Ch.188188. The Performance of the Mythical Box

The rewards are far too generous.

First, I completed the quest by destroying the corrupted core rather than killing the Big Guava Snake, since that was the actual objective.

I didn’t need to worry about how to find the core in the wide burrow.

The large black core was simply floating alongside a chest in the Big Guava Snake’s nest.

After surrounding the core with holy power and cutting it, the murky color finally drained from the heavy moisture in the air.

The quests were completed.

However, the steam in the Forest of Steam didn’t disappear entirely.

The previously impenetrable mist in this dungeon had only thinned slightly.

After all, the Forest of Steam is characterized by its humidity due to abundant steam—it’s a tropical rainforest.

I secured everything to my belt and sent Unir out to scout again.

“Look for any surviving snakes.”

“Yuu!”

While many snakes had died, quite a few had survived.

This snake den seemed to be a communal living space for Guava Snakes. Looking around the dungeon, I managed to kill about 40-50 Guava Snakes.

“Not that many, actually.”

Well, that’s just the corrupted Guava Snakes inside. Counting the snakes outside the dungeon too, the total number would probably be around 150-200.

The Black Monkeys could handle the remaining ones, so I decided to conclude the dungeon conquest here.

There was something more important.

“Wow, there’s so much here too.”

Cloud Stems.

The Cloud Stems extending from outside the dungeon reached all the way to the Corrupted Steam Snake Den like the tip of an iceberg. Even at a glance, I could see that almost the entire dungeon was surrounded by Cloud Stems.

So it was like this.

“There’s so much steam here that Cloud Stems had no choice but to grow.”

So this is where Cloud Stems originally grew.

Tremendous humidity plus nutrients.

Add the energy of chaos, and the Cloud Stems flourished so vigorously that when they ran out of space, they extended outside the Corrupted Forest of Steam—those were the Cloud Stems I had seen.

“This is truly mass production.”

There was no need to cultivate or breed these extensively.

Just harvesting the Cloud Stem fruits here would yield an enormous amount.

Unless I planned to sell them worldwide, this would be enough to extract a considerable amount of cloud sugar.

I decided to leave the harvesting to the Black Monkeys for now, just marking the approximate locations of the Cloud Stems on my map before returning.

“Fantastic.”

The Level 2 biome becomes more impressive the more I look at it.

From the goblin territory just before the Level 2 biome, to the resource area connected by Pure Mushrooms.

Extending into the Level 2 biome where I planted Pure Mushroom trees.

And from there, the field of Hair Growth Trees.

With Hair Growth Trees extending to the outskirts of Level 2, plus the Cloud Stems covering from the eastern outskirts to the center of the Level 2 biome.

The east side had unintentionally become almost entirely covered by an orchard spanning the whole biome.

A massive natural orchard.

This would be difficult to create intentionally even if you wanted to.

“Chief! We succeeded! Kiki!”

“Good work, my children. We accomplished this thanks to your courage.”

“Kiki! Kiki!”

When I returned to the Black Monkey tribe, they cheered for me.

Many of them looked injured and exhausted, suggesting they had fought a difficult battle, so I pretended to be a bit tired myself and responded appropriately to their enthusiasm.

Well, they chose this path themselves, so I didn’t need to feel sorry.

I almost felt like I had defeated the Big Guava Snake too easily and cleared the Corrupted Forest of Steam dungeon too quickly.

I wonder when my solo domination will be challenged.

Maybe if I sealed away my SSS+ ability selection without using it, the difficulty might finally match up in the next level biome, or the one after that?

Such thoughts crossed my mind, but unfortunately, I had no intention whatsoever of deliberately matching the difficulty.

It’s not like I’m using cheat mode because I want to—these are legitimate and fair rewards from the Rift Dimension.

The rewards match the SSS+ difficulty, and because I’m using them well, I can clear increasingly difficult stages in less time and gain more rewards.

If there’s one thing I’m considering, it’s that I should probably learn an SSS+ defensive ability soon.

My damage output is now sufficient to tackle even Level 3-4 biomes with dense chaotic energy.

This was possible because I somehow ended up focusing all my abilities and items on offensive power.

The SSS+ close combat weapon skill pairs perfectly with my SS+ Demonic Light Sword.

Add to that the Ice Spirit Cold Drink I can’t obtain with my current abilities, plus the Holy Ring at SS rank, and my damage output has been boosted to ridiculous levels.

I was confident I could smash the head of any boss monster up to Level 3, though Level 4 remained uncertain.

But my defense isn’t at the same level.

My abilities are solely focused on offense, making me vulnerable defensively.

This recent encounter proved it.

My combat style involves killing boss monsters before they can use powerful extinction-level attacks, but if that becomes impossible or if the boss attacks me before I can unleash my full offensive power, I’d be helplessly overwhelmed.

Even this time, holy power reduced the damage once, but seeing my life force drop to 44% from a single Chaos Release attack made it clear that I need to acquire defensive abilities now.

Well, I’ll think about that later.

After neatly filling my belt, I returned home and immediately began organizing the chests.

“Put all the chests inside the storage.”

First, I took the Legendary Chest that was to the right of the cabin entrance to the field.

Currently, there are two chests with the “Auto-Sort” function: the Legendary Chest and the Mythic Chest.

If the Mythic Chest is placed next to the cabin, the Legendary Chest can be placed elsewhere to serve as an auto-sorting station.

It needed to go to one of two places:

Either to Lee Ji-hyun who does alchemy,

Or to Kim Su-jung who farms.

I wasn’t going to compare and decide who deserved it more.

When considering which area of the farm needed “Auto-Sort” more, there was no question.

Of course, Ji-hyun also handles various resources while doing alchemy, going back and forth to the storage to retrieve materials and return them after use. But that doesn’t compare to the large-scale harvesting and seed management involved in farming.

Actually, it might be better to place the Mythic Chest in the field.

It would be useful for farming to quickly access and organize seeds.

But that would only benefit the farming area, and the Mythic Chest ultimately had to be placed at the cabin.

“I’ll arrange it like this.”

“Wow!! So if I put things in here, they automatically go to storage?”

“Yep.”

I allocated about 5P to create a temporary base near where the World Tree was planted, and placed the Legendary Chest there.

I also brought two Hero Chests and placed them nearby so seeds could be accessed directly. This way, even without bringing the Mythic Chest, crops could be sent to storage through the Legendary Chest, and seeds could be taken directly from the seed chest without going to the main storage.

We were already storing seeds in wooden chests, but now with the temporary base established, there’s no need to organize seeds separately—just put them in the Legendary Chest and they’ll be sorted automatically.

“The Mythic Chest is really impressive. Does it always glow like this? You wouldn’t need streetlights at night.”

“That’s why it’s mythic. These are extremely rare.”

Even when I poured items from my belt into the spacious Mythic Chest, everything was automatically organized.

The vast space wasn’t even close to being filled despite all the items I dumped in.

With excitement, I decided to enjoy each of the Mythic Chest’s options one by one.

First, Chest Management.

This is the core feature of the Mythic Chest, an overpowered option among overpowered options.

Though, what mythic option isn’t overpowered?

This “Chest Management” feature eliminates the need to enter the storage room just by having the Mythic Chest at the cabin entrance.

When using the Chest Management function, a list appears before my eyes.

It shows all the chests within the base, neatly organized, allowing me to see at a glance what items are in each chest. Even better, I can retrieve those items directly from the Mythic Chest.

I can even remotely send items to specific chests from here, eliminating the need to physically go to chests that haven’t been sorted yet.

There’s a reason it’s called the ultimate base chest.
