling and moving
So creepy

‘Multiple universes.’
It’s truly the epitome of absurdity, with users experiencing things I never saw during my gaming days.
Another guy apparently has to enter the body of some living creature.
I couldn’t possibly predict what kind of ordeal awaited me, seeing all these bizarre situations.
==========
But while I was looking at users’ weird verification shots in the gallery and handling rear operations with Jessica,
My excellent fleet and Superhuman friends successfully found a dungeon for me.
“Commander, we’ve discovered a dungeon!”
“Oh, really?”
At Ignis’s report, I ordered all the other fleets conducting reconnaissance to gather at that location.
Then I contacted Ignis again to ask for more details.
“Ignis, what form does the dungeon take?”
“Um, it’s an asteroid! There are abandoned factory-like facilities on the exterior!”
An asteroid with a base on the outside.
Compared to the users falling victim to absurdity, this seemed quite reasonable.
I figured we could examine the details once our scattered forces returned, and was about to tell Ignis to stand by, but…
“Oh, Commander, I almost forgot to report something.”
“You have more to report?”
“Yes, we’re detecting massive biological responses inside the asteroid!”
With Ignis’s additional report and the discovery of unidentified creatures—bugs or monsters—crawling on the asteroid’s surface,
I strongly felt like bombing the place as soon as the rest of the fleet arrived.
==========
Of course, such thoughts remained just ‘thoughts’.
“Commander, you’re not thinking of simply blasting away that delicious repository of knowledge, are you?”
Griyanar asked, leaning against her well-grown pet tentacle.
“They don’t seem to be created by our Queen, but sending them to Her Majesty might yield good results.”
Oxianor, a natural-born monster, didn’t care at all about how bizarre they might be.
“Hmm, somehow I feel it would be quite pleasant to bury myself in there.”
“Hey now, comparing such wild things to the ‘cradle’ I created with such care is a sin!”
Smeraghi, for some reason blushing and excited at the sight of “something” faintly visible in the asteroid’s craters and inside the base.
“Ohohoho, using such creatures could be quite fun too♡”
Pashtra, true to her busty perverted nun nature, with her face clearly showing inappropriate thoughts.
With 4 of the Superhumans sent for reconnaissance likely to drop in favorability if I suggested bombing, it wasn’t easy to speak freely.
Besides, even if all seven—including Berial, Ignis, and Partia—agreed to bombing, it wouldn’t matter because:

Title: Don’t get beaten up by bringing your fleet to reroll dungeons

I already knew this and was prepared to find it again if it disappeared, so I’m just showing this as an example
Attacking a small dungeon with your fleet because you don’t like it won’t gain you anything
You’ll just waste time finding the dungeon again
Also, if you enter and try to take over, the dungeon becomes invincible under system protection
Something about ancient imperial barrier technology being applied, they say
For reference, my dungeon is apartment complex-sized so I’m handling it with troops

Worried I might be misremembering, I searched the gallery and found this veteran’s tip post.
It confirmed that using my fleet to attack would only reset the dungeon’s location.
The important thing was that blasting the dungeon with the fleet wasn’t an option, so after all my Superhumans and fleet had assembled,
I decided to consider how to proceed based on detailed information about the dungeon.
