Ch.194The End of Survival (2)

“Sasith!!! Pull out all the Psychorobos and unleash every physical attack technique you have!!! Use the ones with high critical rates!!”

    I immediately directed Sasith.

    “Okay!! Got it!!”

    Sasith promptly followed my instructions.

“And the rest of you, protect Sasith with everything you’ve got!!”

I distributed roles to the remaining party members.

    “Okay!!”

Everyone, including Frill, nodded enthusiastically. When using Psychorobos, one becomes defenseless, you see. Sasith was the core of our strategy. If we failed to protect Sasith, we would lose.

“So Shota… what are you going to do?”

Worried about me, Umi looked in my direction.

Umi… she’s always too quick to catch on.

“I’ll do the most dangerous job, of course.”

I said with a slight grin.

If Rahitan’s threatening attacks came from multiple directions, we’d be finished. Even if all his attacks were area-of-effect, we needed to minimize their range to manage everyone’s safety.

It was time for the tank to step up.

    “Come forth!! Pinocchio!!”

    I immediately summoned Pinocchio.

    “Master…!!”

He was the type who always whined but did as told. If he didn’t listen? Honestly, I’d just abandon him.

    *Grab*

I gripped Pinocchio’s nose like a handle and pressed him against my body. It had been a while since I’d used the Pinocchio Shield.

    “Pinocchio!! Wood Enchant!!”

    I immediately gave Pinocchio instructions.

    “Uoooh!! Wood Enchant!!”

    Pinocchio shouted loudly.

    *Fwooooosh-!!!!!!*

As light emanated from Pinocchio’s body, translucent tree branches wrapped around me. This increased my defense. I could now fight while taking some hits.

    *Rustle-!!*

The tree branches immediately enveloped the Master’s Sword I was holding. This greatly extended the sword’s durability. The sharp wooden branches reinforcing the blade and enhancing its power was a bonus.

    “Come on!! Rahitan!!!”

I shouted while pounding on the Pinocchio Shield.

“Uhahahahat!!!! Not afraid to face me!!! Earthlings are brave creatures!!!!”

    Rahitan immediately charged toward me.

    “Die with that courage intact!!!!!!”

Rahitan swung his greatsword like flowing water.

There’s a common perception that large enemies are usually slow, but Rahitan was the opposite.

    “Giant’s Footwork!!!”

It was Rahitan’s technique. A skill that allowed him to move quickly like skating while keeping his feet firmly planted on the ground.

Yes, it was a technique to hide his weakness—the soles of his feet.

    “Uryaaaat!!!”

Rahitan swung his sword with great force.

    *Clang-! Clash-!! Ching-!! Clang-!!*

Sparks flew as our swords collided.

    “Ugh…!”

It was overwhelming to block alone. My body trembled each time I blocked with my shield or sword.

But the enchantment’s effect was working well. The cash I spent on this skill was worth it.

‘Fixed defense and attack increase, huh…’

The rising defense and attack power were only affected by skill level. There were no other stat coefficients.

It was a perfect skill for Pinocchio, whose base stats were low. Stat coefficients wouldn’t help much with his ant-crawling stats anyway.

    *Claaaang-!!*

Strengthening my arms with the Blazing Stance, I deflected Rahitan’s sword strike with all my might. With both speed and strength enhanced, I somehow managed to parry despite the weight difference.

    *Stagger-!!!*

    Rahitan stumbled.

    “Uryaaaaat!!!!”

I immediately leaped and swung my sword.

    *Clash-!!*

A long wound appeared on Rahitan’s body.

    *Spurt-!!*

Blood gushed out, but Rahitan didn’t flinch.

But I still had one more move.

    *Thwaaaack-!!!*

A shield can be a weapon if used as one. I swung my shield with all my might and struck Rahitan.

“Khat!!! Is that all you’ve got?! Huh?”

Wounds appeared on Rahitan’s body. However, Rahitan paid no attention to them. He wasn’t affected by stagger at all. Even slashing with Flash Strike would be meaningless. His maximum HP was on another level entirely. I had to admit, though I didn’t like it, that our damage output was insufficient to take him down.

Well, since inflicting damage wasn’t my objective, I readied my stance.

I had completely drawn Rahitan’s aggro to myself. There was no chance of it shifting elsewhere. Keeping aggro from shifting—that was a tank’s primary duty.

    “Hnnng…!”

Meanwhile, Sasith had successfully summoned six Psychorobos.

    “Unleash your attacks!!”

I shouted while somehow blocking Rahitan’s attacks. Sticking to Rahitan’s pant leg—that was the only thing I could do.

The rest was up to Sasith.

We could assume that it takes Sasith 1 turn to summon a Psychorobo and use its skill. Even in real-time, the fundamentals were turn-based, hence this assumption.

