Ch.15[Chapter 15] Oh My, What a Villain!
by fnovelpia
Sir Dominic stared at Super Deluxe for a long time.
“Hmm hmm. Super Deluxe, is it? I wonder who this person is that’s being confused with me. Hmm hmm.”
Super Deluxe, who like others had a three-head-height body with a large head, was sweating profusely while pretending not to notice.
Perhaps because his head was proportionally large, beads of sweat could be clearly seen flowing behind his mask.
With such an effort to deceive, could there be some story behind this?
Sir Dominic, who hadn’t yet fully adapted to Gachaland, had such naive thoughts.
In the end, Sir Dominic decided to pretend not to recognize Super Deluxe.
“Excuse me. I must have been mistaken.”
Sir Dominic said this and tried to leave.
The clerk was waiting as he hadn’t yet paid for the 2+1 items.
It would be rude to keep them waiting too long.
“Wait, wait.”
Surprisingly, it was Super Deluxe who became flustered.
“You’re supposed to press me further, at this point!”
In truth, Super Deluxe was an attention seeker.
An attention seeker who loved drawing people’s attention.
Originally, Super Deluxe didn’t need to wear his costume during meal and break times during events, but hoping someone might recognize him, he deliberately maintained his flashy outfit while eating.
If he didn’t want that much attention, he probably wouldn’t have become a villain in the first place.
“Oh my goodness. Look at this innocent person. Don’t you understand why I’m acting suspiciously, sweating profusely while claiming I’m not who you think? Don’t you get why I’m behaving so obviously suspicious?”
Super Deluxe unnecessarily lashed out at Sir Dominic.
Now it was Sir Dominic who was flustered.
He had never encountered this type of person before.
“I, I didn’t know. I apologize.”
Sir Dominic found himself apologizing without thinking.
“Never mind. Do you have an SNS account? I’ll give you a chance to take a photo with the amazing Super Deluxe and post it on SNS. Just add the hashtags ‘#SuperDeluxe #SuperCool’ and there’ll be an extra reward!”
“What is that?”
Sir Dominic couldn’t understand what Super Deluxe was saying.
For Sir Dominic, who didn’t yet fully understand Gachaland’s culture, those words sounded like incomprehensible spells cast by wizards.
“I don’t know what that is, but I don’t have it.”
“Good heavens, you don’t have one?”
Super Deluxe’s eyes widened behind his mask as if he’d seen a national monument.
“That’s… that’s… impossible. You must have one.”
Super Deluxe was deeply shocked.
He was so shocked that his eyes welled up with tears.
“By the way, if you’re Super Deluxe, doesn’t that mean the event story was successful?”
“That can’t be. Someone without SNS can’t exist. That’s, that’s… like a saint without breasts.”
Sir Dominic remembered the event and asked Super Deluxe about the reward, but Super Deluxe was still unable to recover from his shock.
It seemed he would need some time to recover from the shock.
Sir Dominic looked at Super Deluxe for a moment, then walked over to the refrigerator and took out two bottles of soda before approaching the counter.
“Yes, that’s three items total, so 3000 Credit. Do you need a bag?”
“No need. By the way, I see Super Deluxe over there. Did you know about this?”
Sir Dominic stuffed the sodas into his inventory and asked the employee behind the counter.
“Of course. He’s a regular. The Super Deluxe event is like an annual event. During the event period, he always has lunch here—one ramen, one triangle kimbap, and a zero cola.”
The employee kindly answered Sir Dominic’s question.
“Besides, he’s the model for DX 25 advertisements, so it would be stranger not to know him.”
The clerk gave a thumbs up, pointing to a poster on the glass wall.
When Sir Dominic turned to look at the poster, he saw Super Deluxe holding a cup of ramen in one hand with his thumb up, alongside the phrase “The taste that stole Super Deluxe’s heart, exclusively sold DX 25!”
“I see. Thank you for answering.”
“Don’t mention it.”
Sir Dominic approached Super Deluxe again.
Super Deluxe was still unable to recover from the shock.
“You don’t know me? The famous me? Me with over a million SNS followers?”
Super Deluxe’s attention-seeking disorder was beyond imagination.
Despite becoming a superstar whose followers increased by tens of thousands with each of his dozens of events, there was still someone who didn’t know him.
His mind refused to understand, and his heart was bursting with indignation at the impossibility of it all.
Snap.
Something broke inside Super Deluxe.
It was the sound of losing his sanity.
“Yes… that’s right… that’s what it was…”
Super Deluxe lowered his head and began muttering unpleasantly.
