Ch.188The Correlation Between Love and Jealousy – 1

    Serena opened her eyes.

    Christine descended to the ground.

    Charlotte unclenched her fist.

    “……”

    “……”

    “……”

One glared at the other two with an intensity that suggested she would strike them dead at any moment. One was utterly disgusted by the other two. One mixed contempt and hatred in her gaze toward the other two.

It was a powder keg situation—the slightest trigger would cause everything to explode.

The reason these three, who had each confronted Olivia in their own spaces, were now gathered in one place facing off against each other was because Serena, Charlotte, and Christine had all gained the power to destroy the world.

When Olivia’s world collapsed, the overlapping spaces shattered, causing all three to return to the place they had been before separating into different worldlines.

And these three, who already despised each other, prepared to fight the moment they realized that not only were the other two still alive and well, but they had also gained even more powerful abilities.

The existence of a common enemy in Olivia didn’t mean the other two were allies. Rather, they were bitches who needed to be killed along with Olivia.

Though they would vehemently deny it if told, the three resembled each other to a considerable degree. Wasn’t their first thought upon seeing each other identical—that they needed to kill the others?

Serena utterly despised Charlotte and Christine, Christine utterly despised Serena and Charlotte, and Charlotte utterly despised Christine and Serena.

Their hatred had reached such a level that even with a common enemy like Olivia, they were growling at each other, ready to kill whoever stood before them first.

Each of them had completely ruled out the possibility of joining forces, or even the minimal courtesy of not attacking while one of them fought against Olivia.

    The reason was simple.

Because they would have done the same. If one of them were fighting Olivia, they would have seized the opportunity to strike from behind and annihilate everyone.

If one of them showed an opening while fighting Olivia, that person would surely be the first to suffer every possible attack and die.

To believe the other two wouldn’t think this way when one did herself was absurd.

The main cause was that all three had terribly strong pride—so strong that they would accept facing Olivia alone if the other two lost their lives, without any hesitation.

So, even if the boy were to say this to Serena, Charlotte, and Christine, it wouldn’t be entirely wrong.

That the three hated each other because they resembled each other too much.

“I wish you had died fighting that mad woman who stole my husband, but as expected, your life force is as tenacious as a beast’s. Do you possess some animal survival instinct?”

Charlotte was the first to speak. She sneered, comparing Serena and Christine to beasts while emphasizing the fact that the boy was her husband.

“And you’ve managed to survive despite your lack of ability. Yes, that’s right. If I were in your situation, I would have lost my life.”

Serena countered Charlotte’s words. Though it sounded at first like she was agreeing with Charlotte and putting herself down, what followed was anything but.

“I would have chosen to take my own life rather than survive and tarnish my lord’s honor. I have no intention of clinging to life pathetically by kneeling and licking others’ feet like you.”

“So you think of defeat before victory? Truly the mindset of a loser. Yes, someone like you would have to think that way. I can understand with my great magnanimity. Know your place and get lost. Or I could save you the trouble and personally remove your head—would you prefer to die shedding tears at your lord’s great generosity?”

“As expected from someone who licks others’ feet, every word from your filthy tongue is utterly disgusting. My ears feel like they’re rotting just listening to you.”

“That is because your mind has become so steeped in defeatism that it resembles nothing but garbage. In my view, your actions have already sufficiently tarnished my husband’s honor, so why haven’t you ended your miserable life yet? Are you such a fool that you can’t even keep the words that come out of your own mouth?”

“No matter how much I may have tarnished my lord’s honor, I could never match you.”

With those final words, Serena and Charlotte closed their mouths and enveloped their bodies with mana without any prior agreement. A blue light surrounded both of them completely.

Serena did not favor verbal sparring, and Charlotte had no desire to exchange words with Serena. Rather than that, resorting to force from the beginning was a million times better.

Charlotte’s left eye was covered in an ominous blue light. The shape of a transparent sword flickered in Serena’s right hand.

    “—!!!!!!”

    “—!!!!!!”

And between the two of them, a wave of white flames swept through.

Charlotte flicked her finger and returned all the white flames to nothingness. Serena swung her Wind Shear and sliced through the white flames entirely.

Sky-blue eyes as refreshing as sapphires and blood-red eyes as deep as rubies turned toward the source of the holy power that had swept between them.

There stood Christine, her body wrapped in white and pale yellow flames made of holy power, looking at Serena and Charlotte with a sinister smile on her lips.

It was a smile that instantly soured the mood. As Serena and Charlotte frowned at the sight, Christine opened her mouth without removing that sinister smile.

“In the name of my God, what blasphemy is this?”

    “Your God?”

Upon hearing those words, Charlotte smiled mockingly and ignited mana in her hand. The mana nullification that had been her greatest shackle was no longer an issue.

Charlotte had never lost her composure even when she was overwhelmingly dominated by Christine due to mana nullification. Now that she could properly use her power, there was nothing more to be said.

“How could my husband be the God of a worthless beast like you? Truly ridiculous nonsense. Have you truly castrated your intelligence?”

“Husband… You dare call my God your husband?”

The sinister smile on Christine’s lips grew even deeper.

“As if you could satisfy my God with that useless body of yours. With such a meager physique that cannot even provide male pleasure to the one you serve, what makes you so proud to bark like that?”

Serena’s body flinched. Charlotte’s eyebrow twitched slightly. Both understood very well the meaning behind Christine’s keywords of “body” and “satisfaction.”

Serena’s expression contorted more than Charlotte’s. Very sadly, this was an undeniable truth.

As much as they hated to admit it, the two lumps of fat hanging from that woman’s chest were so enormous that even the boy’s two hands couldn’t fully contain one side. Unlike Serena’s.

Both sensed instinctively that Christine’s demeanor had changed dramatically. Every gesture and word oozed confidence. Her amber eyes were filled with holiness.

    The cause was divine possession.

With a god dwelling within her body, Christine had no reason to express jealousy toward the other two.

With her god so close to her, with her god descending into this wretched body, why should she waste emotions that should be devoted to praising her god on such trash?

    “So, please die.”

Of course, not being jealous and killing the other two were separate matters.

A tense atmosphere hung between the three. With the power that Serena, Christine, and Charlotte possessed, killing each other would be trivial.

Christine had become a godlike being, Serena could cut through causality, laws, and restraining forces, and Charlotte had reached the realm of creation where she could make her own world.

But, conversely, this was precisely why they couldn’t easily kill each other.

Their offensive and defensive capabilities had increased enormously, but the same was true for the other two, resulting in a situation where they couldn’t inflict significant damage on each other.

They could kill with a direct hit, but unless someone literally offered their neck to be cut, that would never happen.

“A beast that should be crawling on the ground and eating dirt doesn’t know its place and is running wild. This is why such animals should be trampled in time—I made a great mistake.”

“What nonsense are you spouting, sinner and heretic, whose crimes cannot be atoned for even if you tear off your limbs and carve out your heart before God? My God will not stand for this.”

“Shut your filthy mouth. Your very existence tarnishes my lord’s honor. Rotten flesh must be cut away.”

Of course, that wasn’t a reason not to fight each other.

Charlotte drew up her mana. The power to create worlds was contained within her overflowing mana.

Serena aimed her Wind Shear. The appearance of the Wind Shear formed a perfect shape of nothingness.

Christine’s body rose into the sky again. Light burst forth like the sun illuminating the dawn.

Serena moved first, Charlotte responded by unleashing her magic, and finally, purifying flames began to pour down from the sky.
