    Ch.162Chapter 162. Parent Observation Day (2)

“Hey guys… We need to submit our activity log.”

    “Hmm. So?”

“It means we need to actually do club activities.”

    “Hmm. I see. So?”

“So what I’m saying is you guys can’t just play around like this…”

Cuss continued munching on her snacks with a blank stare.

Her expression suggested she understood the words but couldn’t quite accept their meaning.

“Why not? Isn’t a club meant for having fun?”

    “No… That’s not it…”

Only then did Jake realize he had made a critical mistake.

While Jake had dreamed of a club with a comfortable atmosphere and friendly interactions, that was predicated on diligently carrying out activities.

But one of the two people gathered here lacked even a basic understanding of why club activities were necessary.

“Just fake the log. What’s with all this diligence from a corrupt club where one member embezzles the activity funds?”

    “Yujin, you…”

The other member understood perfectly well but remained uncooperative nonetheless.

Jake had only been able to drag him along when he had leverage, but since Yujin had dirt on him too, they’d been in a complete cold war.

Would rumors spread about him being a mama’s boy, or about reading perverted comics…

They continued in this nerve-wracking tension, each holding the other’s self-destruct switch.

“You already read the book we agreed on. How hard is it to write one book report?”

“It was so boring I didn’t feel like summarizing it. For someone of my level, at least Nietzsche’s ‘Thus Spoke Zarathustra’ or ‘On the Genealogy of Morality’ would be needed for productive discussion…”

“Ah. Yes. You go ahead and read that by yourself.”

Jake immediately turned away from Yujin’s boastful speech.

As if he’d actually understand those books properly—he’d just pretend to know everything.

After spending time with Yujin recently, Jake felt he understood what kind of person he was.

“Cuss… Could you please read a book? We are a reading club, after all.”

    “Eww? No way.”

“If we don’t submit the activity log, the club will be disbanded and we won’t get any funding.”

“Tch… What book do I need to read?”

    “This one.”

    “Ugh. It’s too thick.”

Cuss reluctantly accepted the book and immediately let out a sigh.

    About 200 pages thick.

She thought club activities just meant munching on snacks without thinking—she had no idea it would be this troublesome.

Cuss rested her chin on one hand and quickly flipped through the pages.

“Since we have time, read it within three days and…”

    “I finished it.”

She closed the book before even 5 seconds had passed.

    “What? Stop joking around.”

“It’s true. I memorized every word’s position too.”

“Come on… Then what’s the fourth word in the sixth line on page 120?”

    “While.”

    “…?!”

Jake, who had opened the book thinking it was quite a funny joke, widened his eyes.

The fourth word in the sixth line on page 120 was indeed “While.”

When he showed the page, Yujin’s expression became similar to Jake’s.

Both were so shocked they couldn’t close their gaping mouths.

“So, you remember the entire content too?”

    “Of course.”

“Wow… Is this some kind of memory ability?”

    “Hmph.”

Though she wasn’t sure what was happening, Cuss puffed up with pride at what seemed like praise.

It seemed these guys were finally recognizing the true greatness of the universe’s overlord.

“Since you’ve read the book, could you write a book report too?”

    “Book report?”

“Yes. Just fill out this form. Submit it by tomorrow.”

Cuss tilted her head as she looked at the paper handed to her.

It didn’t seem too difficult to fill out the form.

    “Alright. No problem.”

“Thank you, Cuss! I’m incredibly grateful…!”

    Plot summary: Nothing special.

Impressions: It was boring. I never want to read it again. Honestly, I wanted to quit halfway through but forced myself to finish.

This should be enough to fill out the form and submit tomorrow.

Cuss sighed, feeling like she’d overcome a hurdle.

She had no idea club activities required so much mental effort.

“So you’re not going to finish your book report? Then I’ll just write something for yours too…”

“Wait. I want to write it.”

    “What?”

“I suddenly feel like writing it. Give me a form too.”

    “…”

“I said give it to me.”

Jake stared at Yujin suspiciously before slowly handing over the paper.

Yujin snatched it, finally put down the book he’d been reading, and began writing his report.

He wasn’t writing it as a joke—he was properly writing a book report on the assigned book.

    ‘Look at him…’

That Yujin, when you watched him closely, would always say he didn’t want to do something at first, but then follow along once Cuss did it.

Jake had seen this behavior pattern before.

As he stared at Yujin, Jake reached a conclusion.

‘That guy sees Cuss as his rival!’

    It was clearly competitive spirit.

Just like how Tom would try to beat Jake by copying whatever he did.

