Ch.14Back to Work Right After Discharge, That’s Me – 3

“A foreigner. Wow, she’s really pretty.”

“Isn’t she an actress? Or a model? Wow… her body is amazing.”

“Hey. Your voice is too loud. Keep it down.”

“She probably doesn’t understand Korean anyway, so what’s there to worry about?”

Rina Lee giggled at the students’ comments.

What do they mean I don’t understand? The problem is I understand too well.

    ‘Amazing body? Hahaha! I’m sexy, aren’t I?’

Rina hopped around the Superpower Academy with a spring in her step.

She was in a good mood. Her disguise had worked better than expected.

In movies, people just cut their hair a bit and put on glasses, and that’s the end of their disguise.

She used to think, “Does that actually work?” But apparently, it really does.

Even while openly wandering around the academy, none of the students seemed to recognize who she was.

‘I wonder if those villain bastards would fall for this too? Maybe I should visit a high-crime area? Someone might try to mess with me, and then I could legally beat them to a pulp.’

Villains can kill superpower users without any consequences.

But superpower users are generally required to capture villains alive.

Something about them having minimum rights as human beings or whatever.

If superpower users kill villains indiscriminately, the Human Rights Commission immediately protests.

Even the Superpower Association would find it troublesome and say it shouldn’t be done.

‘What nonsense. Human rights for villains? This country is so strange!’

Of course, there was one exception.

When a superpower user’s life is in serious danger.

In that case, killing a villain would be overlooked.

‘Should I go blow off some steam for once, or not?’

She also had the justification of revenge for the academy attack.

Other S-class superpower users wouldn’t particularly object either.

Rina briefly considered it but soon abandoned the idea.

Was she worried about tarnishing her reputation as South Korea’s strongest S-class superpower user? No way.

‘If Mom finds out, she’ll smack me! Eek! I don’t want that!’

Shaking her head, Rina looked around and removed her glasses.

She let her hair down and shook it once, causing a golden waterfall to cascade down.

    “Heh.”

She stomped her foot once and lightly kicked off from the ground.

    BOOM—!

In an instant, a golden meteor shot up from the ground into the sky.

‘Ah. Jiyoon unnie is going to lecture me again.’

Didn’t she tell her to stop doing that inside the academy?

She could feel it in her toes. The floor was probably completely shattered from her jump.

Whatever! Rina forgot about it and landed on the rooftop of a nearby building.

    Hmm—

Humming to herself, she sat on the building rooftop and looked out at the world.

She’d been bored lately, but today something very interesting had happened.

    ‘Seojin Baek.’

She recalled the face of the Silver-grade examiner she had met earlier.

He was quite tall, had a nice face, and seemed like a decent person.

But what interested Rina the most was, of course, “that incident.”

‘He survived being hit by the Spear Wraith. This feels promising.’

A deep smile spread across Rina’s face.

She recalled the conversation she had with Jiyoon Han earlier.

    *

“Unnie. Still haven’t found the Spear Wraith?”

“No. Don’t get your hopes up. It’ll be hard to find him. He’s already secretive, and with Sujin Hyun by his side, tracking is practically impossible.”

“Ha, that coward. He ran away because I was coming, right? Right?”

He wasn’t just any villain but an “Elder.”

Even Jiyoon Han herself wouldn’t easily say such things.

Objectively speaking, it would be very difficult to determine who would win.

But Rina was different. She had the right to say such things.

The only person who had defeated Hyuk Kwak, one of the Elders, multiple times.

The Spear Wraith, who fears no one, only has one opponent he avoids—Rina.

‘The reason he became a traitor in the first place was because of his defeat by her.’

Just a few years ago, Hyuk Kwak was one of the proud S-class superpower users.

His arrogant personality was problematic, but his skills were so exceptional that no one could say anything.

That Hyuk Kwak was defeated by Rina, who was just a teenager at the time.

An S-class superpower user kneeling before a high school girl who hadn’t even entered the academy.

After that, Hyuk Kwak couldn’t recover from the shock and became a completely twisted person.

He forgot both his duty as a superpower user and his dignity as a strong person.

The only thing important to him was defeating Rina. Becoming stronger for that purpose.

Eventually, he abandoned his position and became a villain himself, blindly pursuing strength.

All to defeat just one person, to sharpen his spear to pierce Rina.

‘His arrogance turned into a fatal poison that came back to him.’

Jiyoon Han shook her head as she looked at Rina standing in front of her.

“That bastard keeps saying he wants to fight me but always runs away. How long is he going to keep sharpening his spear? You have to stab to know ‘Ah, this is how I should stab.’ What a pathetic level. He’s dog food, right?”

