Ch.198198. Descent

Of course, realistically, this method was impossible to implement for both psychic beings and physical beings.

First of all, physical beings had no way to capture souls that are ejected into the psychic dimension at the moment of death, and even if they somehow managed to catch a soul, they wouldn’t know what to do with it.

The human body is, metaphorically speaking, a perfectly fitted garment for the soul. If another person (an injected soul) tries to enter that garment (the physical body), the garment inevitably becomes damaged or torn.

Furthermore, combining souls isn’t as simple as two people holding hands and magically fusing together—that’s just absurd. Even if you could cut souls apart and stitch them together, you’d just end up with a corpse held together by metaphysical sutures.

On the other hand, psychic beings are essentially “complete” small psychic life forms in their own right.

They remain absolutely unchanged from creation to dissolution, and any artificial attempt to fuse two psychic beings would only result in an entity with increased power output but fundamentally unchanged nature.

Therefore, since beings whose mental imagery constitutes their material world couldn’t be created from existing life forms, I instead tried to create a hybrid of a psychic being and an ordinary human…

The result was Cheshire—a being neither truly alive nor dead.

Although this artificial hybrid creation experiment failed, through this incident, I gained a deeper understanding of the psychic essence, and finally found a clue to the next stage that had previously been only vaguely conceived.

A state of omnipotence where mental imagery synchronizes with the world itself, where everything that happens in this world is merely my thought.

I learned about this stage… but this seemingly abstract realm remained just a goal.

Currently, I’m attempting to reach the level where I can make an entire galaxy my model garden, which has considerable merit.

Originally a being of the material world who later became a psychic being with the “divine right” to interfere with the world, I possessed both the expansibility of psychic beings and the growth capacity of biological organisms.

I felt somewhat despaired realizing that I myself was the hybrid of material world being and psychic life form that I had been trying so hard to create, but I’m not one to give up.

Assuming I just needed to follow a clear implementation method for my goal, I finally reached the next level in a limited way through the reality anchor of the completed terminal and the collective intelligence of countless humans.

    In other words…

Now, within isolated spaces and using the terminal, I can wield psychic powers that come infinitely close to reality manipulation.

    ※ ※ ※

Having obtained the power of reality manipulation, albeit quite limited, I methodically eliminated humanity’s means of resistance.

I subtly infiltrated interstellar communications conducted through psychic domains and blocked them, instantly severing the “Federation” into isolated planetary units.

I physically accessed their carefully hidden administrative networks, incinerated various documents, corrupted data to create distortions, and even reset and deleted all electronic accounts that served as the galaxy’s main currency.

With this, I simply cut off all means for humanity to resist me with fleets in space warfare. All that remained was to eliminate ground forces and transform the remaining humans into monsters.

    《Now, deploy.》

For this purpose, instead of the forces I had been using to narrow the technology gap, I deployed the latest monsters—even by my standards—and easily conquered planets one by one.

These monsters, designed without concern for aesthetic appearance unlike before, are nothing more than floating spheres of flesh about one meter in diameter.

However, these seemingly simple flesh spheres are equipped with all kinds of functions solely for mass destruction, the weakest and most basic being psychic waves.

With a range covering an entire planet, these waves are so powerful that ordinary people simply die instantly. Those with some resistance or training might survive but end up being controlled instead.

This wide-area brainwashing that’s impossible to resist unless you’re an elite of intermediate level or higher is merely a passive ability—there’s a reason I’ve been modifying these for thousands of years just for this moment.

Those killed by these psychic waves are affected by monster-transformation energy processed in psychic form, easily transforming corpses whose souls haven’t yet departed. The closer one gets, the stronger the psychic waves become, affecting even intermediate-level psychics.

If the psychic waves are concentrated on a single target, they can even control and transform high-level psychic users into monsters. If this were a novel, one might question the fairness of such a one-sided massacre.

Well, those flesh spheres are merely the weakest among the various attack methods I’ve prepared, so it’s just a matter of time.

From my perspective, it’s surprising that humanity is resisting even slightly, necessitating the deployment of weapons beyond the flesh spheres.

Perhaps due to the thousands of years of preparation, the end felt anticlimactically hollow despite the thoroughness of my planning.

    ※ ※ ※

Afterward, human planets began falling one by one into the hands of the hive mind controlling the monsters—or more precisely, into my hands.

I conducted various operations to reduce planets to tatters, scattered monster-transforming psychic energy, sent named entities to subdue those who resisted transformation, turned them into monsters, and then reversed planetary time to a specific point.

This restored all destroyed facilities while the inhabitants remained transformed into monsters, so when I later released the time freeze, the facilities would remain intact while the humans had become monsters.

Anyway, after about a month of frantically processing planets at high speed, only one planet remained—Earth.

It might seem like a rushed job, but I had actually reached the stage where I could cause collapse at any time hundreds of years ago, after methodically building up for thousands of years.

In other words, if I hadn’t been able to push forward so one-sidedly during that long time, it would have been better to just despair at my own incompetence and self-destruct.

    《…Ah.》

Anyway, back to the main point.

Since it had been so long since I visited Earth, I decided to personally conquer it by moving my completed terminal.

I could erase Earth from existence with a snap of my fingers, but that would go against my aesthetic principles.

With this thought in mind, I temporarily deactivated the staff and sword I was holding in my hand—which appeared to be wearing a glowing purple glove—and slowly began descending to the ground when—

    KWAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGANGGG!!!

    PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENG—!!!!!

    WOOOOOOOONG—TUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDU!!!!

Unexpectedly, it seemed the air defense systems were still operational, as humanity’s final forces unleashed attacks against me, but how could they possibly work?

Lasers, plasma, or bullets were easily destroyed just by approaching my completed terminal, an extremely powerful high-density energy entity.

Unfazed by the attacks, I raised my hand to adjust my energy to prevent the catastrophe of everything collapsing from the mere impact of my appearance, then “directly” attacked those soldiers trying to fulfill their duty to the end.

I didn’t fire psychically manifested matter or energy, didn’t crush them with overwhelming mass, didn’t attack them mentally to crush their brains, nor did I attack them physically.

I simply wielded a purple energy sword full of noise in one hand and swung it through the air, using that action as a trigger to overlay the “death” of the soldiers onto reality.

    《Without this, it just doesn’t feel real…》

I descended personally to feel the sense of achievement in finally completely devouring humanity, and the pleasure from wielding my full power after so long was indeed real.

After 3,000 years of restraint, I momentarily lost control of my full power and almost blew away the Earth, but that passed quickly.

    《Oops… that won’t do.》

    PUNG!

After attacking the brave soldiers who charged with bayonets instead of firing lasers that couldn’t affect me, I began floating toward my destination—the parliament where the prime minister and representatives were holding their positions.
