After investigating all OSA personnel in other branches, there were approximately 200 employees and field agents with the initials R.F.
Of those, about 30 were assigned to the Las Vegas headquarters, and only three worked in departments related to the trap Dexter had set.
The three people gathered in the Special Investigation Team’s office were looking at the personnel documents Himena had handed them.
“Riley Foster, Richard Fisher, Rascal Fitzroy.”
“One of those names sounds familiar.”
“Right, that Rascal guy.”
“Oh, the one with the slick face?”
When Jesse responded as if she already knew who they were talking about, Dexter looked at her with curiosity.
“How do you know him?”
“That bastard tried to hit on me and almost got punched by a senior mechanic.”
“Makes sense.”
Dexter was curious about the state of Rascal who had fearlessly approached Jesse, who not only already had a partner but was also under the protection of senior mechanics, but that wasn’t the important issue.
“Where were each of these three when the request was made to the mafia?”
“Agent Foster was working at headquarters at that time, Agent Fisher was at home, and that Rascal guy…”
“Was on a one-day leave.”
At Himena’s words, Dexter grinned.
“He’s dead meat.”
Rascal belonged to the Support Department.
It was located next to the Science and Technology Department, and since most important investigations and inspections went through the Science and Technology Department, it was a good position to get involved whenever something happened.
As soon as the three arrived at the Support Department, Dexter was the first to look around searching for Rascal.
The three were already notorious within OSA, so when they arrived together at the Support Department, the staff started whispering.
“I’ve seen those two occasionally, but who’s that person in the mechanic’s uniform? First time seeing them.”
“I heard they were recommended by Agent Ribero. That’s why they sometimes move with the Special Investigation Team to help out.”
“That’s quite a formidable combination.”
Rascal, who had been focused on his work, raised his head when the surroundings became noisy, wondering what was happening. He was startled to see a broadly smiling Dexter slowly approaching him.
‘What, what’s with this guy?’
Dexter was indeed smiling, but it wasn’t because something was funny or he was happy.
‘This familiar scent.’
The scent of a rather expensive men’s cologne could be detected from where he stood.
That was the scent.
Eventually, Dexter reached Rascal’s desk, placed his hand on Rascal’s shoulder, and said:
“Rascal Fitzroy?”
“…What?”
“Would you like to come with me?”
“Can’t you see I’m working right n— ARGH!”
When Rascal tried to refuse, Dexter mercilessly grabbed his shoulder and immediately applied enough force as if trying to break it.
“Okay, okay!!”
“Let’s go while I’m still asking nicely.”
“How the fuck is this asking nicely?!”
“Nice for me.”
Despite Rascal’s cursing, Dexter continued smiling, showing a truly merciless side.
Rascal had no choice but to get up from his seat, and the other two shook their heads watching the scene.
“Is he a gangster or a prison guard…?”
“He doesn’t treat inmates like that. Maybe he’s just treating the guy who had him followed this way?”
“Looking at Dexter really makes you feel like… you shouldn’t live a life of crime, doesn’t it?”
“Imagine if he were your enemy. Wow, that would be terrifying.”
The two briefly shuddered thinking about what might have happened if they weren’t working with Dexter, then followed him as he led the still-pained Rascal, who was clutching his shoulder, to the interrogation room.
As soon as Rascal entered the interrogation room, he started complaining.
“Come on, you can’t just drag me in here without even telling me what I’m charged with!”
“I can. I’m the victim here. Well, not just me.”
Dexter stared at Rascal sitting in the chair and said with a smirk:
“The entire OSA has suffered because of your actions.”
“…What nonsense is this?”
When Rascal’s response momentarily hesitated, Dexter didn’t miss it and continued:
“Let’s see. Privacy invasion, leaking top-secret information, probably violations of the Patriot Act too? I hear the Patriot Act will be abolished soon, but I’m sure they’ll handle it appropriately if we turn you in.”
“……”
Rascal was about to respond to Dexter’s words but closed his mouth completely when he saw Dexter still smiling.
“But wasn’t OSA supposed to be quite an impressive organization? Why did you sell information to the Godfather?”
“…You’re saying I sold information to the Godfather? Do you have any evidence?”
“Evidence?”
Instead of answering, Dexter sniffed the air.
