Ch.194[Episode 194] Unexpected Connection

“Good heavens. Is that a dragon?”

The ogre’s son said, looking at the giant dinosaur before him.

The dinosaur was so large that even the rather sizeable ogre’s son had to crane his neck to look up at it.

However, the ogre’s son soon thought that this dinosaur probably wasn’t a dragon.

“I’m trying to make a delivery but the destination doesn’t exist! How strange!”

This was because there was a goblin riding on the dinosaur’s back.

In fairy tales, dragons were all described as beings with tremendous pride who would become angry if mortals treated them carelessly.

Of course, the ogre’s son might be remembering incorrectly, but that wasn’t what mattered.

If it wasn’t a dragon, then what was this enormous creature before him?

    “Well, it’s a goblin.”

    The bandit leader said.

“Goblins are easy opponents. Aren’t they?”

    “How fortunate for us.”

The bandit leader snickered with his bandits.

To them, goblins were perceived as mere mob enemies that appeared in low-level stages.

Of course, this was because the bandits weren’t of high enough tier to participate in raids.

If they had ever participated in a raid, they would have recognized Konga the Goblin King.

The bandits approached Konga while juggling daggers in both hands.

Though he was riding a strange reptile, its front legs were very short, so they thought they only needed to be careful of its tail and large mouth.

But as you know, Konga’s true power wasn’t anything physical.

“…A group interfering with my delivery!”

Konga was alarmed seeing the approaching bandits.

When he was learning about delivery services, he had also learned about those who sometimes attacked delivery people and stole their food.

Thinking these bandits must be that type of people, Konga immediately raised his drumstick with a hand attached to it.

And he began to enthusiastically beat his djembe.

In the narrow alley, a raid boss’s technique was unleashed.

Against a gimmick that would terrify even experienced parties if hit once, the bandits had no chance of survival.

    “Thank ye… um… goblin?”

“I am Konga the Goblin King. You can call me Konga.”

After the bandits were annihilated, Arkus could finally set foot on the ground again.

The ogre’s son was still distracted by the dinosaur, and Arkus, confused about why a goblin was in this Hall of Warriors, introduced himself to Konga.

“I am Arkus, Bishop of Feralant. Thank ye again, Konga.”

    “Feralant?”

Konga reacted to the familiar place name.

Wasn’t that where Sir Dominic, who had been with him until just now, came from?

“Do you know Sir Dominic? Sir Dominic of Feralant.”

    “Sir Dominic?”

Bishop Arkus fell into thought at Konga’s words.

There were many knights named Dominic.

As the number of knights he knew exceeded several hundred, Arkus decided to ask about characteristics instead of thinking alone.

“What does this Sir Dominic look like?”

“He has one eye! Wears a feather! Uses a sword and shield!”

    “…Brown hair and green eyes?”

“Yes! Why ask if you already knew?”

    Konga scolded Arkus.

But Arkus didn’t respond to Konga’s words.

He was lost in thought, his eyes wide with surprise.

    “Sanctus Dominicus…!”

Arkus made the sign of the cross.

If the Goblin King Konga was correct, the Sir Dominic he was describing must be the canonized saint, Sir Dominic of Feralant.

Arkus emerged from his thoughts and rummaged through his belongings.

He took out an icon of the saint drawn on old parchment and showed it to Konga.

He wanted to confirm once more.

    “Does he look like this?”

Konga looked at the person drawn on the old parchment.

A one-eyed knight with brown hair and the peculiar expression of a holy painting.

In the painting, Sir Dominic was holding his shield against a terrified red-skinned demon, with light emanating from his halo and shield, purifying the demons.

    Konga nodded.

Though the painting made him look a bit more handsome, it was definitely Sir Dominic.

    “Yes. He looks like this!”

“Oh, my goodness. White raven of heaven.”

Bishop Arkus repeatedly made the sign of the cross.

Sir Dominic of Feralant. Patron saint of serfs. The saint known to bless self-made individuals and those who live day by day through honest work—was he here?

Arkus became firmly convinced by Konga’s words that this place was indeed one of the heavens, the Hall of Warriors.

“Are you acquainted with Sir Dominic?”

Arkus’s speech suddenly became more respectful.

