Ch.160[Chapter 160] Channel.02

    “Master… two of them?”

Alice was currently in a state of extreme confusion.

For some reason, her mind recognized both Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica as her masters.

Of course, this wasn’t because Alice couldn’t tell Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica apart.

No matter how similar their aura and equipment might be, she wasn’t so young that she couldn’t distinguish between a man and a woman.

    “Why…”

    “Double memories…?”

    Alice muttered.

As if her left and right brain were having separate conversations, her floating memories began to merge into one.

Alice’s confused expression became a jumble, then settled into a calm state.

    “I see.”

Alice nodded as if she had realized something.

“Both Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica were my masters.”

Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica looked at each other at Alice’s words.

They couldn’t understand what Alice was talking about at all.

As if sensing their confusion, Alice continued her explanation.

“So, this me and that me became disciples of both masters, and then we became one!”

Alice thought she was explaining coherently, but the words that came out of her mouth were like incomprehensible code.

However, Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica had become somewhat accustomed to Alice’s way of speaking.

    “Could it be?”

    “You too?”

Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica looked at each other with expressions of realization.

After thinking for a moment, they finally reached the closest approximation to the answer.

Sir Dominic had taken Alice as his disciple.

And in a parallel world, Sir Dominica had taken Alice as her disciple.

And when Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica came to exist in the same timeline, and were bound together by the tag match system, Alice also became a single entity.

The parallel world’s Alice probably wasn’t much different from this world’s Alice.

That’s why she didn’t feel any dissonance when acting normally, but only felt it after seeing Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica, triggering the fusion of memories.

    “By the way-“

    Alice asked Sir Dominic.

“Why did you come here, Master?”

    “Here?”

    Sir Dominic asked back, puzzled.

    “Where is ‘here’?”

    “This is Channel 2.”

    Alice answered.

    “Channel, huh.”

Sir Dominic had solved one question, but another popped up.

What on earth was a channel?

    “What’s a channel?”

    “Master?”

Unable to contain her curiosity, Sir Dominica asked Alice.

Alice tilted her head at Sir Dominica’s question and answered.

“A channel is just a channel. Dad said they were newly created.”

    “Newly created…”

Sir Dominic took out his card and pressed the notice section at Alice’s words.

Using the search function to look up the word “channel,” the following text appeared:

[…We have often seen too many people gathering in specific areas. Yes, we’re talking about the card pack exchange centers.]

[So we have introduced the channel system for your comfortable living.]

[If too many people gather in certain areas, the system will separate channels and distribute people across them.]

…There were more lengthy sentences that followed, but Sir Dominic closed the notice, feeling a headache from the sudden barrage of technical terms.

Sir Dominic shook his head to clear his mind and tried to understand the current situation.

So, the Demon Lord and Hero escaped with us to a new channel.

    Sir Dominic glanced around.

However, only Sir Dominic, Sir Dominica, Alice… and Little Sir Dominic and Little Sir Dominica were present.

The Demon Lord and Hero were nowhere to be seen.

They must have left the dolls behind in their hurry to escape.

“Oh, I see these dolls again.”

Alice smiled brightly as she looked at Little Sir Dominic and Little Sir Dominica.

She hugged both dolls at once and rubbed her cheeks against them.

Alice seemed to like these dolls too.

    “By the way-“

    Sir Dominic said to Alice.

    “Why are you here?”

    “Ah.”

Alice exclaimed as if remembering something.

“I was running errands. Channel 2 has slightly cheaper prices…”

    Alice continued her explanation.

Currently, the channel system had only been open for a short time, so people weren’t using the channels much.

And each channel had its own independent commercial activities.

Naturally, with fewer buyers, sellers lowered their prices to maximize sales.

Of course, the source of this information was also Alice’s father.

“If I buy here, I can get one more ice cream… oh.”

Alice stopped moving when she discovered the sticky, melted ice cream at her feet.

The ice cream she had just bought with the money she saved from her errands.

The ice cream that had become a mess before she could properly taste it.

