Ch.160Chapter 160: Eastern Decisive Battle (28)

    “Take care of yourself.”

“You’re the one who should be careful, Valt. That place is completely enemy territory.”

But Valt maintains his relaxed smile.

“Didn’t you hear about my movement magic? I’ll be fine. That’s why I’m taking Lisa with me.”

Despite Valt’s words, Arias’s worried expression doesn’t change.

    “Still! Be careful!”

Seeming not to mind Arias’s concern, Valt flashed a bright smile.

“Sure, I’ll make sure to do that. I can’t afford to turn the Valentine family into enemies.”

“I’m so excited! So excited! Right in the middle of enemy territory! Heeheeheehee!”

Being relatively weak, Lisa had always been assigned to the rear during battles.

But Lisa loves adventure. Her heart, now clinging to Valt, began beating faster than ever before.

Standing calmly beside them with an unchanging expression, Liris adds a comment.

“Arias is right. Be careful, Lord Valt. You are not alone.”

Arias becomes flustered at Liris’s bombshell statement.

    “W-what are you saying?!”

But Liris doesn’t seem to understand what’s wrong.

“Huh? What’s wrong? I’m just saying there are many people who care about him?”

    “R-right? That’s what you meant?”

“Yes, isn’t that true for you too, Arias?”

    “Y-yeah, let’s say that’s it.”

Then Luktan, who will be accompanying Arias and Liris today, steps forward, pounding his chest.

“Hahaha, little brother, don’t worry too much when you have your big brother here!”

“Big brother just needs to act well. If you try something reckless like blocking an Orc King’s attack again, I won’t let you off easy.”

    Flinch-

Valt’s expression was truly frightening, causing even the great warrior Luktan to feel momentarily intimidated by Valt’s pressure.

    Soon after, he laughs inwardly.

‘Haha, this monster of a little brother!? Making me shrink back with just his aura? Hahaha! How interesting!’

“Hahahahaha! You really don’t hold back with your big brother, do you! I may not be the strongest warrior, but I am the son of the great Kwan!! Don’t worry!”

Only then does Valt smile and offer his fist to Luktan.

    “I trust you.”

    Bang!

With a sound like colliding rocks, the Gerungtu brothers’ greeting ends.

“Well then, shall we go, Lisa!?”

“Ehehehe! Yes! Let’s go, Valt! I’m so excited right now!”

No matter how weak Lisa might be considered, her skill at riding on Valt was unmatched.

Honestly, Liris and Arias, worried about Lisa, had prepared something like a carrier for her, but Lisa adamantly refused, saying it wasn’t necessary.

She argued that it would be more dangerous if she couldn’t move freely on Valt’s body.

In fact, even when Valt moved vigorously, Lisa demonstrated the remarkable ability to stay firmly attached to Valt’s body without falling off.

“She really has the strangest talents…”

Arias muttered, briefly recalling Lisa from that time, and then Valt raised both fists high into the air.

“Hold tight, Lisa. I’m going to use movement magic.”

    “Okay!”

As Valt prepares his stance, everyone begins to move away from him.

    “Here I go! Earth Tunnel!”

With Valt’s magical incantation, both fists plunge into the ground.

    Boooom!!

After a brief vibration, the ground sinks and a huge hole begins to form.

And Valt digs down into the ground with agility!

Valt’s movement magic was a tunneling spell created with earth spirits.

While it appeared to be purely physical, the reality was completely different.

The combination of earth spirits that could freely manipulate the ground and Valt’s physical magic resulted in something that could rightfully be called movement magic rather than mere tunneling, boasting tremendous speed.

    Dududududu-

Valt disappeared, digging down into the earth, and people were left staring in disbelief.

“Is that even possible? I can’t believe that’s actually doable.”

    Liris responds to Arias’s grumbling.

“That just shows how amazing Lord Valt is. He’s probably the first to use such movement magic.”

Arias nods in agreement with Liris’s comment.

“Then… he might be the first and the last?”

Luktan was also looking at where Valt had gone with an admiring face.

“Impressive! That’s my brother! His magic is extraordinary! How did such a guy ever get born into the Gerungtu family!”

    ***

Originally a vast and fertile plain.

But today, this plain has become a scene from hell.

“Fire!! Mage units!! Full power toward the Orc forces ahead!!”

    Whoosh!

    Boom!

    Screech!

“Fire! Fire! Don’t spare the arrows! Our arrows are superior to theirs! Fire!”

    Swish-swish-swish-swish-

A battlefield raining with magic and arrows.

