Ch.185″Complex problems often have solutions right beside them.” (2)

Despite Griyanar’s confident attitude, I had no intention of simply handing over the superhuman prisoners to her.
What if she conducted some grotesque experiment I knew nothing about and turned them into chimeras? Considering she had previously transformed pirates into chimeras with 35% pirate content, I felt it wasn’t wise to entrust superhumans to her care.
Of course, some might say, “Are you really comparing pirates to superhumans? Are you some kind of politically correct activist who believes pirates are living beings too?”
“Commander, don’t tell me you don’t trust me? Professor Griyanar?”
Griyanar herself seemed offended that I appeared to doubt her outstanding intellect and talent.
A clueless newbie might have handed over all three prisoners to Griyanar at this point, but…
“Griyanar.”
“Yes?”
“Remember when you modified some of our people and ended up giving Ignis a ‘front tail’?”
“Ah.”
“And what did you do when you promised to make Berial and Ignis like Pashtra?”
“Umm, well, let’s see…”
Unfortunately, I knew too much about Griyanar’s past misdeeds.
After cutting short her confident behavior, I wondered what she was really up to and started searching for information in the gallery…
After exploring the gallery wiki tab for a while, I discovered that Griyanar actually could do something useful.
To be precise, it wasn’t something only Griyanar could do, but rather something that only superhumans similar to Griyanar could do.
Interestingly, I found this information not in the wiki tab, but in the general gallery.

Title: Attention to those who captured superhumans and are worried about affinity
Author: BrainDoctor
Content: [GIF of Griyanar getting hit on the head while showing off]
Before reading this post, you need some prerequisites:
You MUST have at least one research-type support superhuman with the “Mad Scientist” trait.
You also need to upgrade your biology lab to a certain level.
If you don’t have these, don’t bother reading this post—just go do some petting or sell them as slaves at the auction house.
Of course, if you don’t have any superhumans, just grit your teeth and keep petting.
Anyway, to continue, here’s how it works:
To put it bluntly, the mad scientist character ties up the superhuman and forces their affinity higher through hypnosis, brainwashing, and conditioning.
The exact process varies depending on the faction the commander belongs to.
You’d better see the details for yourself after you order it.
Whatever the method, you can quickly raise superhuman affinity to +100.
You can set how high you want the affinity to go, and naturally, the duration increases with higher values.
But there’s one important issue:
Once you start the process after setting the affinity level, you can’t pull them out midway thinking “this should be enough.”
I don’t know why.
This means the superhuman performing the affinity manipulation becomes unavailable until they reach the affinity level you set.
They simply can’t be selected.
And most importantly, you absolutely cannot use multiple scientists at once.
Only one at a time is possible.

“Hmm, so that’s how it is.”
After deleting the malicious comment from some anonymous user trying to put trash information into my brain, I took a moment to contemplate this.
But only for a moment.
“Not bad… hmm, Jessica?”
“Did you call, Commander?”
“Yes, go to the prison and bring just that one—ah right, ‘Smeragi’ to the command center.”
“Understood. I’ll bring her with restraints securely fastened.”
“And call Griyanar back too. I have something for her to do.”
“Huh? Ah, understood.”
Once my thoughts were somewhat organized, I decided to try this method on Smeragi first among the prisoners.
After all, keeping Partia and Ignis just idly passing time wasn’t productive.
If even one of them became available, I could rotate all three including Berial in shifts, allowing everyone to take it easy.
==========
A little while later…
“Commaaander?! Have you finally prepared an innovative experimental subject for me?!”
“…Experimental subject?”
“Ah.”
I responded with a peculiar expression to Griyanar, who arrived in an even more elevated mood than usual, apparently having heard everything from Jessica.
Then, pointing at Smeragi who had been dragged to the command center as instructed, I said:
“I don’t know exactly what you’re planning to do, but take her and try whatever method you have in mind.”
“My, Commander, aren’t you going to offer any explanation or express any concerns?”
When I calmly told her to take Smeragi away, Griyanar opened her eyes wide in surprise.
Her expression seemed to say, “How can you trust me so readily with something like this?”
I shook my head at her attitude and replied in a calm tone:
“Griyanar, I already know you’re the best when it comes to this sort of thing.”
“…Huh?”
“I don’t know what you’re going to do, but you were acting so confident because you can deliver the best results, right?”
“Y-yes? Of course! Nothing is impossible for Professor Griyanar!”
After initially appearing to malfunction when I responded calmly, Griyanar was delighted to the point her ears could have reached her mouth when I acknowledged her abilities…
“Well then, since the Commander has acknowledged me, I should work hard accordingly!”
“…”
“Let’s go, kitty!”
“W-wait! Let me go! Nyaaaa!”
From beneath her oversized lab coat that she always wore loosely, Griyanar deployed her “pet tentacles.”
She snatched up Smeragi, who was bound like a chrysalis on the floor with her limbs restrained, lifted her up, and began moving away with wriggling motions.
Of course, Smeragi, being carried away while tightly bound, reacted with absolute terror…
“Nyaaaa!!! It’s slimy and disgusting, nya! Put me down, nya! I’ll walk by myself, nyaaaa!”
“How could you walk in that state? Just let me carry you like this.”
Unfortunately, our ma-ad scientist Professor Griyanar had no intention of accepting Smeragi’s desperate resistance.
Instead, she began looking at the struggling Smeragi with the eyes of someone examining an experimental subject…
Although I had decided to just press the affinity +100 button and not worry too much about “whatever she was going to do but it would work out well,” I couldn’t help but be curious.
So I casually asked Griyanar, who was heading to her nest(?) in the biology lab:
“Ah, Griyanar, I have one question.”
“Ask me anything, Commander!”
“May I ask what exactly you’re planning to do?”
“Hmm?”
At my question, Griyanar tilted her head with an enigmatic expression.
After looking around the command center, she shrugged and answered in a light tone:
“You can watch if you want… but I don’t think it would suit the tastes of you or Jessica.”
After hearing those words, as Jessica and I looked at Smeragi—whose mouth was now covered with tentacle secretion to silence her complaints, making muffled sounds while staring at us—we couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for her.
However, that feeling lasted for about five seconds before I dismissed it entirely.
