Ch.191The Witch Who Will Destroy the World. (1)

Olivia stared at the barrier. A barrier created to imprison only two people.

Until she decided to release it, it would never break. She felt that certainty instinctively.

    Thud, thud…!

The desperate vibrations coming from outside. Even though nothing was visible, she could imagine how they were pounding on the wall. Yet Olivia, coldly, didn’t even spare a glance.

    Tap, tap.

She merely raised her heel and lightly tapped the floor twice. As if by magic, the vibrations stopped.

“How cruel. You don’t intend to listen to their desperate cries?”

    Olivia smiled.

“It’s fine. I’ll hear plenty of them soon.”

    “That’s true.”

Asmodeus smiled back. Her fingers started at her own chest and slowly traveled up to her shoulders. When they finally reached both ends of her shoulders, Asmodeus hugged herself and swayed her body from side to side.

‘Really, just thinking about it gives me chills.’

Asmodeus thought as she licked her lips with her tongue.

It had been satisfying enough just imagining the painful screams of a magician who had touched the truth, but Olivia had gone a step further and abandoned everything she had built up until now to protect someone else.

She couldn’t even begin to predict how enjoyable it would be to break someone who had made such a grand resolution.

Asmodeus deliberately tapped on the barrier Olivia had created.

“Do you think this will hide your corruption?”

“Of course not. I never intended to hide it in the first place.”

At those words, the corners of Asmodeus’s mouth shot up wildly. Even in this situation, she was still putting on airs.

Of course, from the perspective of Asmodeus, who was desperate to drive Olivia to despair, it was much better for Olivia to act this way.

After all, the stronger the will, the sweeter the fruit when it’s broken.

“You just said it yourself. Creating a medium is something only a god would do.”

    “I did say that.”

Asmodeus raised the corner of her mouth in mockery. Of course, at first, she had thought Olivia had touched the realm of gods. But after verifying through various factors, she concluded it was merely a coincidence.

This was because not only was Olivia’s use of magi rudimentary, but her regeneration ability was seriously lacking compared to the total amount of magi she used.

Just as Asmodeus’s gaze, filled with certainty, slowly returned to Olivia.

    “Then what about this?”

A dark red liquid flowing like water from both palms. The strange sight of magi, which should have no form, moving with weight and shape.

“Do you still think this is a ‘coincidence’?”

    “…”

From the moment she fell into this world until now, Olivia had never once moved according to someone else’s plan.

‘If anything, she made a new plan.’

The possibility that she, who always saw through every move, would rely on ‘coincidence’ in the most important final battle was non-existent.

    Splash.

    “…!!”

An alien sound from the ground. Only then did Asmodeus’s pupils widen in shock as she noticed something strange.

A sensation like falling into the middle of a sticky swamp.

The dark red liquid, emitting such an ominous aura that even she, who had reached the pinnacle of magic, felt nauseous, was gradually rising.

Just as she tried to shake off those things climbing up her legs.

    Rumble!

In an instant, an endless presence flowed from the swollen dark red liquid, filling the surrounding air.

A question arose in Asmodeus’s eyes. Irresistible fear… endless dread rising just from meeting its gaze.

    Something was wrong.

    ‘Why?’

    The Demon God.

The god who created all demons never appeared before Asmodeus except when giving revelations. Even when giving revelations, receiving the voice was all there was to it.

As Olivia said, Asmodeus did not truly serve the Demon God. But there was a reason for that.

The Demon God was not a merciful or humane being, even to demons.

Drifting through dimensions, an apocalypse that destroys everything in sight, an unstoppable disaster. That was the essence of their god.

From the moment she realized the Demon God could destroy her at any time, Asmodeus withdrew her blind faith.

Yet the reason she still acted according to the Demon God’s revelations was.

    ‘This… can’t be.’

Because of the fear that she might be annihilated at any moment—.

    [Tell me.]

A voice was heard from behind.

Asmodeus flinched and twisted her body backward. Since when had it been behind her?

[How do you feel right now?]

A terror she had felt only once but could never forget. She needed to escape. She needed to flee as far as possible. Her instinct screamed so, but her pride as a Demon Lord blocked it.

    “Shut up…!!”

Asmodeus’s scream mixed with malicious killing intent.