“I should have approached more familiarly. I should upload a short video to GachaTube even now—”
“No, no. This person doesn’t know me just because he’s a Newbie without SNS—”
“That’s a good idea. This Super Deluxe’s plan to gain 30,000 more followers—”
Sir Dominic was close enough to Super Deluxe to hear parts of his muttering, but his voice was so low and filled with incomprehensible words that it looked no different from a black magician performing a demon summoning ritual.
Sir Dominic, increasingly concerned about his condition, was considering trying to stop Super Deluxe.
That’s when it happened.
Super Deluxe raised his head with surprising speed and clenched both hands, making some kind of resolution.
“Right! Since you said you don’t know me, I just need to teach you about me! Genius! Smart!”
Super Deluxe’s eyes met Sir Dominic’s.
Sir Dominic couldn’t help but flinch.
His eyes showed not a speck of human intelligence, captured instead by the kind of madness typically seen in demons or orcs.
“From now on, you’re coming with me. Until you know all about me. Until you become my passionate fan and buy my merchandise!”
Super Deluxe wasn’t a villain for nothing.
Sir Dominic suddenly couldn’t breathe.
Some strong force had grabbed his waist and wouldn’t let go.
Tucked under Super Deluxe’s side like a loan shark’s bag, Sir Dominic struggled, but as a mere 1-star who wasn’t yet familiar with Gachaland, he had no way to break free from Super Deluxe’s arm.
Did you notice Super Deluxe’s wickedness?
He fled from the convenience store, leaving his overcooked ramen on the dining counter.
A villain so evil that even his subconscious torments convenience store employees!
Indeed, he was a villain.
Thump thump.
Super Deluxe, with Sir Dominic tucked under his arm, was flying somewhere, kicking off rooftops with all his might.
Sir Dominic struggled for a while but soon realized he couldn’t defeat Super Deluxe and decided to stay still until Super Deluxe released him.
Just as there are protocols for being held hostage and exchanged for ransom, Sir Dominic maintained his dignity.
“We’re almost there, potential fan. Are you ready to learn about me?”
Super Deluxe stopped with a cute “pop” sound on one of the rooftop rooms.
Next to the rooftop room on the tall building, something like onions was spinning around, making an annoying squeaking sound.
“Why did you kidnap me?”
“This is a fan meeting. Kidnap! You make me sound like a villain!”
Super Deluxe, suffering cognitive dissonance from the great shock, exploded in anger at Sir Dominic’s words.
“Potential fans, even anti-fans, are all my fans! I know it! They all crave my attention!”
Unfortunately, his mind is disturbed, thought Sir Dominic, looking pitifully at Super Deluxe who had thrown away all formality and courtesy.
“Now, this is my secret base. Where I make amazing plans to steal the world.”
Super Deluxe made a “ta-da!” sound effect with his mouth in front of the old rooftop room.
“Know that this is the first time I’m revealing my secret base after dozens of events, potential fan!”
I think I heard him say he’s going to be evicted next month for not paying rent.
Creak creak.
After taking a key from under a flowerpot to open the door, Super Deluxe approached Sir Dominic again with popping sounds.
Super Deluxe grinned wickedly, grabbed Sir Dominic by the back of his neck, and dragged him in, throwing him inside the door.
Roll roll. If it were his original body, there would have been sound effects like “crash” or “bang,” but this three-head-height body was surprisingly soft, resulting only in a “roll roll” sound effect.
“Now you can’t leave here until you become a fan who’s desperate to know my every move.”
Wickedly, this cruel villain stood on a cardboard box and locked the door.
Then he neatly folded the cardboard box and tucked it into the gap between the shoe rack next to the door.
With his original body, Sir Dominic could have opened the door in three seconds, but with this small, short three-head-height body, there was no way to open that door.
Instead of trying to escape, Sir Dominic looked around the room.
The room was filled with darkness, without a single window. The only light came through the gap in the door.
“You should have known about me beforehand! Even if you didn’t know me, you should have known me! Then this wouldn’t have happened!”
Super Deluxe started spouting nonsense like a third-rate villain.
“Now! I’m going to reveal it! My achievements so far, my history, and my merchandise!”
Click! The light turned on.
Super Deluxe was pressing the light switch with a wand that had a soft rubber hand shape at the end.
Then, in the small room, there was a terrifying number of photos, sculptures, and papers.
A terrifying level of self-love.
Indeed, it was a frightfulness befitting a villain’s dignity.