“The cologne you’re wearing is quite expensive, isn’t it? I’d guess it costs around 400 to 500 dollars.”
“What does my cologne have to do with—”
“Black necktie.”
“…?”
“Your black necktie with your initials embroidered on it smelled of cologne.”
“…!”
When Rascal turned his head as if he hadn’t expected this and frowned intensely, Dexter shook his head and sneered.
“I have no idea why you gave your necktie to an android, but that’s what led us here.”
“……”
But Rascal just kept frowning, head bowed, without saying a word, which made Dexter click his tongue and shake his head.
Then he picked up a document from the desk and carefully examined it while speaking:
“Let’s see what’s in your OSA entrance profile… Wow, you went to a good school. Looks like an expensive private school, good education, good grades too.”
“……”
“Life might have been boring for you? Everything was too smooth sailing. Doesn’t seem like you’ve ever failed at anything… Your family seems wealthy too, so why?”
Dexter approached Rascal, put his hand on his shoulder, and whispered in his ear:
“Why did you sell out OSA?”
“…When did I ever sell out OSA?”
“You’re denying it? At this point?”
Dexter laughed lightly at Rascal’s bold denial.
“Consider yourself lucky we’re inside OSA, or you’d be getting beaten right now, Rascal Fitzroy. With my temperament, today would have been your chance to find out how far your medical insurance coverage extends.”
“…!”
“So I’m giving you a chance. I could run straight to the Director right now and say, ‘I’ve caught an OSA spy, please give me the opportunity to administer personal sanctions.’ And he might say, ‘Hahaha, I hope you extract the information!’ and hand you over to me.”
“Do you think Director Makoa is a muscle-head like you?”
“No, but he is human.”
“……”
“Think about it. How angry would you be if the planet where you and your family were born and have lived all your lives was threatened because of some privileged punk who’s never experienced hardship? If I were Director Makoa, I’d hand you over in a heartbeat.”
“Like I said, Director Makoa wouldn’t hand me over to a muscle-head like y— AAAAGH!”
*Crack*
“Stop interrupting me if you don’t want to die.”
As if his previous use of force had been just a joke, Dexter applied tremendous pressure to Rascal’s shoulder, causing him to involuntarily scream from the intense pain.
-Dexter, stop it! No matter how much of a piece of shit he is, violence is not allowed!
“Hnngh, hnnngh!”
“Did you hear that? Himena called you a piece of shit. Himena likes to curse, but this is the first time I’ve seen her curse so explicitly.”
-Dexter!
“Fine, I’ll stop applying pressure.”
Dexter removed his hand from Rascal’s shoulder, but Rascal’s clavicle was already half-crushed from Dexter’s overwhelming strength.
“Nngh, hnngh…”
As Rascal couldn’t speak and kept groaning while holding his arm, Dexter sat on the edge of the desk and said:
“It would have been better if you’d just spoken honestly. Why don’t you listen? When was it? You were helplessly beaten by Himena in front of that Korean restaurant, so why are you being snippy with me?”
“Hngh, you fucking bastard…!”
“Hey, I’ve heard that insult so many times it’s boring.”
Rascal had a lot to say too, but as Dexter pointed out, having lived a smooth life without hardship and never having experienced pain, he was using all his strength just to endure the intense pain in his shoulder.
“But why is the proud OSA agent Rascal in this situation?”
“…because of you…”
“I can’t hear you, speak louder.”
“You, because of YOUUU! You! Dexter Hughes, you fucking bastard!”
“That’s better, you need to speak up.”
Rascal’s cursing didn’t really matter to Dexter.
“Everything, ALL of it!! You!! Dexter, it’s all because of you!! Do you think I enjoyed selling OSA information?!”
“Oh, so you’re finally confessing?”
Dexter looked at Rascal with a disgusted expression and said:
“Keep mumbling.”
“Ugh…”
“Go ahead and tell me. What did I ever do wrong to you?”
Rascal didn’t answer and looked toward the two-way mirror in the interrogation room.
Behind the two-way mirror, Himena and Jesse were waiting anxiously, but Rascal couldn’t see them.
Seeing Rascal suddenly looking toward where Himena was, Dexter observed him quietly and then said in a cheerful voice:
“What, do you miss Himena?”
