If there’s one fortunate thing, it’s that the commission fee isn’t paid upfront.

    Of course, at first I almost flew into a rage thinking, “What the hell! Pay 240 gold for a commission fee that’s only 100 gold?!”

    “Hmm, Commander? It looks like the commission fee here is paid afterward.”

    “Hmm?”

    “If you receive the actual transaction price of 1,200 gold, they’ll deduct 240 gold from that.”

    “Hmmmm.”

    The warning message was just written strangely.

    It seems they actually take a separate commission fee “after” the transaction is completed.

    Just to be sure, I searched through the community forum…

    Title: Someone’s calling out the auction house instructions

    <Auction registration fees are non-refundable> <- This part here

    This doesn’t mean they take the fee from your wallet upfront

    The registration fee is deducted all at once when you finally receive payment for your auctioned item

    I’m posting this because I can tell the number of users has dropped significantly since newbies don’t use the auction house because they don’t understand this

    -[Thank you…!]

    -[Why are Korean games using such ambiguous methods like old foreign games?]

    -˪[For real, I don’t know why they do this lol]

    -[I reported this quite a while ago, but they still haven’t fixed it]

    -[The admins aren’t doing their job again]

    In conclusion, the admins just did something stupid and put up that strange wording.

    As we thought, they take the commission fee after the item sells.

    That made me feel more at ease, allowing me to focus on the task at hand.

    However, if there was one major problem…

    When I fell into a dazed state after seeing the auction house system that was so complicated it resembled an encrypted message,

    Jessica, who’s twice as smart as me, started fiddling with the trading window instead.

    To be precise, Jessica could only “see” the Commander’s UI or community forum.

    Since she couldn’t directly manipulate anything herself, I had to act as her hands.

    Anyway, considering my rapidly declining intelligence in situations like this.

    Jessica’s IQ 250, my IQ 50.

    Using our combined perfect IQ of 300 and my hands, we began our effoooort to get out of this situation.

    And after all that effort, we finally listed the two superhumans in the base on the auction house:

    —————————————-

    <S-Rank Superhuman Axion, Level 60 for sale>

    <Details>

    <No physical defects, no negative traits, selling because likability is very low.>

    <Weapon included, no defensive equipment.>

    <Starting bid: 1,000 Gold>

    —————————————-

    —————————————-

    <S-Rank Superhuman Letty, Level 55 for sale>

    <Details>

    <No physical defects, no negative traits, selling because likability is very low.>

    <No weapons, no defensive equipment>

    <Starting bid: 2,300 Gold>

    —————————————-

    “So support characters really are nobility, huh? I didn’t expect the starting price to be more than double for the same S-Rank.”

    “That Letty person has a price restriction because of their close-range support characteristic, Commander.”

    “How very interesting.”

    Apart from suddenly becoming human traffickers…

    I decided to take a look at what other users’ auctions in progress were like.

    And I happened to find an S-Rank superhuman auction that was actively receiving bids…

    —————————————-

    <S-Rank Bansha for sale, one arm mechanized>

    <Details>

    <Equipped with hidden blade and hand cannon on one arm to compensate for lack of attack power>

    <Got a bit twisted after attaching the prosthetic>

    <Additionally, installed implants throughout the body for mechanical equipment, which made them a bit mentally unstable>

    <Should be usable if you inject some drugs into the brain and massage it a bit>

    <Transaction comments>

    -<Sir, do people often tell you that you lack human empathy?>(250 replies)

    <Starting bid: 1,710 Gold>

    <Current bid: 3,031 Gold>

    —————————————-

    “Ohhh…”

    Seeing the final price nearly doubled, I thought our prisoner(?) products(?) would fetch similar prices.

    Thanks to that, even though Ignis and Partia were taking turns maintaining 24-hour surveillance…

    “Wow, they should each get at least 2,500 or 3,000 gold, right?”

    “That’s right, Commander.”

    “If things go well, we might be able to use the money from selling these two to properly utilize the trading system.”

    “I think you’re right, Commander. Maybe later we could even buy a battleship with just gold from the trading window?”

    Jessica and I were indulging in happy fantasies while looking at the trading window where we had listed the two superhumans.

    ==========

    But just one day later.

    —————————————-

    <Auction Cancellation Notice>

    <We regret to inform you that your auction ‘S-Rank Superhuman Axion, Level 60 for sale’ has been canceled due to lack of bidders.>

    <Auction Cancellation Notice>

    <We regret to inform you that your auction ‘S-Rank Superhuman Letty, Level 55 for sale’ has been canceled due to lack of bidders.>

    —————————————-

    ‘What?’

    Instead of the “gold income bonanza” we were expecting, Jessica and I received only cancellation notices because nobody participated in the auction.

    Naturally, I wondered what the problem was and tried to check if anyone had left messages or comments on my posts, but…

    “Hmm.”

    “Did you find anything, Commander?”

    “No, the posts are completely gone.”

    Unfortunately, it seems the auction posts were deleted entirely because the auctions were canceled.

    Unable to find any comments, I decided to take some time to ponder.

    After this period of contemplation, I did what I always do—searched through the wiki tab and community forum.

    If that didn’t work, I planned to ask in the general chat.

    But as I searched, I discovered why nobody had responded to my auctions…

    Title: Required reading for people listing superhumans below SS-Rank on the auction house.txt

    Author: Anonymous

    Content: [Screenshot of auction house search filtered for ‘S-Rank’ only]

    Nobody buys plain S-Rank superhumans

    Unless your luck is unusually strange, S-Ranks are everywhere, so isn’t this obvious?

    [Image of an S-Rank auction with various enhancements.jpg]

    You need at least this much, think about it

    Comments:

    -[Hmm is that so]

    -˪[Yeah, basically nobody buys them unless they’re desperately short on superhuman forces](Author)

    -[Honestly, I might consider SS-Rank or above, but S-Rank and below is kind of iffy]

    -[Plus, since selling S-Ranks with enhancements has become standard, newbies who don’t use the auction house much or are using it for the first time unknowingly list them at ‘market price,’ so people are even less likely to buy them]

    -˪[This is true;;]

    —————————————-

    “Wait, I need to modify them or equip them with gear…?”

    Faced with this completely unexpected problem, I couldn’t hide my bewilderment.
