Chapter Index

    ‘Quests are piling up.’

    While confirming that the Girls Talk was underway, I decided to check on the progress of daily quests and tackle the accumulated quests that had been piling up.

    I also decided to thoroughly investigate things I hadn’t properly looked at until now.

    And the moment I had that thought…

    <Resource Mining 10 times completed!>

    ‘Hmm?’

    With this sudden notification, I decided to check my quest status first.

    <Daily Quest Clear List>

    <Expedition Resource Mining 1 time> (Cleared)

    <Resource Mining 3 times> (Cleared)

    <Resource Mining 10 times> (Cleared)

    <Starship Construction 1 time> (Cleared)

    <Dismantle Old Starship 1 time>

    <Base Upgrade 1 time>

    <Superhuman Upgrade 1 time>

    <Starship Construction Quest completed!>

    ‘Oh.’

    Seeing another quest being cleared in the midst of all this, I unconsciously nodded with satisfaction.

    ‘Finally, it seems like I’m getting my day in the sun.’

    Of course, in a way, it’s really nothing special—just an ordinary everyday success.

    But compared to yesterday when everything was intensely frustrating, today things have been going well since morning.

    I felt genuinely happy about each little thing like this.

    Anyway, after having that thought, I considered what I had done earlier.

    That is, for the base upgrade, I should…

    ‘Hmm, I guess it’s better to increase ship production capacity first?’

    —————————————-

    <Shipyard> (300) <Selected>

    <Would you like to build? Y/N>

    —————————————-

    Cursing this damn game for not allowing multiple base upgrades simultaneously…

    ‘Y-es.’

    I decided to prioritize building the shipyard right away.

    And after that, I started worrying about that “Superhuman Upgrade”…

    ‘Damn it, I completely forgot.’

    The issue was with the three women currently busy chattering in Girls Talk.

    More precisely, I had no idea how to develop the other two characters besides Ignis.

    If this damn game allowed me to feed characters experience items like other common games, that would be one thing.

    But our base’s storage currently had no such items whatsoever.

    Without those, we’d either have to gain experience through combat to level up—the typical method—or use some kind of shortcut to grow, like in Ignis’s case.

    The problem was figuring out how to apply that “shortcut” growth method to Pashtra and Berial.

    I still vaguely remembered their basic attack methods and fighting styles, but…

    “Hmm… Jessica?”

    “Yes, Commander.”

    “I’m trying to develop Pashtra and Berial, but I can’t think of a good method.”

    “Well… I’ve been thinking about it too, but honestly, I’m not sure.”

    Their health was too low to use them for mineral collection like Ignis, which made the situation quite awkward.

    After much deliberation, I finally came up with the simplest solution to this problem.

    ‘Wait, I could just ask the community.’

    With that thought—and the ironic realization that I was so quick to figure this out—I opened the status window, or rather the community window, that I had folded and tossed aside, and began writing a post.

    —————————————

    Title: Question) Guys, how do I upgrade my superhumans using shortcuts?

    Author: Icarus

    Content: [Image of Pashtra and Berial standing together.]

    I managed to pull these two characters, but I have no idea how to develop them

    Seriously urgent

    How should I raise them to become well-known?

    —————————————

    ‘Hmm, is this good enough?’

    At first, I tried to write politely with honorifics since I was asking for help.

    But it seemed my understanding of community style was correct—after seeing someone get cursed at for using honorifics, I decided to delete all the honorifics while still keeping the post as respectful as possible.

    ‘Newbie nerds, please help me.’

    Of course, I didn’t expect an immediate response, so after posting the question, I closed the community window and decided to use Pashtra and Berial by opening the “equipment” boxes that had appeared from the 10-pull gacha to equip them with gear.

    But before proceeding with that task…

    “Jessica, remind me to check the community in 30 minutes.”

    “Yes, Commander.”

    I set Jessica, who serves as my adjutant, as my alarm before starting my work.

    However, no matter how generously I looked at it, the best I had was just a “Special Equipment Box,” so…

    “Hmm.”

    “This is quite an intricate item, Commander.”

    “Sorry, that’s the best I have right now.”

    “Since it’s a gift from you, Commander, the thought matters more than the performance… hehehe♡”

    “Indeed, Commander, there’s no need for you to worry about it.”

    Seeing how modest everything was compared to what I remembered from three years ago, I couldn’t help but feel a pang in my heart.

    ==========

    Anyway, while I was busy matching equipment and accessories, and simultaneously trying to expand our base defense fleet from 6 ships to 7 with great effoooort…

    “Commander, Commander.”

    “Yes?”

    “The 30 minutes you mentioned just passed.”

    “Ah, time flew by that quickly.”

    Thinking that time had passed faster than expected, I instructed Jessica to finish setting up their equipment, then went straight to my dedicated seat in the command center. Humming a tune, I opened the “Community Window.”

    Since more than 30 minutes had passed, I expected at least a few comments.

    But…

    —————————————

    -<Question) Guys, how do I upgrade my superhumans using shortcuts?> (Comments: 1)

    —————————————

    ‘What, how is this possible?’

    The fact that only one comment was posted in over 30 minutes momentarily bewildered me.

    ‘Hmm… maybe that one comment is so nutritious that no one else needed to comment.’

    Since that kind of thing happened surprisingly often, I opened the post with that hopeful mindset to check the comment…

    -[Dunno?]

    ‘Oh for fuck’s sake.’

    No such luck.

    As you can tell from my messy and trivial excuses, all I got back was nonsense.

    ‘What was I even expecting?’

    Logically, if only one comment was posted in over 30 minutes, it meant my post had been buried.

    Faced with this harsh reality, I fell silent for a moment, sinking into contemplation.

    And after a while…

    ‘…You started this.’

    Fueled by anger directed at no one in particular, I began carefully crafting another post on the community board.

    This time, however, I threw politeness into a black hole far, far away…

    —————————————-

    Title: Aren’t Pashtra and Berial complete garbage characters?

    Author: Icarus

    Content: [Full body image of Pashtra], [Full body image of Berial]

    One has a glass body with only good magic power, so she’s only useful as a sex doll.

    The other is mid-range so she’s awkwardly in-between.

    Aren’t they both too ambiguous to develop at this stage?

    How am I supposed to raise these? Are you stupid?

    —————————————-

    ‘Perfect.’

    It was a post that would clearly draw “aggro” from anyone who saw it.

    And it seems my thinking wasn’t wrong, because less than a minute after posting…

    -Ding ding ding ding ding ding

    Through the “comment notification” feature I had checked in the status menu, I could see comments pouring in real-time.

    With great satisfaction, I decided to check the comments again.
