Ch.162Last Word 1

“Why on earth did you do that…!”
The Red Lion rushed toward me without hesitation.
And she embraced me so tightly that I thought my waist would break.
“It hurts… Red Lion…”
Perhaps it’s because she’s much taller than me.
She buried her face in my shoulder.
“If you leave too… What… what am I supposed to do…?”
She had never even shown the slightest hint of tears before.
Even when fighting opponents to the death.
Even when killing someone and turning them into a pile of flesh, her face remained expressionless.
Yet she burst into tears because I had disappeared.
“I’m sorry…”
I whispered with my face pressed against her chest.
At that, Red Lion suddenly pulled me away and pressed her face against mine, sobbing.
“Why did you follow him! Do you know what could have happened?”
Those sharp eyes.
Snake-like red pupils.
They had softened like a young girl’s and were now glistening like jewels.
I never knew Red Lion had this side to her.
I feel both happy and sorry.
So many people love me this much.
I always thought I was alone…
It wasn’t just her.
Eventually, Anna, who was standing beside us.
She slowly reached out her hand as if she couldn’t believe I was standing before her.
Then she gently pinched my cheek to feel if I was real.
“Idiot.”
When she firmly uttered that single word, I thought Anna hadn’t changed at all.
But the finger that pinched my cheek.
That finger was trembling subtly.
I looked up at her, following that finger.
And…
I met her cloudy eyes that had grown moist.
“Why do you always make us worry…?”
Anna also embraced me, just like Red Lion had.
Two women embracing my small body.
I savored that warm sensation to the fullest after so long.
When I opened my eyes after closing them,
I suddenly saw Jisoo’s face.
She had been silently watching as the three of us embraced.
I gestured to her.
“Come here too, Jisoo.”
With a tender smile in her eyes.
With that smile, Jisoo approached us.
“Let’s never be separated again.”
And so the four of us remained in a tight embrace for a long time.
It was only much later that we were finally able to let go.
“We need to leave now.”
After coming out of the pond.
I tried to exit the cathedral wearing the coat Red Lion had given me.
“Park Shin-ae will be here soon. We need to leave this island before then.”
Anna hurriedly headed toward the cathedral door.
A massive, ancient stone door.
She flung it open with force.
At that moment.
Perhaps due to the high altitude.
Intense sunlight flooded the cathedral.
Because of this, we couldn’t make out anything outside.
We hurriedly jumped into that light.
And finally, we faced the panoramic view of the Sky Island.
When I witnessed that view, my face froze.
Countless white-haired residents had gathered in front of the cathedral.
Like red-eyed masses filling the area below the cathedral as if a pope had been elected.
They were staring up at us.
“What is this…?”
I know these people.
They’re all individuals who were granted power by the Angelic Hand that remained in my body.
The three rankers looked down at them with bewildered expressions.
With everyone having white hair and red eyes, it was undeniably bizarre.
And the faces looking up at us.
They were expressionless, as if only shells remained without life.
“Did Park Shin-ae gather them?”
Anna instinctively looked around.
The building opposite the cathedral.
Angels landing on the roof of a small church.
Seeing them, I instinctively became frightened.
Among the group was a woman with goddess-like long white hair.
Park Shin-ae was there too.
“Are those them…?”
As expected, Red Lion was the first to react.
She couldn’t help but be furious since the person she served had been deeply wounded.
The girlish, tender face she had shown me earlier was long gone.
She glared at them fiercely, her eyes trembling with rage.
Anna was the same.
She too became expressionless, as if her madness had relapsed at the sight of the doctor who had broken me.
“Miss Siho, you’ve finally awakened?”
Unlike us with our heightened emotions, they were completely at ease.
They just sat on the roof, watching us.
“You fell asleep as soon as you arrived on my land, I was so worried!”
I didn’t answer her welcoming question.
Because I knew.
The deal she made with my ability while I was asleep.
“You woke up to transfer your last ability to me, right?”
In the past, she would have made me stupid through Misha and taken it immediately.
But now it’s different.
“No, I need to take back my ability instead.”
When I stated boldly, Park Shin-ae smiled slyly.
“I’m afraid that won’t be possible.”
Park Shin-ae answers while looking at the six angels she commands.
“The Angelic Hand already follows me more than you now.”
Soon she slowly rose from the roof.
“It judged that joining me to open a new era would be more beneficial to everyone than your foolish bartending.”
And pointing to the legion she commands, she says.
“So, for that great cause…”
“All your damn lovers will have to die.”
Eventually, Shin-ae stretched out both arms demonstratively.
At that, the angels beside her all spread their wings.
“Don’t worry too much. After completely absorbing your ability, what’s left of your shell…”
As they extended their hands, lances appeared all at once.
The angels swung those lances and rushed toward us.
“I’ll keep it as my pet slave.”
