Ch. 159 MtF – Chapter 159
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 159
**A Voice Just for You. (4)**
“Yah-ho~ Toya, are preparations going well?”
“…More or less.”
“That’s not like you! The real Toya would usually say, ‘Of course, you idiot Inari.’”
Inari and I were grabbing coffee together at the company after a long time.
She’d recently hit a million subscribers herself, so it looked like she’d started preparing for her own live show too.
At first, she’d asked me about practice and related stuff… but pretty soon, as always, she was just teasing me.
She was always like that, so I didn’t get mad.
She probably just wanted to loosen me up a bit.
“By the way, what about Nat-chan? Aren’t you two always together?”
“Yeoreum’s, um… working out.”
“Working out? Alone?”
“With her manager.”
Thinking of Yeoreum’s manager—Nozomi—I let out a quiet sigh.
No matter how professional she was, Nozomi was still Nozomi.
It’s not like I didn’t want Yeoreum near her or anything, but… the idea that my time with Yeoreum was being _taken_ by Nozomi kind of stung.
I mean, I could help her work out too.
Sure, Nozomi’s been exercising hard lately, but back in high school she was totally scrawny.
Compared to me—someone who’s been active since childhood—it felt off.
Why _her_?
“Toya? Hello~? You’re not _that_ nervous, are you? Don’t overthink it! Just treat it like singing on stream~”
“That advice doesn’t help when it’s coming from someone who’s never been on stage.”
“C’mon, you know it’s the thought that counts! You’re new to this too, aren’t you?”
“…Maybe.”
“…Wait, really?”
Stage, huh…
I _had_ been on a stage a few times.
Not anything big, but… thinking about it now, maybe everything I’d done was leading me here in a roundabout way.
Almost like all my thoughts of Nozomi had vanished, my mind was now fully immersed in the upcoming live performance.
“It wasn’t a big stage or anything, but yeah—I’ve got _some_ experience. Though something this huge? It’s definitely a first.”
“What, don’t tell me you were an underground idol or something?”
“That’s not it.”
“So that theory about Toya being a failed indie singer was true after all…”
“…Why does that actually sting a little?”
Yeah, technically I was a no-name singer.
But hearing that _directly_ from someone else made it feel oddly real.
Then again, now that my _alias_ is famous, maybe I _have_ made it, in a way.
Well, as long as I’m making fans happy, it doesn’t matter much.
“Huh, no wonder you’re so good at singing. Anyway—does anyone else know? Just Nat-chan?”
“Yeoreum might not even know.”
“Liar~ Even if no one else in the world knew, Nat-chan totally would. I mean, you’re the one who figured out she was Han Yeoreum and brought her to Japan!”
“…”
That… feels different.
Come to think of it, I hadn’t told anyone else about this—not even once.
On the surface, my career started with V-Spe.
If I _had_ been known at all beforehand, it might’ve been harder to pull this off.
The less people knew about my past self, the better. That’s the red pill.
“So, when are _you_ gonna sing for _me_? Just once?”
“Watch the live.”
“What?! We’re genmates! You can sing for me just once, right?”
“Maybe if you were Nagisa. But you’re not, so no.”
“Hey! I even bought you coffee!”
Inari pouted, demanding a private performance.
There wasn’t _really_ a reason not to… but honestly, I was just feeling a bit petty.
Ugh, she didn’t even notice how moody I was being.
Like, come on. I’m _clearly_ broadcasting “I’m in a bad mood~” here.
“And hey, what’s going on with Nat-chan lately?”
“…Nothing, really.”
Which was the problem.
If we’d fought or something, at least that would explain the shift.
But everything was just… normal. We were still together as usual, but Yeoreum had suddenly started acting _different_. And it was driving me _crazy_.
Did I do something? Did I overstep? Was I being too protective?
Maybe she was sick of being treated like a child.
Maybe we were spending less time together because of live prep and she was starting to drift away…
They say less time together makes hearts grow apart.
“Yeah, I’m going back.”
“Wait, already? We just got coffee! You’re not seriously ditching after I paid, are you?!”
“Then come with me, dummy Inari.”
“…Huh? Really?”
Why not?
I sighed as Inari perked up at the offer.
I _could’ve_ gone back alone. But lately, being alone with Yeoreum had this weird, awkward vibe.
So maybe having Inari around would help soften things a bit.
Up until our last stream, everything was still fine…
“You _sure_ you didn’t fight with her? You dragging me along because things are too awkward between you two?”
“Haah… I said we didn’t fight.”
Inari giggled beside me, clearly enjoying this way too much.
For a second, I seriously considered leaving her behind.
But… I’d already invited her. Couldn’t take it back now.
Why does she get so hyped up every time she talks about me and Yeoreum?

**[Toya’s been doing way more zatsudan streams lately.]**
**[(Clip: Toya plugging her live while chatting.MVI)
Wouldn’t more people come if she promoted her live _while_ doing a singing stream? lol]**
↳ [She probably showed enough teasers already. This is her way of saying “come if you’re interested.”]
↳ [She’s been singing a ton lately—maybe she’s taking it easy to protect her voice now.]
↳ [↳ Yeah, she sang those hard songs 3 times a week. Gotta rest up before the big day.]
↳ [↳ Your voice _is_ your life if you’re a singer lol]
↳ [Seems like she’s a little nervous about the live, huh?]
↳ [↳ She’s been acting more calm and serious than usual.]
↳ [↳ Or maybe progress hasn’t been as smooth as she hoped?]
↳ [↳ Still, Toya’s basically pro-level at this point.]
↳ [↳ She _does_ sing like someone who had a past life as a struggling indie singer lol]
**[Did something happen between Toya and Nat-chan?]**
**[(Chart tracking Toya & Natsu’s collabs over time.JPG)
Their collab streams have dropped _a lot_ compared to before.
Did they fight or something? Are they living separately now?
As a TonaNatsu fan, I just want them to go back to collabing 3 times a week… 😢]**
↳ [If someone changed, it’s definitely Natsu.]
↳ [↳ Yeah, Toya’s attitude hasn’t really changed.]
↳ [↳ It feels like Natsu’s awkwardness is making Toya act awkward too.]
↳ [↳ Stop trying to make it sound like it’s all Natsu’s fault.]
↳ [↳ Neither of them’s addressed it, so maybe just give them space for now.]
↳ [They haven’t mentioned moving, so they’re probably still living together.]
↳ [I can’t imagine those two _actually_ fighting lol]
↳ [↳ It’s more like… awkward vibes, not a real fight.]
↳ [↳ If anything, they’re the type to _both_ back down to avoid conflict lol]
↳ [↳ That’s true…]
**[Inari just went live!]**
**[(Clip: Inari saying she’s streaming from Toya’s house.MVI)
She literally _went to Toya’s house_ to check up on things herself lmao
This is why we love Inari—zero hesitation 😂]**
↳ [Well, at least they’re still letting guests over lol]
↳ [↳ Or maybe Inari just barged in uninvited.]
↳ [↳ If that were true, no way Natsu would’ve welcomed her lmao]
↳ [↳ Didn’t she say Natsu greeted her warmly at the door?]
↳ [↳ I wish Natsu would greet _me_ like that when I get home…]
↳ [Inari and Toya seem totally normal. Inari and Natsu too. So why do Toya and Natsu get all awkward when they talk to _each other_?]
↳ [↳ Maybe their relationship just isn’t as close as before?]
↳ [↳ If you think like that, does that mean Nagisa just isn’t close with anyone? 😂]
↳ [↳ LMAO]
↳ [↳ Deadass tho]