If he thought of Sir Dominic upon hearing Feralant, they must be quite close.

Arkus wondered if the goblin before him might actually be one of the saints playing a prank.

“Yes. We just had coffee together.”

“My goodness. White raven of heaven…!”

Now Arkus was gasping as if he might pass out.

    He couldn’t help it.

That was the position Sir Dominic held among the faithful from Feralant, the serfs, knights, and warriors.

    Bishop Arkus was no exception.

He had said he was on a pilgrimage, but in truth, he was planning to visit Sir Dominic’s memorial, the holy site where he died, and his restored birthplace.

That’s how great the reverence for Sir Dominic was among the people of Feralant.

It was still the same now.

“…Sir Dominic, you say? This Sir Dominic?”

The ogre’s son, who had been distracted by the dinosaur, took out a locket hanging around his neck at the mention of Sir Dominic.

It contained a small painting of Sir Dominic along with a verse from the scripture.

Of course, the fact that the holy painting made him look more handsome remained unchanged.

When the bishop nodded, the ogre’s son also looked at Konga with surprised eyes.

“Your saying you were with Sir Dominic until just now means Sir Dominic is nearby?”

“Yes… Ah! I must go now. It’s getting late!”

Konga exclaimed urgently as he climbed onto Fortissimo Tempost.

Along with the message that one delivery had been canceled, a new delivery request had come in.

Having already made one mistake with a delivery, the anxious Konga bid farewell to his new acquaintances from Feralant.

“Next time I see Sir Dominic, I’ll tell him about you! Farewell!”

With those words, the Tyrannosaurus backed up to the accompaniment of classical music.

Then it quickly turned and disappeared beyond the alley.

“…This truly is the Hall of Warriors.”

The ogre’s son wore a dreamy, dazed expression.

“There was a reason the Holy Spirit guided us. My faithful prayers have reached Sir Dominic…!”

Bishop Arkus knelt and offered a prayer of thanks to God.

As he continued without pause for 377 phrases, not repeating a single word of gratitude, the ogre’s son approached him.

“This is no time for that.”

Arkus looked at the ogre’s son as if to ask what he meant.

“The goblin called Konga said he knows Sir Dominic. That means if we follow that goblin, wouldn’t we have a high chance of seeing Sir Dominic?”

    “!”

Arkus looked surprised, as if it was a good idea.

“This is no time to waste. We must follow him immediately. Which way did Konga go?”

    “I don’t know. Somewhere over there…”

Arkus and the ogre’s son looked in the direction where Konga had disappeared.

That path was the direction they had just come from.

    “A twist of fate.”

“Indeed. To think we must retrace our steps.”

Arkus and the ogre’s son grumbled.

But contrary to their complaining words, their expressions couldn’t have been brighter.

It was because of the excitement that they might meet Sir Dominic.

The battle between the magical girl and the orcs ended anticlimactically.

Inspector Javert had been dispatched after receiving news of two groups engaged in a duel while occupying the road.

“So, you haven’t been in GachaLand long and you’re already causing trouble like this?”

The orcs and the magical girl tried hard to avoid Inspector Javert’s gaze.

Especially the magical girl’s mascot, Tiramisu, who was vehemently protesting to Inspector Javert.

“This would never happen in the Sweet Heart Kingdom, boing! Declaring a draw when we were about to win is absurd, boing! I’ll hire a lawyer, boing!”

“This is GachaLand, friend. In GachaLand, you follow GachaLand’s laws!”

“That too would never happen in the Sweet Heart Kingdom, boing!”

As mascot Tiramisu began to throw a tantrum, Inspector Javert, seemingly accustomed to this, issued warning tickets to both parties.

    The ticket read:

    [Road Traffic Obstruction]

    [Fine: 50,000 Credit.]

    That’s right.

While dueling was legal under GachaLand law, the reason they were caught was for obstructing road traffic.

    “What strange affairs.”

Sir Dominic muttered as he placed the cookie he had just received into his inventory.

Until now, Sir Dominic had never fought in a place that would obstruct traffic, so this was the first time he learned of such a law.

    It was then.

    “We meet again, Sir Dominic.”

    Sir Dominic turned his head.

    There stood Konga.

    Somehow covered in dust…
