Ch.161Chapter 6. Kill the Dueoksini (5)

    BOOM!

A golden circle formed in the air, and green magical energy erupted from within, engulfing the gymnasium.

    [Lee Seon-ah!]

    “…Platinum Sun!”

    “I’m here too.”

Yoon Yi-seon felt relieved when Ymir and Taowu teleported into the gymnasium from outside.

    “The, Lord Goblin!”

But her relief was only for herself, as the Goblin who had been protecting her suddenly disappeared.

“He pointed his Goblin club at Dueoksini, and then suddenly vanished!”

The demon, Dueoksini, was gone too.

Yoon Yi-seon was dumbfounded by the impossible situation unfolding before her eyes.

“Hmm… Can you not see this?”

“You won’t be able to. Not in your current state, Yoon Yi-seon.”

    “What…?”

Yoon Yi-seon’s heart sank at their words.

It seemed like the two could see something she couldn’t, and they pointed around the gymnasium with complicated expressions.

“How should I explain this? An inverted world? Or a world inside a mirror? Or perhaps another reality created within reality by this ability?”

    “A fantasy digital world?”

“Probably not digital. If anything, it would be a space created by magical energy.”

Taowu approached Yoon Yi-seon and lightly moved his hand.

    Crack!

At the sound of something breaking, Yoon Yi-seon turned her head to see a severed arm falling limply to the floor.

    “Eek…!”

“The inside of this gymnasium is now crawling with demons. Each of those chunks of flesh is a demon, and that’s where they’re being born.”

    “Can those demons be purified…?”

“Impossible. They aren’t human—they’re pure demons born from evil.”

    “…!”

Both Ymir and Yoon Yi-seon were startled as they scanned the wall of flesh chunks.

Somewhere, red blood was blooming like flowers or rocky mountains, and human-sized lumps began to sprout on the flower petals.

    Thump, thump.

Bubbles burst from the lumps that pulsed like heartbeats, and dark red humanoid figures fell from the torn skin and rose to their feet.

“You’ve probably never encountered these before. These are pure demons created in Pandemonium. Essentially, they’re Dueoksini’s offspring.”

    “Ugh.”

“Dueoksini spread these demons she was carrying inside her body clearly to ambush the Goblin from the side during their fight. If things went wrong, she would have attacked you, Yoon Yi-seon.”

    “…But now.”

“Dueoksini didn’t know. The Goblin’s power.”

    One space.

    Two worlds.

Though Yoon Yi-seon couldn’t see it, she could sense it from Ymir and Taowu’s gazes and movements.

That inside the gymnasium, in another gymnasium, the Goblin and Dueoksini were fighting.

“Originally, this is a technique known only to executive-level members within the Syndicate. The fact that the Goblin used it while revealing it to you means he somewhat ‘trusts’ you.”

    Crack!

Taowu extended his leg sideways and swung it like a blade.

A flash of green magical energy instantly swept through Dueoksini’s offspring, and the baby demons were split in half and collapsed to the floor.

“Platinum Sun. These demons were never human, and just because they’re newly born doesn’t make them babies. What do you think they feed on?”

    “…Humans.”

Ymir stretched both hands to the sides, creating golden blades.

“They’re entities that devour humans, right?”

    “Exactly.”

Rather than producing the red binding rope to subdue enemies in line with his gold Buddhist priest concept, he drew out twin golden swords aimed forward to ‘cut down and kill’ enemies.

“They don’t discriminate between ability users and ordinary people. So don’t hesitate to kill them from now on. What do you think would happen if the Goblin captures Dueoksini and comes out, but Dueoksini’s offspring are still outside?”

    “…Revival?”

“Well, we’ll have to see when the time comes. But.”

    Taowu swung his staff horizontally.

A demon that had leaped high to pounce from behind was split in two and crashed to the floor.

“Shouldn’t we fight well now to prevent that from happening?”

    “Then.”

Ymir’s pupils began to glow golden.

“It doesn’t matter if we kill them before the Goblin comes out of that ‘other world,’ right?”

    * * *

    BOOM!

I swing the club downward with great force.

As I bring down the club wrapped in green magical energy, Dueoksini, who was just trying to dodge, gets hit in the leg by my club.

    “Argh!”

[Dodging just the club isn’t enough.]

Taowu’s magical energy is now swirling around my club.

Sharp, cutting magical energy that can slice through anything is spiraling around it.

[The range is quite wide, you know.]

I grab the end of the club and twist my body toward Dueoksini, swinging it widely.

    Whoosh!

My body slides sideways in a spin, pouring all the centrifugal force into the club.

    “You, madman!”

Dueoksini retreated, planting one hand and foot firmly on the ground.

His other arm was bleeding profusely, continuously bubbling with dark red foam as it tried to regenerate.

