“!”
“!”
The Demon Lord Teu Le Vante and the Hero began pointing at each other with their soft hands while staring at one another.
They weren’t fighting.
No, perhaps they were fighting.
“Are they… fighting with dolls?”
Sir Dominic looked at the completely tension-free battle with bewilderment.
Teu Le Vante and the Hero were commanding their Little Sir Dominic and Little Sir Dominica to engage in a soft, desperate battle.
Little Sir Dominic with his spongy soft sword and cardboard shield!
Little Sir Dominica with her cork-shooting air gun and cardboard shield!
A small dream match bringing relaxation to the tension-filled Gacharland!
The battle of the century, so soft and fluffy that with their cotton-filled bodies and meticulous finishing, they couldn’t harm each other at all!
The proxy battle between the Demon Lord and Hero’s representatives—or rather, representative dolls—seemed like it would last forever, but soon this small, trivial event match came to an end.
According to the new duel rules, after 10 minutes, a winner would be determined by judgment.
And the winner of this tiny duel was… no one.
It ended in a draw.
“!”
“?”
The Demon Lord and Hero tilted their heads in confusion.
The Demon Lord thought Little Sir Dominic clearly seemed to have the upper hand in health.
The Hero thought Little Sir Dominica must have won with that final attack.
But the Demon Lord and Hero were both mistaken about two things.
First, neither Little Sir Dominic nor Little Sir Dominica had taken any damage whatsoever…
And second, the main participants in this duel were the Demon Lord and Hero themselves, not Little Sir Dominic and Little Sir Dominica.
Teu Le Vante and the Hero both made gloomy expressions almost simultaneously.
But they were both leaders of their respective factions.
They couldn’t remain dejected indefinitely.
Realizing this, they both raised their heads to look at each other.
The gazes of Teu Le Vante and the Hero clashed in midair.
Teu Le Vante stepped toward the Hero with tiny steps.
The Hero approached Teu Le Vante with bouncy steps.
They stood at the center of where the two plush dolls had just fought and glared at each other.
They were so close that if one stumbled, their foreheads would collide.
A dark, ominous dimensional gate opened behind the Demon Lord.
The Hero’s brilliant, light-emitting sponge holy sword was drawn from its scabbard.
Projectiles flew from the Demon Lord’s dimensional gate toward the Hero.
The Hero extended a hand, instantly catching all the flying projectiles, and swung the sword.
A crescent-shaped sword energy flew from the blade.
The Demon Lord, watching the sword energy, moved one step to the side.
The sword energy disappeared into the dark, ominous dimensional gate without even grazing the Demon Lord.
If one only read the narration, it would seem like the Demon Lord and Hero were engaged in a battle for the fate of the world, but in reality, this was just their usual snack exchange.
They were exchanging the essence of the most evil confectionery from the demon realm, cola-flavored candy, and the most sacred confectionery from Duke Jack’s territory, moon-viewing cookies.
The two, who had become close friends during the last parallel world event, had been secretly exchanging messages through SNS behind System’s back.
One might wonder if that was illegal, but just as Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica could communicate through slimes, there were quite a few ways to bypass the rules.
This was possible because Gacharland was not yet a completed world.
Anyway, the two had grown closer by showing off their snacks on SNS and promised to exchange treats the next time they met, and today that promise was kept.
And that promise had to be carried out while deceiving the eyes of the Chief of Staff and the Executive Administrator.
It was only natural that if caught, their treats would be confiscated.
So the plan they came up with after putting their heads together was this awkward play.
A proposal to secretly pass snacks to each other while pretending to fight, mixing them in between attacks.
“Excuse me, Demon Lord? Wasn’t that a cookie just now?”
“Your Highness? What’s that candy in your hand?”
However, the two who had served their masters for a long time were not to be underestimated.
“!”
“!”
Teu Le Vante and the Hero’s already large eyes widened even more in shock.
How did they know? Our plan was perfect!
I don’t know. I swung with all my might just in case!
Teu Le Vante and the Hero looked at each other, communicating with their eyes.
“Demon Lord? Would you mind opening that dimensional gate? I trust you haven’t been piling up garbage in there like last time?”
“Your Highness. Please open your hand. I believe I saw candy there.”
The Chief of Staff and the Executive Administrator slowly approached the Demon Lord and Hero.
Teu Le Vante and the Hero saw the expressions of the Chief of Staff and Executive Administrator—smiling with their mouths but not at all with their eyes—and knew they were in trouble.
We can’t let them take these!
But at this rate, they might confiscate them!
