Ch.172172. Dimensional Trade Subspace
by fnovelpia
I’ve never seen a dimensional trade subspace in the Farming World before, even as an evil spirit.
Since I never had the opportunity to see a dimensional movement skill while playing Farming World, it’s always a fresh and thrilling skill.
That’s why I always shout “Damn, it’s expensive!” but end up making additional payments for the skill anyway.
Whether upgrading to level 2, level 3, or level 4.
The amount of points required is so expensive that I think, “How many skills could I have learned with this?” But it’s always a skill I never regret learning once I have it.
No. I’m actually satisfied with it.
“The subspace is pretty good, though?”
Honestly, since upgrading my belt to 35 slots, I haven’t felt particularly lacking when gathering items for dimensional exchange during my trips back and forth.
Even if I crammed in all sorts of things, I rarely needed to carry more than 35 items.
Of course, I could exceed 35 items if I collected small crops or herbs, but those could be compressed by putting them in carriers.
However, just because I could do that didn’t mean it was convenient.
The 35-slot belt wasn’t meant for transporting items; it was more like a storage container used for farming in the Rift Dimension.
Originally in Farming World, at least 10 slots would be filled with tools and weapons, and the remaining slots would barely be enough for food that could be eaten quickly, cooked meals, water, bandages for wounds, and other items for immediate use. That’s why we’d carry a separate bag for farmed resources.
So while the belt was currently being used for temporary transport, it wasn’t suitable for inter-dimensional exchange.
Eventually, as the resources produced and mined at the farm increased, we’d need to either make more storage boxes or expand the belt. This Login/Logout Level 4 option would completely eliminate that concern.
I can’t quite bring myself to say it’s worth the 25 points invested… but it’s not bad.
The capacity is generous too.
At 10P, it’s 10M x 10M x 10M—not exactly an enormous warehouse yet, but considering the volume of goods we move around with our current farm size, it means I no longer need to cram things into my belt and pull them out like loose change. I can comfortably put things in and out of the subspace and organize them.
Plus, this subspace isn’t only usable during dimensional movement.
Though it’s called a space for “dimensional exchange,” as the owner of Login/Logout, I can open and close this dimensional exchange subspace anywhere, anytime.
Even though it’s for dimensional exchange, you need to be able to put items in and take them out from any dimension at any time to ensure you don’t forget to bring them to another dimension.
So in conclusion, this 10P subspace exclusively for “dimensional exchange” is like my own walking warehouse.
A shared box.
Something I can put things in and take out of anytime, whether in the Rift Dimension or reality.
“Wow. Amazing. So I just put things in here now? I can even go inside? It could even be used as a hiding place.”
“That’s not possible, you fool.”
The subspace can only be used as a subspace.
You can briefly enter it to organize items in the spacious area, but isolation from dimensions is impossible.
Well, in a truly dangerous situation, you could enter briefly to avoid danger, but it doesn’t have the function of escaping from all crises by hiding inside, like in novels.
“Oppa. So I can put luggage in here, right? Can I open it myself?”
“Just a moment.”
Another good point is that the authority to open the subspace can be shared.
There were limitations, of course.
You must be in the same dimension and cannot exceed a certain distance (100M).
It seemed like they were allowing convenience but preventing exploitation of the subspace for dimensional exchange shortcuts.
Using the subspace for dimensional exchange makes sense; if items were exchanged through this subspace between dimensions, it would defeat the purpose of logging in and out. Similarly, exchanging items over long distances on Earth would also reduce travel time.
It’s unnecessarily complicated, but I was grateful that I could at least grant limited authority rather than having to open it every time someone needed to organize something in the subspace.
Besides that, being able to bring along up to three companions was perhaps the main reason I spent 25 points to level up Login/Logout.
Additionally, the ability to stack up to three times was quite significant.
The cooldown reduction of 24 hours per level was a basic effect, so I won’t even bother mentioning it.