In just a few seconds, thousands, tens of thousands of spells and hundreds of thousands of arrows fill the sky, creating shadows.

    “Arrrgh!!”

    “Gweeeeek!!”

The screams of humans and orcs spread one after another, turning the once fertile land into a bloodbath of chaos.

“Push forward!! They are nothing!! Just orcs!! Victory is within our grasp!!”

“Don’t lose to the other kingdoms!! Prove the greatness of the Repellum Kingdom here!!”

The commanders’ shouts spread widely through magic, and the soldiers’ excitement begins to peak.

    “Waaaaaaah!!”

“Kill them!! Die, you orc bastards!!”

    “Tweek! Gwek! Tweek!!”

Finally, on the third day of the war with the orcs, a full-scale battle of total forces began.

So far, the situation seems slightly favorable for humans.

Thanks to various magic, magical tools, and weapons superior to those of orcs, humans began to overwhelm the orcs despite being significantly fewer in number.

“Hahahahaha!! They’re just worthless orcs, kill them! Make them pay for invading our land!!”

The momentum of the royal army was truly sky-high, and the troops began to continue their advance, sweeping away the orcs.

It seemed like it would easily end in human victory.

    However.

    “GROOOOOOOOAAAR!!!!!”

A massive figure whose very roar exudes aura.

With the appearance of the Orc Lord, the battle began to take on a completely different aspect.

    “It’s an Orc Lord!!”

“They’re nothing! Experts and Masters, lead the charge against the Orc Lord…!!”

    Thwack!

A javelin passing in an instant.

Though not as powerful as the Orc King’s, the Orc Lord’s javelin was powerful enough to kill an enemy commander who hadn’t reached Master level with a single strike.

“Damn it!!! Everyone advance!! Advance!! Mages!! Mages, deploy defensive magic!!”

The sudden appearance of Orc Lords and Orc Generals. Their might could only be described as a natural disaster.

With just the appearance of Orc Lords and Orc Generals, the surrounding orcs began to grow stronger as if receiving buffs, completely changing the atmosphere of the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Valt was watching this entire situation from underground.

Interestingly, the method came from Lisa.

    The artifact Lepiron’s Eye.

An object that flies over the battlefield and shows the situation to its user.

It was one of the artifacts owned by the Valentine family, but since no one could use it, it had been sleeping in storage.

But Lisa was able to use it.

The method of use was, in a way, nothing special, but in another way, it was a method that absolutely no one else could use.

    That was the artifact’s choice.

Just as artifacts have different characteristics, their usage methods vary widely, and Lepiron’s Eye that Lisa possessed was one of the items with a very picky usage method in that the artifact itself chooses its user.

Lisa’s right eye glows blue, showing Valt the situation on the battlefield.

“This is no joke. An Orc Lord has appeared.”

    “Is that so? Where?”

Originally, Valt had planned to use Earth Tunnel to randomly attack orc positions.

That alone would certainly have been a great help to the human formation.

But thanks to Lisa’s artifact, Valt and Lisa were now capable of more precise tactical strikes.

Who could block an attack suddenly appearing from somewhere unknown underground?

“This way! 2km in this direction!”

As Lisa points in the direction, Valt’s muscles, hidden quietly underground, begin to twitch.

“I’m going to move a bit faster, hold tight, Lisa.”

    “Great! Let’s go!!!”

Valt’s hands begin to cut through the earth and advance.

    Crackcrackcrackcrack!!

“But what are you going to attack with?!”

Lisa, sticking close to Valt without falling off, shouts into his ear.

She had to speak loudly to be heard over the sound of digging.

“What are you asking? What am I doing right now?”

    “Huh? Digging through the earth?”

“If I dig the ground and make enemies fall in, doesn’t that make for an excellent attack?”

Lisa asks Valt back with an incredulous expression.

    “Wasn’t this movement magic?”

“Combat requires flexible thinking. There’s no rule saying movement magic can’t be used for attacks.”

    But Lisa doesn’t back down.

“Isn’t magic about imagery? If it’s attack magic, shouldn’t the imagery and incantation be different?”

Thinking Lisa has a point, Valt immediately creates and names an attack version of Earth Tunnel on the spot.

“You’re right. Then I should call it a new spell.”

    “Heehee, what’s the magic name?”

    “Sinkhole.”

“Umm… I don’t know why, but that magic name sounds a bit scary.”

Valt and Lisa charge through the underground without any tension.

Years later, this action of Valt’s would lead to the misunderstanding that hundreds of Great Worms had once lived in the underground of the Eastern Plains.
