Ch.164[Episode 164] Epilogue of a New World
by fnovelpia
“Should I place the bed here?”
Sir Dominic took a bed out of his inventory and placed it in the middle of the room.
Of course, it wasn’t Sir Dominic’s room.
The house Sir Dominic purchased had an option to buy additional rooms.
This wasn’t an option that existed from the beginning.
It was one of the patch updates that came with regression.
With the introduction of the new tag match rule, houses could now be decorated specifically for tag matches.
Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica stopped by a real estate office on their way back and spent additional Gacha Stones to create a new room.
“Good thing we bought various items. Otherwise, we would’ve had just a bed without wallpaper or flooring.”
Sir Dominica said while placing small items on the shelf.
The elegant wallpaper with mixed ivory and brown colors, along with the dark brown walnut hardwood flooring, made the room look fit for nobility.
“By the way…”
Sir Dominic said while hanging curtains on the window.
“Gachaland seems like a new place every time I visit.”
“Indeed.”
Sir Dominica agreed with Sir Dominic’s comment.
“All sorts of things happen there.”
Sir Dominica organized the skins alphabetically in the wardrobe she had just set up.
Of course, the wardrobe was brought from Sir Dominic’s room.
Strangely, wardrobes could be duplicated and installed in each room.
However, since the skins were shared, the wardrobe was already filled with Sir Dominic’s skins.
Sir Dominica absent-mindedly started organizing Sir Dominic’s skins alphabetically as well, only to realize she had mixed up all the clothes.
Thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal, Sir Dominica took off her armor and placed it in the wardrobe last.
A black shirt labeled ‘Aggressive Forward’ was revealed.
“…Um, you shouldn’t undress so casually like that.”
Sir Dominic said awkwardly while scratching his cheek.
“What’s the problem? It’s my room now. If anything, it’s strange that you’re concerned about it.”
“It’s also my house. At least.”
Sir Dominic turned his head away and unnecessarily started smoothing out the curtain wrinkles.
Sir Dominica approached Sir Dominic from behind as if she had found something amusing.
“Well well, I didn’t know Sir Dominic’s self-love was so—”
There was a sharp sound as a sword was drawn from Sir Dominic’s scabbard.
The sharp edge of the blade touched Sir Dominica’s nape.
Sir Dominic’s eyes gleamed more sharply than the keenest part of the sword.
“…Ah.”
Sir Dominic made a foolish sound.
“I apologize. It seems the lingering tension from earlier remains.”
Sir Dominic sheathed his sword again.
Sir Dominica stared at Sir Dominic with surprised eyes.
She was so shocked that she wondered if he was overreacting just because she teased him.
However, Sir Dominica soon understood Sir Dominic.
Until now, Sir Dominic had lived a very soft life.
The same was true for Sir Dominica herself.
Those soft experiences had been effective in tempering Sir Dominic’s aggressive tendencies, but conversely… it meant that Sir Dominic’s aggression had always been suppressed.
Once someone becomes a warrior, they never forget their belligerence.
This was true for both Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica.
The aggression that had heated up during the fight with the Chief of Staff and the administrator was not something that could be easily calmed down after being suppressed for so long.
Both Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica knew this well.
But why was Sir Dominica less aggressive while Sir Dominic reacted so sensitively?
It was because Sir Dominic had been living his life suppressing himself under the pretext of chivalry.
As everyone knows, suppressed emotions tend to burst out even more intensely.
“…Sorry. I didn’t think about that.”
Sir Dominica apologized to Sir Dominic.
“No. I reacted too sensitively, so there’s no need to apologize. If anything, I should be the one apologizing.”
Sir Dominic said.
“…I apologize again. It’s not a good time for conversation, so let’s sleep and meet tomorrow.”
“Huh? Oh. Right. It’s getting late anyway.”
Sir Dominic hurriedly left Sir Dominica’s room.
Sir Dominica watched until the door closed and Sir Dominic was no longer visible.
“…He’s sensitive.”
Her aggressive chest heaved greatly.
It seemed she wouldn’t be able to sleep properly tonight.
Sir Dominica sighed.
…
“!”
“Yes, my Lord. This is quite an improvement compared to the previous villa. By the way…”
The Chief of Staff couldn’t hide his admiration as he looked at the Demon Lord sitting on the throne in the antique castle.
Befitting the dignity of a Demon Lord, the throne was decorated with beast horns, Elder Lich ribs, dragon leather, and obsidian—the pinnacle of evil!
It was such a magnificent throne that anyone would be amazed by the Demon Lord’s charisma.
Of course, not as much as the Demon Lord himself.
However, the Chief of Staff’s admiration didn’t last long.
While it was clearly a seat only the greatest could occupy, the Demon Lord wasn’t the only one sitting there.