With one stack every 4 days, usable up to 3 times, we could essentially come and go whenever we wanted without any real risk, given our current number of people.
“Hehehehe. I should raid Dad’s warehouse.”
Kim Sujeong excitedly urged me.
“Oppa. Let’s go. Gwangjin Distribution’s warehouse has tons of stuff now that they’ve brought in daily necessities too.”
“…”
“Ah, please. Boss. You can just rest there while I put the items in. Okay?”
“Sigh.”
I learned this skill to make things easier, but she’s already figuring out how to use her brain.
Kim Sujeong would drive and organize the luggage, but since I needed to be within 100M to open the subspace, she figured out it was better to bring the subspace itself rather than packing and carrying lots of items.
She definitely has the kind of resourcefulness our farm needs.
The problem is that I have to go.
On the way, we got hamburgers to take out. I lounged around in Dad’s office while Kim Sujeong began filling the subspace with boxes of daily necessities we’d take this time.
Like playing Tetris in the warehouse.
I opened the subspace to take a look, and it seemed incredibly novel and convenient.
“Wow. I don’t have to carry and stack these?”
The subspace is literally another space.
A space from another dimension.
The gravity and laws that apply there are different from Earth’s.
There, you don’t need to carry items and go in to stack them; you just need to envision where you want the item to go, and it will place itself there.
“This is more convenient.”
You just need to put items into the subspace, and even if you just throw them in, they automatically get neatly organized—like magic.
“It’s so convenient. So very convenient.”
Kim Sujeong seemed to have already fallen for the charm of the subspace.
Before I knew it, more than half of the spacious subspace warehouse was filled.
That many items had been removed from the warehouse, but it would be unfair to compare Gwangjin Distribution’s warehouse with a subspace of only 10P, given how large it was.
“Oppa. Is it true that vegetables won’t expire if they’re kept in here?”
“Probably?”
And the best thing about the subspace is that it maintains freshness.
This was a concept in Farming World too, where some item inventories preserved food freshness and others didn’t.
Subspaces were considered a higher concept than inventories for that reason.
They were extremely difficult to obtain, and even when you did, they weren’t very large—like carrying a refrigerator.
Well, if you delve into why food spoils and goes bad, there were many science-oriented Farming World users who would debate whether microorganisms could survive in inventories, but all these things were ultimately resolved by the plausibility of “the game,” and the Rift Dimension was no different.
It could all be explained away with the term “unknown power,” which was even more mysterious than a game.
It’s easier to just accept it as it is.
“Pack some things we can’t get at the farm right now. And some seasonal fruits too.”
Every time we went, we brought food that couldn’t be obtained at the farm, but due to belt limitations, we could only bring small amounts of things like ramen. Now, entire boxes were being stacked in.
Well, there wasn’t much the farm needed anymore, so most of it had to be food.
Even for food itself, since Kim Sujeong had learned Cooking SS rank and could make dishes from harvested crops, instant foods had to be the main focus.
So, leaving about 20% of the subspace empty just in case, we packed it full and then…
“Hello.”
“Soli unnie. Hello. Nice to see you again. Let’s get along well!”
We logged in with Kim Soli, who had brought three large carriers packed full.
“Wooooow! Amazing. What is this place? Is this really Farming World? Wow! There’s a cabin. And fields too. This is totally like the early map. Boss!”
Kim Soli, who had been exchanging somewhat awkward greetings with Kim Sujeong with a shy expression, suddenly disappeared. As soon as she saw the vast resources and familiar scenery spread out around her, she went wild.
“No way. How can this be possible when it’s not a game? Is this a dungeon? Is it like a base inside a dungeon or something?”
“…Please calm down. I’ll explain everything.”
I took the excited Kim Soli inside the cabin.
“Master!!!!”
“Gasp! Could it be a helper NPC?”
“Not an NPC, but a fairy. Lulu, go bring some drinks.”
“Hehe. I’ve kept what you prepared a few days ago nice and cool.”
The farm has gained one more family member.