Finally understanding Yujin’s strange behavior, Jake nodded with satisfaction.

Meanwhile, Yujin, noticing Jake’s gaze, frowned with vague discomfort.

While Cuss went back to munching on snacks and rolling around, and Yujin was writing his book report in neat handwriting, Jake was wandering around the club room when he suddenly scrutinized Yujin and furrowed his brow.

Now that he looked, Yujin had quite a large build.

Yet despite his natural physique, he never went outside during breaks to play basketball or soccer.

Now Jake realized there was one more thing he was definitely better at than Yujin.

“Hey, you’re actually pretty tall, aren’t you?”

“Of course. My mo… mother is extremely tall.”

“I see. But you know what? Despite that frame, you don’t exercise at all, so you look completely weak.”

    “What did you say?”

Yujin put down his pen, irritated by the aggressive tone.

    It was truly childish provocation.

Trying to put someone down just to look good in front of Cuss.

Yujin was about to ignore it, thinking there was no need to stoop to the same level, when—

“Ha. Not even worth responding to.”

    “Is Yujin weak?”

“No, I’m not! Hey! Jake! I’m stronger than you!”

At Cuss’s single comment, Yujin exploded and jumped to his feet.

But standing up, he noticed Jake had broad shoulders and some visible muscle tone through his clothes.

Still, Yujin was no smaller in overall build.

“Want to compete? See who’s stronger?”

    “Sure. Let’s do it.”

“How about push-ups? Can you do 10?”

    “10? I can do 100.”

    “Ha! Such a bluff.”

“Bluff? Then want to compete with added weight?”

    “Weight? How…”

Both Yujin and Jake turned their heads toward Cuss simultaneously.

At that moment, they both had the same thought and blushed.

Cuss would add weight by sitting on top.

Meaning Cuss would sit on their backs.

Which meant Cuss’s bottom would touch their backs.

‘Will it just be her bottom?!’

    Jake nearly had a nosebleed.

With that enormous size, it would surely spill over the edges of any chair.

Perhaps he could feel that heaviness through his back.

    Jake felt an inexplicable excitement.

‘Sitting on Yujin Daemon’s back? Damn. I should be feeling humiliated but…’

Meanwhile, Yujin also turned bright red and covered his mouth.

I, Yujin Daemon, am always neck-and-neck for top student and looked up to by other students.

The students see me as such an overwhelming presence that they can’t easily approach me.

For someone like me to be sat on by someone else’s bottom.

Such an experience should be humiliating and irritating, yet somehow his heart was racing.

“Well. Can’t be helped. We can’t just sit around counting to 100 each.”

    “Right. Can’t be helped.”

Yujin and Jake briefly made eye contact before shaking hands with stern expressions.

They had agreed to a temporary truce.

“Come on, Cuss! Sit on me!”

    “No! Me first!”

    “Huh…?”

In an instant, Jake and Yujin were lying face down with their backs straight.

Cuss’s expression twisted as she looked down at them.

She had no idea what these guys were talking about.

‘They want me to use them as chairs?’

Were they competing to see whose back provided a better sitting experience?

Cuss guessed as much and slowly approached them.

But Jake’s expression was a bit scary.

“Come on, Cuss! I’m ready! I’ve mentally prepared myself! Feel free to sit comfortably!”

“The current Jake is somewhat burdensome. I’ll sit here first.”

    “How could you…!”

Cuss bluntly passed by Jake and climbed onto Yujin’s back.

Of course, she didn’t forget to lift her tail so it wouldn’t touch him.

    The moment Cuss sat down…

    “Hyaaang?!”

    “…?”

A strange sound came from the chair.

It was a high-pitched voice that couldn’t possibly come from a male vocal cord.

Cuss and Jake’s gazes converged on one spot.

Yujin’s face, with his lips tightly sealed, was already burning red.

“Hey. Looks like you can’t even do one. You can give up now if you want. Cuss, you should probably get ready to move over.”

    “Ugh… Don’t be ridiculous. I’m starting now.”

Just as Yujin extended his arms to begin the push-up—

    BANG!

Cuss turned her head at the sound of the door swinging open.

    Surprisingly, Jinsoo was standing there.

    “Huh? Why is Jinsoo here?”

But Jinsoo just stared blankly at the three of them before rubbing his eyes.

Soon, Jinsoo smiled and grabbed the doorknob again.

    “Should I close the door?”

    “Please do.”

    “M-Mom! This is a misunderstanding…”

    Thud.

The door closed, and silence fell.

Yujin and Jake remained frozen in their prone positions.

They were overwhelmed by the feeling that they were completely screwed.