Clearly, both numerically and atmospherically.
Park Shin-ae’s side seemed much more advantageous.
But that was my misconception.
The three hunters standing beside me.
They were all beings of a different dimension, powerful enough to shake the entire country.
“I’ll buy time.”
“Just hold on a little. Soon there will be a chance to kill them all.”
Anna and Red Lion exchange words with fierce expressions.
Hearing their conversation, I regretted having been afraid even for a moment.
Yes, these two people beside me were…
Anna and Red Lion.
I blankly watched the two people facing the brilliant light.
Anna stepped forward first.
She charged toward two angels demonstratively.
While throwing, she pulled out two daggers from her pocket.
Compared to the angels’ lances, they were infinitely small and fragile weapons.
But with Anna wielding them, I wasn’t worried at all.
“———!”
After all, no one exists who has beaten Anna in a 2-on-1 fight.
She easily dodged a massive lance by ducking her head.
Then she jumped onto another one’s lance and spun through the air.
She soon landed behind the angel.
And at that moment.
Black blood spurted from the necks of the two angels.
Jisoo and I both gasped at the sight of her taking down two at once.
No matter how strong Anna was.
We didn’t expect her to defeat two of the six who had beaten the Vice Chairman.
Her empty white pupils.
The moment I saw those eyes.
I realized that all the skills she had shown until now were just child’s play.
Was this Anna’s true ability…?
“As expected of the first successful work. The best experimental subject I’ve seen so far.”
Park Shin-ae looks at Anna as if surprised.
But that was the extent of it.
She still had hundreds of island residents empowered by her authority.
Meanwhile, Red Lion grabbed my shoulder.
And she raised her fiercer than ever red eyes sharply.
“We need to move while Anna buys us time.”
“W-where to…?”
“I know an escape route. If we can just get there, everything will be resolved.”
Red Lion put her hands together.
And she summoned her flesh golem that had already arrived.
“———.”
The summoned flesh human broke through the solid cathedral wall.
Thanks to that, an open meadow.
We started to flee toward it.
Anna, who had been facing the angels.
She too follows us with quick steps.
It would have been nice if the four of us could escape like in a movie.
But the Sky Island residents moving according to Park Shin-ae’s orders.
And the winged angels.
They pursued us madly with their red eyes glaring.
They no longer looked as noble as angels.
Their identical strides and running postures were grotesquely uniform.
It felt like watching an army of puppets.
To think this is the price of salvation.
Murderers who thought they had transcended after killing five people.
They ended up becoming empty shells moving according to Park Shin-ae’s orders.
However, I’m not easy enough to be caught by them.
Thanks to Misha’s modifications, I’ve actually become faster at running.
With fox-like agility, I maintained a similar speed to the three rankers.
As we ran relentlessly toward the meadow.
The distorted stone gate gradually became visible in the distance.
Then Red Lion suddenly stopped.
“What’s wrong?”
I asked, breathing heavily.
Red Lion turned her head slightly and said to me.
“This should be far enough.”
Far enough for what?
When I frowned, Red Lion took out her phone instead of answering.
And she leisurely started making a call to somewhere.
I anxiously looked back.
By now, the footsteps of the Sky Island residents had grown close enough to hear.
But Red Lion no longer ran away.
Instead, she waited for the connection with a relaxed expression.
“Um… Red Lion?”
When I asked nervously, she looked down at me intently.
And with a faint smile, she said.
“Why, are you worried because I suddenly did this?”
Of course.
The escape route is right in front of us, how could I not worry when we stop fleeing!
“Don’t worry. We didn’t just come to rescue you.”
Not just to rescue me?
Then what other purpose could there be?
I looked back and forth between Anna and Jisoo.
The two of them smiled like Red Lion.
“We came to end this tiresome fight too.”
As if they had something up their sleeve.
“…?”
Because of this, Park Shin-ae and the angels who had been chasing us stopped their pursuit.
And they hesitated, maintaining distance from us.
As their solid ground began to shake, Shin-ae frowned with displeasure.
Soon that frown turned into amazement.
“What… what is that?”
Something massive had arrived at the edge of the cliff of her sky island hidden in the sky.
Like a person’s hand clinging to the cliff edge.
Soon that hand gained footing and revealed its face.
‘A flesh giant…!’
Clearly, that giant was an ally summoned by Red Lion.
But even so, my heart pounded with fear.
Red Lion’s facial nerves stood out as if she had staked everything on this fight.
She placed her hand on the ground of the Sky Island, using all her strength to control the giant.
“Amazing…! How can a single ability produce such power!”
A huge shadow fell over Shin-ae and her army as she marveled.
And that shadow…
“!!!”
Slammed down on her and her legion with its palm.
Because of this, they completely disappeared.
Like insects crushed by a true god.