His leg was tattered from the green wind blade, and foam kept oozing out from under the red bandage-like skin.

[Where do you think you’re going.]

I can’t let him regenerate quietly.

I closed my left eye, then opened the cover over the eye part of the goblin mask and opened my eye wide.

    [Sun Eye.]

    Flash.

As my vision momentarily turned golden, golden magical energy shot from my eye like a beam toward Dueoksini.

    Whoosh!

The golden magical energy fired from my eye grazed Dueoksini’s ankle.

    “Argh!!”

Dueoksini tried to leap to the second-floor spectator seats but crashed through the fence and tumbled across the seats.

The landing failed, and below the ankle where the golden laser touched, it began to burn with golden flames.

Like a vampire disintegrating in sunlight, Dueoksini’s fallen body parts immediately bubbled and ‘vanished’ upon contact with the golden magical energy.

    “This, this…!”

[Is this why you’re obsessed with Platinum Sun? Because you think Platinum Sun has the power to kill you?]

    Boom!

I lightly stepped on the floor and jumped, landing on the second-floor spectator seats where he had fallen.

[You probably wanted to be killed by Platinum Sun, Korea’s national hero, or perhaps you wanted to die in a more glamorous place. Too bad. You’ll die in a quiet place where no one knows.]

    “Argh!!”

    Dueoksini’s remaining arm expanded greatly.

Pillar-like protrusions suddenly emerged from the arm that had swollen like a giant’s, and the pillars aimed their tips at me like rifles.

    “No, no…!”

    Ratatatatat!

The pillars sprouting from Dueoksini’s arm scattered blood-colored bullets everywhere.

It was an attack meant to keep me at bay while simultaneously being a desperate attempt to escape this space.

    [Hmph.]

I lightly swung my club around me.

Green magical energy began to swirl around me, and the bullets aimed at me spun with the wind before falling limply behind me.

[This place wasn’t originally meant to be your execution ground, but the target for execution here is ‘a threat to this world.’ The condition has been met.]

    “Wh-what…!”

[Absolute evil condemned by the entire world. The condition to isolate such a being from the world. There are all sorts of restrictions, but anyone can be brought here if there’s ‘justification.’]

I aimed my club at Dueoksini again.

[The world has designated you as evil that should not exist. Everyone living in this world rejects you. You are clearly evil.]

    “Th-that doesn’t matter!!”

Dueoksini charged at me, screaming desperately.

“This country must become an empire! We must return a hundredfold, no, a thousandfold what we received from the great powers before! Don’t you feel the spirit of the countless ancestors who died on this land!”

[That’s rich coming from an alien.]

“You, traitor…! A fool who doesn’t know how to be loyal to his country…!”

    [What nonsense. You’re insane.]

    WHAM!

I swung my club with all my might toward Dueoksini, filled with Taowu’s magical energy.

    “Ugh, nngh…!”

    [Boost.]

He tried to block my attack by raising one arm, but an explosion erupted from the club.

    “Argh!”

The fleshy pillar blocking the club instantly fell away, and Dueoksini took a hit to the shoulder from the club and fell down below the spectator seats.

    Zzzzing.

I opened the Sun Eye again and burned the fragments of Dueoksini that had fallen around.

The magical energy imbued with Ymir’s power, with Platinum Sun’s power, has the property of destroying and breaking down the foundation of demonic magical energy.

“H-how…! How can someone as weak as you…how…!”

[The amount of magical energy isn’t everything. If you lack something, you can always borrow power from others.]

Even if my magical energy is pathetically low.

Even if I don’t have the power to eliminate demons among my abilities.

[Whether you’re an S-class demon or an EX-class alien, that doesn’t matter to me now.]

Magical energy from an S+ class spirit.

The power to purify demons from an EX-class protagonist.

[Unless you can crush me with an absolute difference in magical power, I can always find a way to win.]

That’s the eye and experience I’ve gained from watching countless protagonists defeat villains from beyond the fourth dimension.

[Infinite regeneration, fluid bullets, ultra-high-speed combat. All of it.]

Infinite regeneration? Block it with the power to purify demons.

Fluid bullets? Protect myself by creating blade winds.

Ultra-high-speed combat? I’ve been matching that speed since the first day I met Dueoksini.

[If you’re a demon from outer space.]

I followed Dueoksini down and raised my club high with one hand.

[Then I am a ‘god’ who came from even higher.]

    A god named Reader.

    [Divine punishment.]

    The Reader.

    [You’ve been too arrogant.]

    Does not tolerate sweet potatoes.

[Therefore, you’re out of this world.]

I brought down my club toward Dueoksini’s head.

    [Forever.]

    BOOM.

    Dueoksini’s head was smashed.
