    # Chapter 169: The Four Nations War (3)

And regarding the various guerrilla activities, rebellions, and supply line disruptions happening in the former Kerzin Federation territory.

“Actually, we’ve been secretly supporting those.”

    “Ohhh…”

After adding a bit of (?) MSG to the situation, I decided to share this information with the old admiral from Kerzin who was traveling with the 3rd Fleet.

The funny thing is, I never thought this would actually work.

After all, the distance between the Kerzin Federation, the Uko’Praknar Interstellar Union, and the Nurval Republic wasn’t particularly short.

With proper high-powered hyperspace communication equipment, it should have been possible to establish communication between the admiral’s fleet and the interior of the Kerzin Federation.

So even as I said these words to the old admiral…

‘Of course I’m joking, and the efforts of the Kerzin Federation people are widely recognized throughout the galaxy.’

That’s what I was about to follow up with, but…

“Thank you, truly thank you! Duke Arto!”

Seeing the holographic old admiral shedding tears of gratitude and trying to embrace me in such a bizarre manner, I missed my chance to refute.

“Um, please calm down first… Once this war is over, since you’ll need to participate in the government-in-exile, please take care of yourself.”

“Sniff… Ah, Your Grace Duke Arto!”

    -Beep!

    -Communication terminated.

As soon as the communication ended, I couldn’t understand the situation at all.

‘Why aren’t the resistance forces and the fleet communicating when they’re not even that far apart?’

Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, an event message provided a sort of answer to my question…

    -Ding♬

    [Pause]

    [Event: World of Strange Energy]

[An astonishing phenomenon has been discovered.]

[The largest offensive in galactic history and the resulting flow of countless energies has created weather phenomena so bizarre they’re among the rarest ever recorded in the entire galaxy.]

[Though the exact principles remain undiscovered, for some reason, massive energy storms composed of tremendous energy flows are traversing the vacuum of space across various regions of the former Kerzin Federation, including areas near the border with the Sir-Hod Alliance.]

[As a result, all wavelengths except visible light passing through these areas are experiencing disturbances.]

[How fascinating. (Upon completion of this research project, the Holy Sebeli Empire will gain the trait “Advancement in Space Weather Science” (Research +5%, increased chance of weather science-related technologies appearing))]

    ‘…Oh.’

Based on the original game, it seems something like a space storm has formed.

At any rate, because of this, the Kerzin admiral and fleet couldn’t communicate with their homeland.

Meanwhile, we sneaky fellows had separate relay stations that bypassed the influence of that strange storm, so we had no issues.

    ‘A very interesting result indeed.’

It was truly a case of luck upon luck.

Feeling relieved once again that I was luckier than I thought, I disabled the pause.

    [Pause disabled]

Now that the full-scale war was underway, I decided to leave it to the experts while focusing on reviving my intelligence network and, as always, paying attention to internal affairs within the Empire.

    ——————————-

    The Eastern Three Nations.

The battle between the Sir-Hod Alliance, Nurval Republic, and Uko’Praknar Interstellar Union against the Fuxviet Federation was quite messy in many ways.

“Why can’t we just push through like the Prosnark do!”

“Our fleet numbers should be overwhelmingly superior, why! How!”

Indeed, if comparing just fleet numbers, the Fuxviet Federation’s fleet certainly had the advantage.

    “Because we’re not Prosnark…?”

    “Gaaaaaaah!!!!”

Unfortunately, as the parties themselves acknowledged, the Fuxviet were not the Prosnark.

Above all, unlike the Prosnark, the Fuxviet’s war effort had significant problems on all fronts.

The biggest issue was that they hadn’t achieved fleet eliteness through continuous warfare like the Prosnark had.

Second, while the Federation’s fleet numbers were certainly greater…

The number of large ships that could be considered the main force of the fleet, such as cruisers and above, was woefully inadequate for their size…

    And finally…

“One may be weak, but together we are strong!”

“United we stand, divided we fall!”

    “…?”

The Eastern Three Nations were strangely bound together.

Despite their different cultures, systems, and species.

Even though two of the nations had suffered catastrophes like rebellions and civil wars.

By presenting an overwhelming threat, they managed the remarkable feat of forcing these three countries to join forces in resistance.

“The Fuxviet bastards can’t be trusted!”

    “Right! Right!”

