Ch.152Kiss of Fire 3

    Vice Chairwoman Na-hyun.

She stares at Ye-ji, who is dragging me by the nape of my neck with half-lidded eyes.

    Then suddenly, our eyes meet.

Na-hyun’s eyes flash as she sees my face, trembling with terror.

“Ah, so you’re from that so-called New Government or whatever?”

The Vice Chairwoman’s face is still flushed red.

But her previously wandering hand has already gripped the longsword at her waist.

“Why does the great… New Government need our daughter-in-law?”

    “That’s none of your business.”

Ye-ji glares at Na-hyun with narrowed eyes.

“My, what fierce eyes. Are you planning to kill someone with that look?”

    Na-hyun snickers.

She releases her grip on the longsword and begins walking toward Ye-ji and me.

In response, Ye-ji’s green eyes flash.

As they do, a strange noise comes from the air conditioner on the ceiling.

    Then…

Red sand pours out from the air conditioner’s vents.

The sand rises up, taking human form, becoming a pair of white-haired figures, male and female.

And these figures looked exactly like Ye-ji.

    “What the hell are those?”

Unlike the startled Black Snake, Na-hyun remains indifferent.

She pays no attention to the two sand humans, regarding them as mere mannequins.

“Adam and Eve. Weapons created by combining the essence of dead rankers.”

Ye-ji smiles leisurely in front of the Vice Chairwoman.

Then she lightly flicks her finger.

“And they were top ten rankers, too.”

With those words, the pair vanishes instantly.

Then, as if teleporting, they appear right in front of the Vice Chairwoman.

    “D-Danger! Vice Chairwoman!”

I cry out in an anguished voice.

I had no idea how strong these weapons I had created with my ability would be.

But contrary to my concerns, Na-hyun doesn’t go down easily.

No matter how intoxicated she might be, she’s still the unofficial third-ranked hunter.

Besides, she’s spent half her life in a drunken state.

Intoxication was never a penalty for her to begin with.

Eve, the female sand human, delivers a knife-hand strike toward Na-hyun’s neck.

Na-hyun casually avoids the attack by tilting her head.

Then she grabs a thick trophy displayed on the cabinet.

‘Ilsim Foot Volleyball Tournament 2nd Place, Jeok-sa.’

“Team Leader Han, I’m borrowing your trophy!”

She even apologizes to the absent Jeok-sa.

Then she immediately smashes the trophy down on Eve’s head.

The sound of crumbling sand accompanies the woman’s crushed head.

After instantly subduing one, she blocks Adam’s incoming fist by drawing her longsword.

Then, pulling the sword with all her might in one hand, she beheads Adam with a drawing technique.

Thanks to this, both sand humans melt into red particles flowing onto the floor.

“Damn… I’ll get in trouble for dirtying the hallway…”

Having dispatched two ranker-level threats in the blink of an eye, she grins at Ye-ji.

“Did you see that? If you don’t want to end up like them, put our daughter-in-law down.”

    Hiccups periodically escape Na-hyun’s mouth.

But despite her relaxed demeanor, Ye-ji isn’t intimidated.

Instead, she smirks and grips my neck even tighter.

“You think it ends that easily?”

    “What…?”

Na-hyun lowers her gaze, seemingly displeased by Ye-ji’s smile.

Soon, the Vice Chairwoman witnesses the spilled sand grains wriggling again.

Eventually, the sand quickly merges back into the forms of Adam and Eve.

    Finding this fascinating, Na-hyun snorts.

“Wow, what is this? It would be perfect for training our kids.”

“It’s red sand from the Sea of Galilee. Your inferior sword can never truly cut it.”

Ye-ji closes her eyes with a leisurely expression.

She shrugs her shoulders as if anticipating the Vice Chairwoman’s defeat.

    But…

    Ye-ji didn’t know.

    The position of Ilsim’s second-in-command.

That seat isn’t for just anyone.

Na-hyun was a far more formidable opponent than Ye-ji thought.

    “So what?”

Na-hyun grabs a bottle of wine from the kitchen.

Then she smashes it against the regenerated Adam’s head.

Purple wine spills over the distorted sand.

Adam, now mixed with liquid, writhes momentarily before ceasing all movement.

Seeing this, Ye-ji’s previously confident eyes widen in surprise.

“Even Jesus can’t resist wine, you know.”

Na-hyun, still hiccupping, turns to face the regenerated Eve.

    Eve, now alone.

Her arm transforms into a massive sand sword.

    It clashes with Na-hyun’s longsword.

The sand sword seems special, not easily breaking despite the collision.

But durability means nothing to Na-hyun.

She had already faced both simultaneously, so Eve alone was hardly a challenge.

She lightly parries the sand greatsword.

Then pushes her blade toward Eve’s hilt.

    What follows is simple.

She twists her blade, easily slicing through Eve’s wrist.

Sand crumbles, pouring onto the floor.

With Eve now defenseless, Na-hyun completely splits her in half.

“The swordsmanship of first-generation rankers is quite crude.”

Na-hyun stomps hard on the crushed sand with her bare foot.

She grinds it thoroughly to prevent it from rising again.

Ye-ji stares intently at the red sand.

Soon, she sighs deeply as if having no choice.

“I guess there’s no helping it.”

Ye-ji’s hand casually releases my neck.

