Ch.152Epilogue 1. The Three Sisters of Fate
by fnovelpia
Swallowed by Chaos, Denarua was waiting for her end with her eyes closed.
Having thrown herself in along with her sisters to spare Lin the burden, she could easily tell that Lin had been absorbed as well.
She struggled alongside Adora and Salomei, trying to save Lin, but soon collapsed from exhaustion as the black demonic energy closed in around them.
She took some comfort in the fact that the demonic energy wasn’t harming Lin but merely holding him, and tried to gather her strength, but instead, the dragon warriors had all their demonic energy stolen.
‘Damn it…!’
She felt pathetic, waiting to die like an insect in a venus flytrap, taking minimal satisfaction in knowing that at least Lin was safe.
Once again, after her brother, she was about to lose someone she loved in such a futile way.
Denarua was filled with regret.
If she had known this would happen, she wouldn’t have opposed Lin and his companions but would have helped them instead….
She never imagined that Tiana, her only family, would become mentally twisted and drive everything toward destruction.
It was unbelievable that the Demon King, who had always comforted them, would become the starting point of this catastrophe.
‘None of that matters. Lin is what’s important!’
She could feel his energy fading.
She wanted to find him and send him outside immediately, but it was beyond her power.
That’s when it happened.
A pink flash of light pierced through the darkness.
“I love him!”
With a confident shout, Lucy cut through Chaos’s belly and entered.
The hero, who had been desperately calling for Lin, found him by following her red thread.
“You must be happy….”
Denarua was moved by the sight of Lucy sending Lin outside, setting aside her own desires and carrying only her wish for him.
She even envied Lucy for finally acting like a true hero and sacrificing herself for Lin’s sake.
That’s why Lucy’s death, crushed by the black demonic energy and reduced to pieces of flesh, was so heartbreaking.
Now… it must be my turn.
At least I can close my eyes peacefully.
Just when she thought she had no more regrets, her vision was filled with light.
[It’s certainly easier to find things when there’s light.]
“Goddess?! What are you doing here?!”
[Atonement.]
Surprisingly, the new visitor who had entered Rinascien’s belly was the Goddess Justini.
[I’ve released all my power and come to set everything right.]
“Set things right?”
[To purify the sinners and return everything to its original state—all the events that occurred due to my mistakes.]
“That sounds like…”
[Yes, I will sacrifice my life as payment.]
The pure white light wasn’t just pushing back the demonic energy; it was leaking through cracks forming all over Rinascien’s body.
Denarua also spotted Adora and Salomei, who were still collapsed.
Like her, they had been drained of all their demonic energy and purified to nearly human forms.
“Not bad. Being companions with a goddess.”
[No, you’re far from being my companions. Instead, I ask that you carry my burden.]
“Wh-what are you saying? Your burden?”
When Denarua asked in confusion, the goddess smiled sadly.
[I’ve done terrible things to you. I took away your brother and sister who loved you when you were lonely, and I shattered what few sanctuaries your heart had.]
“Shouldn’t you first tell me what you’re entrusting to me?”
At Denarua’s irritation, the goddess revealed her main point.
[Rule the world. You and your sisters, this world.]
“Rule… the world?”
[Yes, I was naive, and the evil god was cunning, so we ended up ruining the world. You alone, Denarua, know both the pain and love of the world. I judged that you could do it. But since you also suffer from loneliness, please rule together with Adora and Salomei.]
“What makes you trust me? I could make the world an even bigger mess than it is now. Besides, we’re practically human now.”
[No, Denarua. You’re not human.]
She had momentarily forgotten.
Denarua was never human to begin with.
[A vampire. A vampire who can take others’ power through blood and see souls. I never had any other candidates.]
The goddess pulled back her hair, revealing her pure white nape.
[Now, let’s begin.]
“No, no, no! What are you starting on your own?!”
[There’s no time.]
“I can’t rule the world!”
[Is that so? Then Lin will have to face a harsh life again without a guardian to care for him.]
Flinch.
[Regardless of whether you take my power, purifying the world is essential. It’s uncertain how humanity without order and ethics will treat each other, especially Lin.]
“You…!”
Though Denarua was glaring at her irreverently, the goddess embraced her gently.
[This world—Lin—needs you all. You who know pain must ensure that such pain never infects the world again. Let the love you received wrap the world in warmth.]
After pausing briefly, the goddess spoke meaningfully.
[And punishment for the sinners too.]
The place she pointed to with her finger contained the soul of Rainford, drooling and trembling.