Thus united, the combined forces of the three nations became a match for the overwhelming might of the Fuxviet.

Additionally, the butterfly effect of the Fuxviet’s past needless provocations against Sir-Hod and Nurval had come back to haunt them.

“Why is there a fortress here?”

    “Because of you.”

Even their betrayal for a surprise attack only achieved half its goal.

Meanwhile, their surprise fleet was surrounded and annihilated while retreating.

Their performance, a perfect demonstration of what a total disaster looks like, had made them the laughingstock of the entire galaxy.

But apart from these outward appearances, the important point was…

    “We’re all going to dieeeee…”

    “Please make it stoooop!”

To maintain these “situations,” the forces of the Eastern Three Nations were being ground down in real-time against the Fuxviet Federation’s offensive.

Although the Fuxviet Federation had shown an ugly side both initially and throughout, earning them treatment as a “trustworthy ally” (laughter) from their “ally” Prosnark.

And despite being openly mocked in the diplomatic halls of the Galactic Alliance.

    “What’s our advantage?”

    “Um… our large numbers?”

“If they can’t even launch an offensive without fortress networks for defense, why should we waste our forces through limited routes?”

    “…Oh.”

That didn’t mean the Fuxviet’s capabilities had diminished in any way, considering they had overthrown the formidable Mekt-Fux nation.

And earned Prosnark’s alliance by butchering Zeltech’s defense fleet and devouring half their territory.

“From now on, we implement a thorough rotation strategy.”

    “What?”

“Since going in brutishly like the Prosnark isn’t our style, we’ll keep cycling our fleets to match their forces and wear them down.”

The decisive plan from the Fuxviet high command, objectively assessing the situation, was literally bleeding the Eastern Three Nations dry.

    “This is killing us, seriously.”

“Yeah, just when we think we’ve repelled one offensive, a fresh fleet arrives, and when that one retreats, another one comes.”

The Eastern Three Nations had been holding back their numerical disadvantage with pre-established fortress networks and defense lines.

But our red-flavored Fuxviet Federation kept rotating fleets matched to the defensive forces of the Eastern Three Nations.

Like a grinder, they slowly wore down the defense lines while withdrawing depleted fleets to the rear for reorganization.

And once reorganized, these fleets would either stand by or be redeployed to hammer the defense lines again.

    As a result.

Barely three months after the fall of the Kerzin Federation…

The fortress-covered borders of the Sir-Hod Alliance and Nurval Republic facing the Fuxviet had suddenly become as thin as a Kukudas cookie shell.

“Ah, finally those damned defense lines will collapse today.”

    “At last!!!”

Though different from the Prosnark, the Fuxviet strategy showed the ultimate disregard for human life.

But the results showed just how effective it was against the Eastern Three Nations.

At this rate, with the exception of patrol fleets and capital defense fleets, everything would be lost.

The defense lines they had been maintaining by summoning every last resource, down to their very souls, were about to collapse, leaving the Eastern Three Nations to be trampled by the Fuxviet fleet…

    But at that moment.

    “Sebelians, assemble!!”

Along with the Kerzin and Rixi fleets.

The Holy Sebeli Empire’s fleet appeared between the Eastern Three Nations’ defense lines and the Fuxviet Federation’s fleet.

“The, the Sebeli fleet has arrived!”

“And the Rixi and Kerzin fleets too?”

    “We’re saved!”

The exhausted defense forces of the Eastern Three Nations cheered for the Holy Sebeli Empire that had appeared at this perfect timing.

“It was the right choice to side with the Sebeli Empire.”

Especially the government of the Nurval Republic, which had become a vassal state of the Sebeli Empire, experienced the happy result of exponentially increasing support.

And naturally, the Sebeli fleet was about to launch a counterattack against the Fuxviet Federation fleet that was trying to break through the defense line…

    But at that moment.

    “How about… we call it a draw…?”

    “…Huh?”

The Holy Sebeli Empire’s 3rd Fleet, having rushed all the way from the opposite side of the galaxy, completed all battle preparations and reorganization for their first battle…

Only to have it end so anticlimactically, earning them the glory(?) of adding a new record to the Galactic Alliance’s Book of Records.

[Fleet that ended its first battle the fastest: Holy Sebeli Empire 3rd Fleet (30 minutes)]