I collapse weakly onto the floor.

    “Ugh…”

    “Are you alright, my dear?”

The Vice Chairwoman, who sounds completely sober when addressing me.

She speaks to me with a concerned expression.

“Just hang in there. The Vice Chairwoman will end this soon.”

    But Na-hyun’s words couldn’t continue.

Having released me, Ye-ji raises her dagger.

She thrusts the knife at Na-hyun’s neck with blinding speed.

    “End what exactly?”

The unexpected attack completely sobers Na-hyun.

Her face gradually changes from red to pale white.

“I gave you a chance to escape. Do you need to be stabbed like your subordinate to come to your senses?”

Na-hyun quickly backsteps to create distance.

Then she questions what she just heard.

    “Subordinate?”

“Yes, Black Snake was it? What a cringeworthy name.”

“Still better than your uninspired number games.”

Na-hyun firmly grips her longsword with one hand.

And unlike before, she swings it with complete seriousness.

Perhaps because of the mention of Black Snake being hurt.

She powerfully swings down with one hand a sword that would require two hands for even a strong man to lift.

But Ye-ji was no easy opponent either.

Commanding Adam and Eve meant she was at least stronger than both.

Ye-ji dodges the longsword with such speed that afterimages remain.

Then she slashes at Na-hyun’s entire body as if striking three times in one motion.

Perhaps due to the difference in weapons.

Na-hyun avoided most of the attacks, but shallow cuts appeared on her side, arms, and elsewhere.

    “Kugh…”

    Moreover…

Adam, who had melted when mixed with wine.

He gradually filtered out the alcohol from the sand and regained his form.

Eve, who had been scattered on the floor, also recovers and glares at Na-hyun with sandy eyes.

“Damn… this isn’t going to be easy.”

Cornered, the Vice Chairwoman can’t help but laugh bitterly.

Even someone like her couldn’t fight immortal beings forever.

Soon, the three inhuman entities begin pressuring Na-hyun so quickly she can’t even manage a bitter laugh.

Two massive sand swords, one nimble dagger.

They attack her relentlessly, as if the three had practiced together their entire lives.

But perhaps due to the repeated clashing of blades.

The Vice Chairwoman’s longsword was gradually glowing red-hot.

Na-hyun blocks all three of their blades at once.

Then with a mighty battle cry… she pushes them back with sheer force.

The impact causes the two sand humans to crumble.

Even Ye-ji staggers backward, black blood boiling from her mouth.

Only then could the Vice Chairwoman finally catch her breath.

“Are you triplets or something? You don’t give me a moment’s rest.”

    “That’s right, we’re triplets.”

Ye-ji smiles at the panting Na-hyun.

But despite her relaxed expression, black blood drips from her mouth.

    “Really triplets…?”

Na-hyun tilts her head at those words.

Soon, she frowns as if recalling an eerie memory.

“Come to think of it, I heard there were triplets among the first-generation rankers long ago…”

Na-hyun’s previously playful eyes turn serious.

She glares at Ye-ji and asks in a low voice.

“How did you come back to life?”

At those words, Ye-ji gives a strange smile.

Then, with her hands behind her back, she tilts her head.

“Curious? Want to bring your father back healthy like us?”

    A sudden provocation.

To this provocation, Na-hyun speaks firmly in a voice lower than usual.

“Hey, don’t bring parents into this.”

“If you want your father to live ‘healthily’ like us, join under Park Sin-ae.”

Adam and Eve regenerate on either side of Ye-ji, who stands with her hands behind her back.

    “Never aging. Never dying.”

Ye-ji pays no attention to her siblings who have become sand humans.

Rather, she smiles broadly as if pleased that they are immortal.

“Most of the resurrected first-generation rankers are already under her. Someone like your father would receive a high position.”

Ye-ji extends her hand as if bestowing mercy.

Her hand glows with the soft light of the Angelic Hand.

Na-hyun stares intently at Ye-ji’s hand, which uses the same ability as mine.

As if lost in thought for a moment.

But soon, she curls up the corners of her mouth.

And answers Ye-ji with a smirk.

“Too bad, our family isn’t the type to serve under anyone.”

    The red-hot greatsword.

Even to the naked eye, tremendous heat has accumulated around its edges.

The longsword she had been wielding with one hand until now.

Na-hyun firmly grips it with both hands.

And very slowly raises it toward the sky.

“Continue your family roleplay in hell.”

    The elevated longsword.

Red currents gather around its blade.

Eventually, those currents spread throughout Vice Chairwoman Choi Na-hyun’s entire body.

    “I’ll send you there directly.”

All the air in the vicinity gathers at the tip of the sword.

During this process, every vein in her forehead becomes prominent.

Na-hyun swings the sword with all her might toward the triplets.

Ye-ji’s eyes widen at the blazing flash.

    “What is this…!”

I, hiding behind the sofa, still can’t forget that sight.

Like a massive solar storm sweeping through.

With that intense storm, Ye-ji’s entire body turns to ash and scatters.

The penthouse’s elegant floor-to-ceiling windows collapse as if hit by a nuclear attack.

The vast night sky now exposed.

That night sky briefly turns red like a 6 PM sunset.

And the floating dark clouds all develop massive holes.

Thanks to this, not a trace of red sand remains in the penthouse.