[Also, comfort and blessings for those who sacrificed.]
And finally, she pointed to where a noble soul was floating with a red thread, unable to escape this place.
“You… trust me?”
[There’s no need for trust since I’m going to die anyway. If I were to self-destruct with my full power intact, it would tear not just the world but dimensions. I may have stupidly fallen victim to causality, but I myself am mighty. Even the supreme beings must be cautious.]
“I never had a choice from the beginning!”
The goddess smiled and offered her nape again.
[Now, let’s really begin.]
Sighing, Denarua shook her head before sinking her teeth into the goddess’s neck.
[Ahng!]
The goddess made a strange moan, but Denarua ignored it and vigorously sucked in the divine power.
Denarua’s body began to glow white.
An amazingly powerful force was entering her body.
Rustle
One pair of the goddess’s wings disappeared and sprouted on Denarua’s back instead.
[I’ve informed my few faithful servants. From now on, the world will be ruled by the three sisters of fate who govern the past, present, and future.]
The light transferred to Adora and Salomei as well.
Even as she absorbed the power and transferred it to them, Denarua glowed even brighter.
[The past, which can easily deceive one into thinking it beautiful, shall be governed by the one who dealt in falsehoods.]
As wings sprouted on Adora’s back, the illusionist opened her eyes.
[The present, weighed down by reality, shall be governed by the one who became lazy under the burden of sorrow.]
Salomei also awoke and marveled at her newly sprouted wings.
[And the uncertain future, which one must face entirely alone, I entrust to you who has embraced solitude.]
Conversely, the goddess was losing her light.
[From now on, I name you the three sisters of fate and command you to rule the world henceforth.]
Authority: Divinity rose fully within the three.
The goddess gently pushed Denarua away, indicating she had done enough.
[I entrust the world to you. I entrust Lin to you. Please let him live without suffering or want.]
“Leave it to me.”
Denarua promised with a confident tone.
“I’ll make sure Lin is happy.”
[Yes, I believe you.]
The goddess turned her head with a stern face.
At the end of her desolate gaze was a dark girl curled up alone.
[Farewell.]
As Justini walked calmly toward the girl, Denarua quietly bid her goodbye.
“You did well.”
At those words, the goddess’s smile faded.
Though invisible to Denarua, the goddess held back tears as she lifted and embraced the girl.
[Sister…?]
[It’s all over now. It’s all over, Angria.]
The goddess shed tears she had been holding back as she embraced the girl, who could barely open her eyes and was slumped over.
[My stupidity made you lonely.]
[I… I only needed you, sister… why did it turn out like this…]
[We were all foolish.]
[Sister, are we together now…?]
[Yes. Forever together.]
[I just want to sleep in your arms forever.]
The goddess exhaled heavily and embraced her more tightly.
The goddess’s body grew increasingly hot, igniting flames.
[As much as you want.]
At that answer, tears flowed down the evil god’s cheeks as well.
[I’m sorry, sister.]
KWAAAANG!
A massive explosion marked the end of the two divine beings of good and evil.
—
“Ummm….”
Rainford made a cracked sound as he opened his eyes.
The heat in the air was no joke. He tried hard to swallow, but it was too much for his parched throat.
“Wa… water…”
Crawling on all fours with his eyes barely open due to the heat, the shield knight felt his hand splash into a puddle.
Water!
As he frantically scooped it up to drink, Rainford soon noticed something strange.
It was liquid, but it was very slimy and felt odd going down his throat.
When he finally opened his eyes completely, he confirmed that what he had been drinking was some kind of black, sticky sewage.
Frowning and spitting, he soon witnessed the scene before him and fell backward in shock.
“Ugh!”
“Die die die!!!!”
To put it simply, four women were torturing one man.
More specifically, two of the women had grotesque lower bodies like men and were stabbing and biting the man from front and back.
Though bizarrely twisted with hair falling out, one had large breasts, while the other’s chest was torn open showing the dermis, but her cursing voice revealed she was female.
Additionally, an elf with large ears whose lower body had exploded was vomiting rotten semen into the man’s mouth.
The semen that entered his mouth sizzled and burned inside the man’s incised chest.
“Because of you! I abandoned Gerero! I was abandoned by Gerero!”
A woman with long fingernails was slashing the man while her lower body was split open, receiving the burning semen and cursing.
All five were stuck together like one, cursing each other and attacking.
“Urgh! Ugh!”
The man was trembling with his eyes rolled back, feeling all the pain fully without being able to go insane.
“Hee, heek!”