Alice’s eyes welled up with tears as she looked at the ruined ice cream.

For young Alice, this ice cream was probably more precious than regression or anything else.

    “That… ice cream…”

    “I’m sorry.”

Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica were flustered seeing Alice on the verge of tears.

The fact remained that Alice had dropped her ice cream because she was startled by their sudden appearance.

Of course, strictly speaking, this was the fault of the Demon Lord and Hero who had forcibly involved them, but Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica, unaware of this fact, had to do everything they could to console Alice.

While Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica were comforting the sniffling Alice.

Not far from where they were, in an alley.

Two children, a boy and a girl, were peeking out from that alley.

    “We’re in trouble.”

The girl with purple hair said, munching on a moonlight cookie.

    “Indeed.”

The blond boy with a crown said, popping a black candy into his mouth.

Who were these people, and why were they secretly watching Sir Dominic’s group?

Of course, people with good observation skills would know who they were.

“Po Le Zak. What should we do now?”

“I don’t know. We managed to escape, but…”

    That’s right.

They were none other than Demon Lord Teu Le Vante and Hero Po Le Zak.

The two had grown from 2-head-tall to about 4-head-tall.

But their distinctive features remained the same.

Teu Le Vante had purple hair so long it almost touched the ground and horns as tall as her height, while Po Le Zak had sparkling blond hair, a golden crown, and wore a red cape with fur.

“…Should we go back and apologize to the administrator?”

    Po Le Zak spoke weakly.

    “No way.”

    Teu Le Vante said firmly.

“We can’t go back until we’ve eaten all of this.”

Teu Le Vante opened a dimensional door and looked inside.

Inside were a dozen or so cola-flavored candies and about the same number of moonlight cookies.

The Hero sighed as he looked at the dimensional door, then checked under his cape.

There were just as many candies and snacks as the Demon Lord had.

    “I want to save them.”

“We can’t help it. This smuggling operation failed.”

Teu Le Vante crunched on another candy.

Po Le Zak sighed again and put a moonlight cookie in his mouth.

The sweet taste spread across his tongue, making him feel a little happy.

    “By the way-“

Po Le Zak, looking regretfully at the vanished cookie, said to Teu Le Vante.

“Shouldn’t we at least apologize to Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica?”

    “Why?”

Demon Lord Teu Le Vante tilted her head as if she really didn’t understand.

“Well… they’re confused because of us.”

“It’s their fault for being there.”

Teu Le Vante grumbled, refuting Po Le Zak’s words.

Her cheeks puffed up as if she was annoyed.

But Po Le Zak was Teu Le Vante’s best friend.

No matter how much she tried to make herself look bad, she couldn’t hide her true feelings.

    “You feel sorry, don’t you?”

    The Demon Lord flinched.

The Hero had hit the mark.

You really can’t tell a lie, can you? The Hero smiled and said to the Demon Lord.

“You feel too sorry to face them, but too embarrassed to apologize. Yet not apologizing makes you feel too guilty.”

    Prick. Prick. Prick.

Demon Lord Teu Le Vante flinched at each word the Hero said.

    “So let’s go apologize.”

The Hero extended his hand to the Demon Lord.

“They say demon lords are bad, but you don’t have to be bad when you’re not being a demon lord.”

Teu Le Vante looked at the Hero.

Sunlight had begun to enter the alley, creating a mystical atmosphere as it positioned itself behind the Hero’s head.

Teu Le Vante, who had been staring blankly at Po Le Zak, took the Hero’s hand as if she had made up her mind.

“Alright. Let’s go apologize to Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica.”

    “Good.”

The Demon Lord and Hero were about to leave the alley, holding hands.

However, their efforts were thwarted by the intervention of two people.

“You kidnapper! Where have you hidden the Demon Lord?”

“You lowly creature! Where is the Duke?”

    Familiar voices.

As soon as they heard those voices, the Demon Lord and Hero retreated back into the alley and instinctively hid against the wall.

The Chief of Staff and the administrator had followed them.
