Koyuki answered Inari’s question vaguely.
More than just acquaintances, they were family—but she didn’t seem eager to reveal that.
After all, Ragu-sensei was quite well-known online for various reasons.
“If I had to describe it… maybe something like family?”

Inari explained that calling them Natsu and Fuyu made them feel even more like twins, so it stuck.
Still, Fuyu-chan had seemed totally fine just a moment ago, yet fell asleep the second she laid down.
Maybe she was more exhausted than she let on.

When I poked her cheek, it felt soft and squishy.
“She looks exactly like Nacchan when she’s asleep.”
“Well… she is a twin.”
“Still, they’re pretty easy to tell apart when they’re awake.”

Since Koyuki was asleep, I figured I might as well try sleeping too.
I got everything set up, glanced at sleeping Koyuki for a moment… then laid down beside her.

Whoa—she’s hugging me already…
The moment I lay down, she latched onto me.
She wrapped an arm around my neck and tangled her legs with mine.

“Hnng, huff, ngh… huff…”
“…Inari?”
“Ah, it’s nothing! Jus-just gimme a second…”

I tilted my head at the weird noises Inari was making, but I couldn’t turn to look since Koyuki was holding me tight.
It honestly sounded like someone who was struggling to breathe.

Anyway, lying down like this, sleep started to hit me hard.
Having Koyuki, who shared my body temperature and was all soft and squishy, snuggled up to me probably didn’t help.
Ugh, I gotta sleep fast.

“By the way, where’s Inari gonna sleep?”
“I’m fine with the floor, really!”
“Doesn’t feel right for the host to sleep on the floor… maybe I should sleep there instead?”
“No, it’s okay, Nacchan!”

When I was living alone, I used to sleep on the floor anyway, so it didn’t really matter to me.
If Inari was fine with it, then whatever.

I let go of the tension in my body, ready to stay in bed.
Letting out a tiny yawn, I thought:
Wow, I really stayed up late today.

As I closed my eyes, it felt like my whole body melted away.

With those final words from Inari, I drifted off to sleep.