“…You dog…”
“Hey, Himena! Come in here for a second. Mr. Fitzroy is desperately looking for you.”
At Dexter’s sudden call, Himena entered the interrogation room, and Rascal’s gaze changed dramatically from before.
It wasn’t a tender or worried look that one would give to a loved one, but rather a gaze filled with raw greed.
Naturally, Himena could only express disgust at Rascal looking at her with such eyes.
“Those eyes, THOSE EYES!!!”
Himena flinched in surprise as Rascal seemed to scream at her.
“What, what’s wrong with him?”
“The reason?”
With those words, Dexter examined Himena’s expression.
Himena had never once looked at Dexter with disgust.
“Why, why doesn’t she make that face at this guy who’s worse than me, WHY!! WHYYY!!”
It was the moment when the mask finally fell from Rascal, who had always portrayed himself as a mannerly, nice guy.
Dexter, Himena, and even Jesse, who was watching Rascal from the adjacent room, all watched with hardened expressions as his greedy gaze and ugly nature were fully exposed.
Himena, who initially didn’t understand what was happening, immediately grasped the situation upon seeing Rascal’s unmasked self.
“So this is Mr. Rascal’s true face?”
“So what! You Nica bitch (a slur for Central/South Americans), just because your daddy made some money, you look at me with those eyes? Does that make sense?! If you were born in America, you’d be crawling like a cockroach and selling your body!”
“W-what did you say?”
“Look at you with that white trash guy, sucking up to each other! I can’t stand that you chose that muscle-head over me! No, actually it suits you! Cockroaches should live in garbage heaps dancing to La Cucaracha!”
Himena was left breathless, having never before heard so many contemptuous slurs directed at her in such rapid succession.
“What is… Dexter…?”
“What you just heard is the true face of this spy bastard.”
With those words, Dexter slowly lifted Rascal by the collar with one hand.
“In the end, you’re just trash relying on violence! What, are you going to do something to my face like you crushed my shoulder? The Godfather Olivia was right! People with no discernment, making shabby choices! Why don’t you hit me again! Go ahead, HIT MEEE!”
Despite squeezing his eyes shut whenever Dexter clenched his fist, Rascal continued his outburst, making Dexter feel nothing but pity for him.
“Himena, what should we do?”
Dexter passed the decision to Himena.
Having received the decision, Himena was still processing the barrage of insults Rascal had hurled at her.
As she went through each insult one by one, a vein bulged on Himena’s forehead.
“What did you call me? Nica? Cockroach? Sell my body?”
Dexter had seen Himena’s face turn red from embarrassment before, but this was the first time he’d seen her face flush with genuine anger. He chose one course of action.
While still holding Rascal by the collar, he moved his arm to position Rascal directly in front of Himena, making it easier for her to take action.
“What are you going to do, your precious white trash boyfriend—”
“Shut your fucking mouth, asshole!”
Himena’s curse burst out, and at that moment, time seemed to flow slowly.
Himena’s right foot moved slowly backward.
Her right foot moved with her leg, bending back mercilessly.
When it had bent back to a sufficient angle, her right foot moved forward again.
Himena gathered tight strength in her ankle and calf, and drove her right foot straight between Rascal’s legs, aiming for his perineum.
*THWACK*
“…uh…”
What came from Rascal’s mouth wasn’t a scream or the sound of air escaping, but literally a silent scream of death throes.
Although the heel itself was low, almost like a flat shoe, Himena happened to be wearing shoes with pointed toes like high heels today.
When those pointed shoes hit near the perineum, even Dexter, who was watching, closed his eyes as if he could feel the pain.
“Oh my, what a world.”
Dexter released his grip on the collar.
“Ugh, ugh…”
Rascal fell to the floor with a thud, but rolling on the floor wasn’t the problem.
The problem was that the front of Rascal’s dark gray suit pants was becoming wet with something.
As the liquid seeped out of his pants, Dexter covered his eyes with one hand at the pitiful sight.
“Himena.”
Regardless of whether Rascal was wetting himself on the floor, Himena, who was still breathing heavily, turned to Dexter who was covering his eyes.
“What?”
“That… never mind. Well done…”
Dexter, who had been watching, couldn’t continue speaking due to the tingling sensation he felt in his lower body.