And now Sasith could simultaneously summon and control 6 Psychorobos. That meant firing 6 skills in a single turn.

In the end, there was only one way to increase critical chance: use many skills or normal attacks. Critical hits follow the law of large numbers. The more attempts, the higher the critical chance.

By having Sasith spam skills, eventually one would hit. That was my plan.

    “Pufupung!!! Commander’s Hammer!!”

Sasith immediately summoned Pufupung and unleashed a strike-type skill with high critical rate.

    *Boom-!!*

    A heavy hammer struck Rahitan.

    *Stagger-!*

Rahitan’s body shook, but no critical hit occurred.

    “Virgin Mage!!!! Lonely Night!!!”

Sasith summoned another Psychorobo. Despite being called a mage, it was a strange Psychorobo that cast physical and non-elemental magic. It had an unnecessary backstory about awakening magical abilities after remaining a virgin until 40. It oddly resembled our homeroom teacher… anyway.

    *Babababam-!!!!*

Glowing white magic bullets rained down from all directions, striking Rahitan.

This didn’t trigger a critical hit either.

    “Admiral Drake!! Rum Shot!!”

However, Sasith still had more Psychorobos available.

    *Boom-!!!*

As Admiral Drake fired a small-caliber cannon, Rahitan immediately fell down.

    “Khaack!!!”

Rahitan collapsed face-down on the ground.

Huge corns and tumors were writhing on the soles of his feet.

    “Now!! Everyone attack!!!”

I immediately ordered a full assault.

    “Yeah!! Let’s go!!!”

    “Pull out all those corns!!!”

    “Foot massage time!!!”

We all swung our weapons with all our might at Rahitan’s left foot.

    *Stab-! Slash-!! Crack-!! Splurt-!!!!*

Weapons struck from all directions. Soon, blood gushed from Rahitan’s foot.

    “Gyaaaaaaah!!!!!”

Rahitan screamed and writhed in pain.

“Those corns… must hurt a lot? I’ll remove them all for you.”

    I muttered.

“Kugh…! You bastards… dare to target my weakness…!”

    Rahitan staggered to his feet.

Being a battle veteran, Rahitan seemed to have figured out who was the most dangerous among us. He rushed toward Sasith.

“I can’t let you target our ace!! I’m your opponent!!”

But I couldn’t allow that. I immediately blocked Rahitan’s path.

Protecting the damage dealer—that was what being a tank meant.

    “Out of my way!! Spiky-head!!”

Rahitan clicked his tongue in annoyance and swung his sword.

    *Clang-! Ching-!! Clash-!*

However, his sword strikes were less threatening than before. Rahitan’s attacks were fueled only by emotion.

Yes, he was rattled. Having his weakness exploited for the first time was enough to make him anxious.

    “Come forth!!!! Everyone!!”

Then, Sasith launched all six Psychorobos at once.

    *Boom-!!*

The skills of six Psychorobos hit Rahitan directly.

At least one of them should land a critical hit. That was the intention. As expected of Sasith, he perfectly understood my plan.

    “Kughh!!!”

    Rahitan collapsed once more.

“Now!!! Full assault!! Pull out the corns from his right foot too!!!!”

    I shouted loudly.

    “It’s total attack time!!!!!!!”

    *Thwack-!! Slashslashslash-!! Crack-!!! Stab-!!!!*

Our combined attack succeeded in removing all the blisters and corns from Rahitan’s right foot.

    *Splurt-!!!*

Blood fountained from Rahitan’s right foot.

    “Im-impossible… I… I’m losing…!”

Rahitan staggered, trying to get up. But he could only stumble.

    *Splurt-!!!*

The bleeding spread throughout his body except for his feet. Blood gushed from all of Rahitan’s orifices, including his eyes, nose, and mouth.

    “Gross!!!!”

Umi immediately backed away with a disgusted expression. It was… quite grotesque. I wouldn’t want to die like that, even if I had to die.

“I heard a prophecy that I would be invincible… as long as my feet touched the ground… I was too arrogant to believe in that prophecy……”

    Rahitan coughed blood and laughed.

    “This is your victory… Earthlings…..”

    Rahitan looked straight at us.

    “You there… spiky-head… what are you…”

    Rahitan looked at me.

What am I? I could tell him if I wanted to… but I felt oddly mischievous.

    “I’ve already told you~”

    I immediately replied.

    “What nonsense… quickly… tell me your name…!”

But Rahitan had no time left. He immediately breathed his last.

    *Flash-!!!!!*

Rahitan’s body turned to ashes and scattered.

The winners of the War Festival were us.

    “We did it!!!!!”

Caught up in the moment, Taiga shouted loudly.

    “Kyeeeeeek!!!”

    “Wooooooh!!!!!”

We all celebrated our victory with cheers.

With that, we completed the July dungeon. It was eventful, but we somehow managed to pull through.