The shield knight, once arrogant as a “guardian of balance,” backed away until he bumped into someone’s foot.
“P-please save me! Save…! Kack?!”
As he grabbed blindly and begged for help, he was slapped and fell over.
The person who had walked up to him grabbed his head and forcibly turned it toward the torture scene.
“Watch carefully, Rainford. You must pay the price for the chaos you caused in the world.”
The angel governing the future, with black curly hair, whispered stickily.
“You haven’t forgotten what the goddess said, have you? That she would definitely put you next to the second thief.”
“No, no! I-I am a body meant to protect balance!”
“Yes, sure, let’s balance your sins here. When all your holes are pierced by those damned things, you won’t be able to tell if you’re a man or a woman, so try balancing yourself then.”
“N-no! I don’t want to!”
Though he kicked with both feet, Rainford was simply dragged along in Denarua’s grip.
“Here, fresh meat!”
She kicked the shield knight in the back while holding his hair, and with a ripping sound, his hair tore out as he fell with a thud near them.
“This one tormented and nearly killed the person with Gerero’s soul in this life.”
“Ge… rero…?”
The second magician’s neck twisted grotesquely as she turned to look at Rainford.
Similarly, the other three were glaring at him.
“Who knows? If you take revenge for Gerero, he might be grateful enough to notice you.”
At those words, the magician and elf warrior approached him, except for the two who couldn’t move because they were penetrating the second thief’s lower body.
“Stay back! I am Morgan Rainford! The de facto leader of the hero’s party and guardian of balance… AAAAARGH!”
“Eat a dick.”
Crack.
With tremendous strength, the elf tore off Rainford’s manhood in one go and shoved it into his mouth.
“What shall we do?”
“Let’s skin him. Fillet each organ one by one in the most painful way. So that when Gerero comes to see, he’ll praise me.”
The second magician answered the warrior’s question with bloodshot eyes.
Those eyes no longer held arrogance, only despair.
“I want to do it! I should be the one praised by Gerero!”
“How dare you aspire to that, you bitch who died from eating monster dick until you burst!”
The two sinners growled at each other as they slowly reached for the newcomer.
Rainford struggled but could do nothing.
“Well then, enjoy your time. I’ll come back in about a thousand years.”
Denarua waved lightly as she closed the door to hell.
“Uuuuu! Uuuuuuuuu!”
Rainford called for help through his blocked mouth as Denarua mercilessly walked away, but the magician grabbed his arm and immediately began skinning him with a dagger.
“Keuuuuuuugh! Oack…!”
“Now, let’s begin. Atonement for him. Eternally, like me, until he notices us.”
The second magician giggled with despair.
—
In a pure white space, this was where the three sisters of fate resided above the heavens.
As Denarua returned, shaking off the heat of hell, Adora and Salomei greeted her.
“Is the punishment over~?”
“It’s just beginning. Anyway, don’t sleep, Salomei.”
“But I’m tired from working so hard.”
“Excuses.”
“Salomei is right. Even I’m tired. It’s your turn now.”
“Haah, really. This one requires a lot of work.”
Denarua shook her head and stood before a soul.
This person, whom the three sisters were taking turns restoring, was so strong that considerable power was needed for the recovery.
“Ah, the speech is starting! Denarua! We need to go down!”
“I don’t want to go… There’s not enough time to restore this one.”
“What are you saying? We must go down and announce the beginning of the age of fate.”
“Ah, really!”
The three sisters descended slowly to the skies above Lowellina, deliberately showing off their light and wings.
Salomei, who was timing their appearance according to Ruben’s call, asked Denarua out of boredom while waiting.
“How long do you think this will take?”
“Hmm, about two years maybe?”
“It takes quite a while even with our power~.”
“But we can’t do it carelessly.”
“That’s true~ Ah, they’re calling us! Let’s go!”
“W-wait, Salomei!”
As Salomei suddenly descended, Adora followed.
Watching them, Denarua sighed, cleared her throat, and deliberately revealed herself slowly before the humans.
She could see him.
Him.
She could see the face of the one who had endured so much hardship.
‘I’ll make sure you live a happy life.’
Denarua and her sisters smiled very briefly as they looked at him.
The world had now ended the age of gods and begun the age of fate.
The past, which is easy to deceive oneself about, is falsehood.
The present, buried and tired in reality, is sloth.
The future, which must be prepared for and faced alone, is solitude.
These three angels are the three sisters of fate, which also signifies the coming of the human age where people must carve out their own destiny.