The Demon Lord and Hero’s gazes crossed in midair.
It wasn’t difficult for them to understand each other’s thoughts through their friendship, which had developed beyond mere closeness to the level of soul partners.
Yet they still couldn’t think of a plan to break through this situation.
“…!”
That’s when it happened.
Demon Lord Teu Le Vante spoke to the Hero as if she’d had a good idea.
“…!”
The Hero nodded after hearing Teu Le Vante’s plan, thinking it was a good idea.
The two elderly monsters, now very close to the Demon Lord and Hero, looked at them with smiles spread across their faces.
Though their eyes still weren’t smiling at all.
“Now… Demon Lord. Before I report to the previous Demon Lord, quickly open the dimensional gate—”
“Your Highness. I understand your intentions, but first open your fist and show me its contents—”
The two old men coaxed and persuaded their masters in kind voices, as if soothing children.
That’s when it happened.
A purple electric sphere formed between the Demon Lord’s horns, then suddenly exploded, emitting tremendous light.
Of course, this light was filled with demonic energy, so it was only slightly brighter than usual to the Chief of Staff, but it affected the Executive Administrator quite differently.
“Argh! My, my eyes!”
The flash created by this tremendous explosion of demonic energy effectively blocked the Executive Administrator’s vision.
“…What is this—”
As the Executive Administrator clutched his eyes and collapsed, the Chief of Staff turned his head toward the Demon Lord as if to ask why.
And the dazzling flash emitted by the Hero’s holy sword struck the Chief of Staff’s eyes directly.
“…! My eyes!”
The Chief of Staff, just like the Executive Administrator had done, clutched his eyes and fell to the ground, rolling around.
“!”
“…!”
The Demon Lord and Hero looked at each other and nodded, as if recognizing this was their chance.
Then they scurried behind Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica.
“…Huh?”
Sir Dominica, who had been merely observing the situation until now, made a confused sound.
“What are you doing?”
Sir Dominic also asked the Demon Lord, not understanding the situation.
However, neither the Demon Lord nor the Hero answered Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica’s questions.
Instead, they showed them through action.
Sir Dominic, Sir Dominica, and the Demon Lord and Hero disappeared from that spot in the blink of an eye.
There was no warning, no sign.
They simply vanished from that place.
“Demon Lord! What is this—!”
The Chief of Staff, trying to calm his double or triple vision, searched for the Demon Lord.
But Demon Lord Teu Le Vante was already gone.
The Chief of Staff quickly turned his head, scanning the surroundings.
But there was no trace of the Demon Lord anywhere.
“Your Highness! Where are you!”
The Executive Administrator, who had just regained his senses like the Chief of Staff, was also looking for Hero.
But like the Demon Lord, the Hero had disappeared without leaving any trace.
The Chief of Staff and Executive Administrator looked at each other with bewildered expressions.
Their masters had escaped.
…
“!”
Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica realized there was nothing beneath their feet.
And they immediately noticed they were about 30cm above the ground.
Fortunately, Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica managed to land properly, maintaining their balance with amazing reflexes, but it was a bit different for the Demon Lord and Hero.
Little Sir Dominic and Little Sir Dominica bounced on the floor and rolled around.
“What on earth is this?”
Sir Dominic asked.
“…I think this might be that thing.”
“That thing?”
Sir Dominica stroked her chin as if she had some idea.
She needed to organize her thoughts.
Instead of bothering Dominica who was deep in thought, Dominic looked around to gather information.
“Buy them, buy them! Fresh apples for sale! One fresh apple for 170 Credits! Regular apples for 120 Credits! Roll a 10-pull for 1200 Credits and get a 3% chance for a fresh apple and a 17% chance for a regular apple!”
“That’s not bad. Give me a 10-pull.”
“Thank you!”
But Dominic realized that nothing had changed, to the point where it felt strange.
It was exactly the same place they had just disappeared from.
“Huh? Master?”
That’s when it happened.
Dominic heard someone’s voice from behind him.
“What brings you to Channel 2?”
When Dominic turned his head, Alice was there.
Alice, holding a triple-scoop ice cream cone, was directing her question at Sir Dominica, but when Dominic turned around, she seemed to sense his gaze and turned to meet his eyes.
“Huh?”
Alice blinked a couple of times as if not understanding the situation, then looked back and forth between Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica.
“Master… two of you?”
The strength left Alice’s hand, and the ice cream cone she was holding began to fall.
For Alice, the current situation was that bewildering and confusing.
With a thud, the ice cream fell to the ground.