    “…”

Every time she sees her, she wonders if this is really the Rina who’s called “the strongest.”

“Rina. Stop it. Aren’t you coming back?”

“I should. I should, but you haven’t told me the details yet?”

    “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

She pretends not to know anything.

But it wouldn’t work at all.

“Come on, Jiyoon unnie. I have ears that hear everything.”

    “…”

“Tell me quickly. That examiner who survived being hit by his spear.”

    Sigh—

Jiyoon Han sighed and fell into thought for a moment.

Given Rina’s personality, she wouldn’t be able to stay still after hearing such news.

She’d probably go straight to Seojin Baek and bother him a lot.

‘It would be very troublesome for Seojin.’

That’s why she initially didn’t want to tell her.

Honestly, the investigation into Seojin Baek wasn’t complete yet.

But considering Rina’s personality, that could be even more dangerous.

If she goes around stirring things up, she might attract the attention of villains.

In that case, it would be much better to give her some information.

“Seojin Baek. Belongs to the measurement department. After awakening his ability, he had nothing special, so he failed to enter the academy and just passed the 9th grade general administration as a special case of superpower. He’s been working as a civil servant since then.”

    “Huh? What? That’s it?”

    “Unfortunately, that’s it.”

Rina pestered Jiyoon, saying that couldn’t be all.

She asked if there was anyone special in his family, or if there was something hidden.

“There isn’t. His family relationship is listed as alone. He probably survived alone when his family was caught in a gate incident. So absolutely don’t mention that part. It’s disrespectful.”

    “I understand.”

“Really? You said nonsense in front of people who lost their families last time and got a lot of criticism.”

“I just forgot about that! How many times do I have to say it!”

There are things you should forget, but not that. Sigh. How frustrating.

Shaking her head once more, Jiyoon Han continued.

“I honestly don’t understand this situation either. A superpower user who failed to enter the academy survived an Elder’s attack. And he experienced it twice. And despite that, he still blocked the way.”

“Ooh. Could it be something like this? What’s called a power-hiding nerd!”

    “…What’s that?”

“Eh? You don’t know this, unnie? Power-hiding nerd! A nerd who hides his power!”

What on earth is that? As Jiyoon Han frowned, Rina immediately attacked.

“Unnie, you don’t even know this? Wow… our unnie has really gotten old.”

“…What is this crazy girl saying!”

Jiyoon immediately grabbed the sword next to her.

Talking about age openly in front of a woman? This deserves a beating.

“Hahaha! Anyway! It’s an interesting story. The Spear Wraith bastard is gone, and I’ll be going now!”

“Before you go, take at least one hit. How dare you say that to your unnie!”

Jiyoon Han brandished her sword in its sheath with glaring eyes.

In response, Rina smiled brightly and poured oil on the fire.

“Hehe! Sorry! But it’s true that you’ve aged!”

    “Hey! Rina—!!”

    *

    Buzz— Buzz buzz—

Checking her phone, Rina pressed the call button.

“Yes. When am I coming out? I’m not at the academy. Here? Um… a building. I don’t know. I just came to a high place I could see. So you’re asking where that is? Figure it out yourself. An attendant should be able to do that much. Yes. That’s your problem. I’m hanging up? If you don’t come within 10 minutes, I’m going alone.”

Ignoring the desperate “Miss Rina!” coming from the other end of the phone.

After ending the call, Rina thought about Seojin Baek.

‘I considered two possibilities. Either he’s hiding it, or he doesn’t know. Like me in the past, there are cases where someone doesn’t know anything and it manifests later.’

That’s why she deliberately held his hand to check his ability.

No matter how much someone tries to hide themselves, they can’t help but react to power entering their body.

A kind of collision law that strong people have. An instinct that can never be ignored.

And Rina’s conclusion was that ‘he doesn’t know his own ability.’

She couldn’t be 100% sure, but it was at least 80% certain.

“Ah. This makes me so excited. Handsome oppa.”

He doesn’t know how strong he is. He probably just thinks he’s lucky.

When that man, Seojin Baek, finally becomes strong, how amazing will he be?

He will give her a thrilling and exciting battle that can’t even be compared to someone like Hyuk Kwak.

And on top of that, he’s much better looking than Hyuk Kwak with his ugly appearance.

A moment that’s not disgusting but rather enjoyable every time they fight!

    “Mmm—!”

Stretching fully, Rina suddenly seemed to realize something and started laughing.

“Oh! Is this what they call… raising a pet?! Hahaha! Ahhh! I’m so excited—!!”

If villains were here, they would probably say, “As expected of the Yellow Madwoman. She’s living up to her name.”
