Ch.176176. Base Portal
by fnovelpia
[Hidden Quest]
[Achievement – Novice Explorer 2]
[The true master of dimensions begins by knowing every map thoroughly, without a single hidden spot.]
[Let’s reveal 100% of Level 1 Biome.]
[Reward: Achievement Points 5, 30,000 Fam, Farming Stat Points 30, Base +30P increase, Base Teleportation Portal(SSS+) x1, Base Teleportation Portal(F) x1, ‘Auxiliary Base’ activation]
After fully revealing the Level 1 Biome swamp area, both the hidden quest and the sub-quest Novice Explorer 2 were completed.
The sub-quest rewards were:
– Achievement Points 2
– 10,000 Fam
– Farming Stat Points 20
– Base +20P increase
– Random Base Box(C) x10
With the hidden quest rewards added, this time there were many base-related rewards.
My achievement points accumulated to 12.
The farming stat points that I had spent during my trip to Earth were replenished, exceeding 100 again to reach 105.
Fam was steadily piling up.
But that wasn’t something to be too happy about since it would quickly disappear once I started filling the village with NPCs.
The base definitely received a lot from the explorer quests—my base, which was originally 50P, instantly became 100P through this quest.
The vastly expanded base was now almost large enough to consider building a mansion.
Of course, I hadn’t gathered enough materials for that yet.
The rewards from the Rift Dimension are definitely substantial.
Perhaps it’s intentional—since the monsters are more difficult, they compensate by making other aspects less time-consuming.
Besides that, the combat-related rewards are so good that, honestly, as long as I don’t do anything stupid, I haven’t felt that the difficulty is particularly high yet.
Is it because I started off on the right foot and collected all the rewards?
I can’t help but keep mentioning Lulu’s previous owner, who skipped the Corrupted Forest and also avoided the swamp area due to poor compatibility.
So they probably died around the Level 3-4 biomes.
Or maybe they went further but died at Levels 3-4.
Whatever the case, their death suggests that either the difficulty spikes dramatically at some point, or there comes a moment when failing to thoroughly collect everything leads to hitting a wall, so I shouldn’t let my guard down.
I shouldn’t think of those who died before me as idiots, but humbly consider them as seniors who shed blood and sweat.
That way, the next person won’t laugh at me saying, “What an idiot, dying at that point, haha.”
Anyway, this reward was very satisfying and made all the effort of clearing the map worthwhile. The key elements of the Novice Explorer 2 reward were the ‘Auxiliary Base’ activation and the base teleportation portals that could connect them.
The base teleportation portal is exactly what it sounds like—an instant teleportation portal.
Portals that enable instant movement between bases are considered essential base items in the Farming World. They’re commonly used to connect farms and cabins.
At first, it’s convenient to build and manage a farm in the front yard, but as time passes and the farm grows larger in a farming game, there inevitably comes a point when having a farm in your front yard becomes inconvenient and cumbersome.
Especially when you gain some leeway later on, you’ll want to upgrade your cabin, build a mansion, and decorate the surrounding landscape. Having farmland there would be like an awkward mansion standing alone in agricultural land—fields would greatly detract from the aesthetics. So once you reach the tech level to create or obtain base teleportation portals, you typically move your fields to more fertile and spacious areas, and install base teleportation portals connecting those places to your cabin.
In Suhyeon’s Farming World 1, I had huge greenhouses lined up next to my mansion, but those weren’t my main farms.
There, I just harvested expensive crops that could be harvested year-round in small quantities and stored them in warehouses. My mass production fields were spread across Levels 4, 7, 9, and other suitable biomes, where I plowed large areas of land.
Base teleportation portals connect these places, and the ‘Auxiliary Base’ system is what makes this possible.
Auxiliary bases can only be used in biomes where you’ve completed explorer sub-quests and achievements. You can designate auxiliary bases within revealed maps by using your base P.