Asmodeus gritted her teeth until they might break. The fear she was feeling now was just an illusion. It was merely similar to the emotion she had felt then.

‘It’s different from the Demon God. It can’t be the same. If it were the Demon God, I would have been prostrate on the ground before I could even think this.’

Then what was it? Illusion magic. Magic that excels at bewitching the mind came to mind.

The stronger the target of illusion magic, the more preparation is needed. The size of the magic circle alone would have to be enormous to trap someone like herself, a Demon Lord, not just an ordinary demon.

‘Yes. It wasn’t a simple barrier.’

This barrier itself was an illusion formation designed to break her mind.

Olivia smiled as she watched Asmodeus’s expression gradually regain stability.

[It seems you still want to deny reality.]

“Ha, let’s see if you can remain so confident after this barrier is broken…!!!”

    [I’ll prove you wrong.]

    Boom…!

The next moment, Asmodeus’s heart pounded violently, and she collapsed.

Her face contorted as if all the sensations in her body were twisted.

    “This, this…?!”

It wasn’t because she couldn’t use magi.

It was because she could no longer control the magi surging throughout her body as if about to burst.

    “There’s too… much!”

    Crack…!

Her skin began to crack, unable to withstand the overload. Blood gushed from her nose. All the joints in her body twisted.

    “Kahahk…!”

    Olivia laughed.

Even if one reaches the truth and can use the world itself as a vessel, one cannot use all the magic floating in the world at once.

And the same applies to a Demon Lord.

Even if one reigns at the pinnacle of all magic, the amount of magi that can be accommodated at once is clearly limited.

[Well, does that answer your question?]

    “Kuh, kuheuk…!!”

Asmodeus bled all over her body. She scratched her face until her nails broke, wailing as if about to faint.

An ordinary demon would have died long ago, but the Demon Lord’s immortality prevented that.

    “Agk, agggggk…!!”

Asmodeus gasped for breath and became aware of her hand. Her head felt like it was about to burst. She was going to die, she was going to die at this rate.

    In that case, rather…!

    Plunge!

Without hesitation, Asmodeus thrust her fingers into her own skull and scrambled her brain.

    “Guk, euuuk…kahaak!”

Because it was better to have her brain turned to mush than to suffer the pain of it overloading and bursting. At least there was less pain during the moment of regeneration.

[Could you be quiet? You’re too noisy.]

Just as Olivia said that and reached to grab Asmodeus’s head.

    “…Got you.”

Asmodeus opened her eyes with difficulty and smiled. The hand that was about to grab her head was caught in Asmodeus’s hand.

Asmodeus twisted up the corners of her mouth insanely and cut off Olivia’s wrist.

    Splash!

Blood gushed from the wrist. Asmodeus didn’t stop there but sprang up and rammed into Olivia.

    Crash!

    “Kyahahahaha!”

Her pale palm precisely pinned down both of Olivia’s arms. She immediately shot sharp magi throughout the space to block spatial movement.

    ‘…That was dangerous.’

If her pain tolerance had been even slightly lacking, she would still be rolling on the floor instead of pressing the attack like now. Of course, she wasn’t in a normal state even now.

Her head still felt like it was about to burst, no. It was actually bursting. The brain matter flowing from her ears and nose was proof of that.

But it was more bearable than before.

    ‘I’ll kill her.’

She had intended to play around, fighting Olivia moderately, but now the story had changed. Olivia’s magi control had already far exceeded Asmodeus’s expectations.

    ‘She’s growing too fast.’

At this rate, she would die before she could bring despair to Olivia.

“Huhu…! You were too cocky! The match isn’t even over yet, and you’re already being arrogant…!”

Asmodeus raised her right hand with a murderous glint in her eyes. Immediately, her extended hand pierced through Olivia’s chest.

    “This is how… you die…!!”

Along with the sound of flesh being crushed, Asmodeus burst into maniacal laughter.

Olivia didn’t dodge. She just smiled faintly, looking at Asmodeus’s hand that had pierced her chest.

    [I told you.]

    “Wh-what…?”

Olivia slowly applied force to both hands and pulled out Asmodeus’s hand. A chilling sound of flesh tearing was heard, but far from screaming, she didn’t even furrow her brow.

[That I would hear plenty of screams.]

The hole in Olivia’s chest was already filled.

[You can look forward to it.]

    Olivia smirked.