No, there wasn’t just one throne to begin with.
“?”
Hero Poe Le Jak tilted his head and looked at the Chief of Staff.
There was a splendid throne decorated with gold and diamonds, rubies and velvet, silk and bear fur.
“Indeed! A throne befitting Your Highness the Grand Duke! Though regrettably, it seems slightly inadequate to fully capture Your Highness’s dignity.”
The administrator clapped and laughed heartily.
Then, as if sensing the Chief of Staff’s gaze, the administrator turned his head.
Their gazes collided in mid-air.
“…What are you looking at?”
“You’re one to talk.”
The Chief of Staff’s face turned grim.
Dark energy gathered around the Chief of Staff’s horns, making his already grim expression even more menacing.
The administrator maintained a haughty expression, straightening his back and pushing up his glasses with his finger.
The torchlight reflected off his newly purchased glasses, making them shine white.
“?”
“!”
But the confrontation didn’t last long.
Princess Teu Le Vante and Poe Le Jak tapped their thrones with their small hands, calling for the Chief of Staff and the administrator.
“Ah, yes. My mistake. I apologize for my oversight.”
“Of course, everything is prepared. Just give the signal—”
The Chief of Staff and administrator scrambled at the actions of the Demon Lord and Hero.
The administrator gave a signal with a clap.
In response to the signal the Chief of Staff gave with his fingers hidden behind his back, the entrance to the throne room opened.
White mist rose, creating a mystical scene, and a human figure appeared within it.
Princess Teu Le Vante and Poe Le Jak leaned forward from their thrones, seemingly pleased with the mystical atmosphere.
The figure in the mist slowly walked toward the thrones.
And… soon its identity was revealed.
It was a very experienced-looking chef.
Moreover, a chef holding children’s hamburger sets in both hands.
“!”
“!”
The Demon Lord and Hero cheered simultaneously.
The chef approached the thrones and placed a children’s hamburger set in front of each of them.
A juicy hamburger. Spaghetti, fried rice, and corn salad that children love!
Above all, there were even mini hot dogs and fried shrimp!
It was impossible for this not to be delicious.
Princess Teu Le Vante and Poe Le Jak picked up plastic forks and knives, which were safe as they couldn’t cause injury, as if they couldn’t wait any longer.
With handkerchiefs given by the Chief of Staff and administrator now tied around their necks, they aggressively reached for the hamburger sets.
“Wait!”
But their attempt was thwarted.
The chef extended his hand to stop them.
“It’s not completely finished yet.”
The chef, with a solemn expression, magically created something out of thin air.
And he placed that something on the mountain of fried rice.
“!”
On the Demon Lord’s meal was a flag with a red horned devil on a black background, symbolizing the demon race—
“!”
On the Hero’s meal was a flag with a golden sword embroidered on a white background.
When the crudely printed mini flags attached to toothpicks were placed in the hamburger sets, the two looked at these perfect dishes with completely moved expressions.
“Now… you may eat.”
The chef gave permission, but the Demon Lord and Hero couldn’t stop staring at the food.
They felt almost guilty about eating such beautiful dishes.
The Demon Lord and Hero’s sparkling eyes.
Anyone would smile warmly at the sight.
However, there were two people secretly wiping away tears while watching the Demon Lord and Hero.
“…If only there weren’t restrictions, I could have prepared something better…”
“If only there wasn’t a curse…”
The Chief of Staff clenched his fist so tightly that blood couldn’t flow to his palm.
The administrator bit his lip so hard that it bled.
Why were they so sad despite witnessing this heartwarming scene?
We couldn’t know.
…
“…So this is how you want to play it?”
A hand emerged from the darkness and slammed on the desk with a bang.
The impact was so strong that the faint light hanging from the ceiling swayed back and forth.
Through the flickering light, someone’s figure was vaguely visible.
A face full of greed.
The appearance of a wealthy nouveau riche.
A double chin.
It was Don Castello of Greed.
Don Castello carefully examined the paper on the desk once more, then, for some reason that angered him, tore it to pieces.
“How dare, how dare they speak to me like this?”
Don Castello expressed his anger, breathing heavily as if out of breath.
“How dare they insult Don Castello like this!”
Bang! The desk screamed once more.
Still not satisfied, Don Castello continued to breathe heavily.
“…In that case, I have no choice. I must seek help.”
Don Castello opened a drawer and took out a sheet of paper.
Then he opened an ink bottle and held a fountain pen.
“I hope this proposal will be accepted.”
After writing the letter in elegant cursive until the end, Don Castello waited for the ink to dry before putting the letter in an envelope.
After sealing the letter with red wax, he made a call to summon Heaven’s Delivery.
“An offer they can’t refuse…”
Don Castello’s eyes gleamed brightly in the darkness as he put down the phone.