In other words, you’re not limited to using just your cabin as a base—you can make any area where you’ve completed explorer quests into an auxiliary base.
Using this, you can register dangerous dungeon entrances or similar locations as auxiliary bases for easy access.
Of course, being a base doesn’t make it safe, so you still need to clear the surroundings yourself.
But since you can only designate auxiliary bases after clearing at least 80% of a biome, there haven’t been many major issues with creating teleportation portals.
The portals have strong durability and can maintain invisibility to monsters.
The same applied in the Rift Dimension.
[Base Teleportation Portal]
– Grade: SSS+
– Enables movement between installed ‘Base Teleportation Portals’
– Installation restrictions based on grade (Current: No restrictions)
– When installed at ‘Cabin’, unlimited teleportation between bases without additional charging
– When installed at ‘Cabin’, all base teleportation portals gain Invisibility(SSS+) effect
– When installed at ‘Cabin’, all base teleportation portals gain Durability(SSS+) effect
– When installed at ‘Cabin’, movement between all base teleportation portals regardless of grade
“This is basically threatening me at knifepoint to install it at the cabin.”
One SSS+ grade and one F grade.
The F grade was obviously for Level 0 biomes, and indeed it was.
[Base Teleportation Portal]
– Grade: F
– Enables movement between installed ‘Base Teleportation Portals’
– Installation restrictions based on grade (Current: Level 0 Biome)
So the SSS+ grade portal serves as the main central connection hub, and they gave me an F grade as a sample to try out.
If they were going to give one after completing a Level 1 hidden quest, they could have at least made it E grade to work with Level 1.
Of course, right now I don’t need to connect to the Level 1 biome, so I’ll likely connect it to a place where I’ll make fields.
“Hmm. First, I’ll install the SSS+ grade one in front of the cabin.”
One might think it would be better to install it inside the house, but that’s not the case.
If I were the only one using it, that might be better, but typically base teleportation portals should be installed in locations convenient for all NPCs and slaves who work there.
After all, base teleportation portals are used more for daily trips to fields and farms rather than for adventures or exploration.
A portal connecting to the village is also essential.
So rather than having NPCs come out from inside the house, it’s better to place it outside, in front of the door.
“Wow. This looks so cool. What is this?”
The teleportation portal is installed on the ground like a magic circle, with a soft light rising up to the sky.
It gives the impression that stepping onto it would send you flying somewhere.
I place it slightly to the left of the cabin entrance, keeping some distance from the chest.
Originally, there was a Chaos Stone Purification Cauldron here, so after passing through the portal, one can use the cauldron.
Well, I can change the position anytime, so I’ll just set it up roughly for now.
The remaining one is the issue.
“Hmm. Where should I put it for the most convenience?”
The grade of the F-grade base teleportation portal isn’t a problem.
Anyway, considering the convenience of farm movement, I’ll need to install a few more in the Level 0 biome.
The problem is that I only have one.
Just thinking about it, I’d need about 3-4 to conveniently connect the main points of the Level 0 biome.
The first place that comes to mind is the village.
The village is relatively close, but still about 2-3 km away.
As I fill the village with NPCs and increasingly need to purchase things there, installing a portal in the village would significantly help save time.
Next is the Naru tribe’s village.
Even though the Naru are newcomers, they’re already so capable that Kim Soo-jung values them and uses them as assistants in farming.
There are many half-elves with farming abilities, and they share varieties that only elves possess, making them Kim Soo-jung’s favorite tribe.
Especially when I expand the fields and the World Tree grows, allowing serious farming to begin, making it easier for the Naru to frequent the farm might help increase work efficiency.
After all, the Corrupted Forest—now the Forest of Purification—is almost 5 km away.
It’s between these two.
The orchard isn’t that important, and while the Black Monkeys come and go, they’re good at physical labor.
“Let’s install the one we’ll use first.”
Still, it makes sense to address the more efficient option first.
I gathered the Naru tribe to make an impression.
