Ch.147Communists are Vermin

    * * *

If the Reds had lost their will for revolution, Lenin and his gang, the idols of communism, would have given up long ago while they were in Germany.

Right now, strictly speaking, the communists aren’t completely losing.

They definitely failed in Russia to the point where they can never push back in, but didn’t they succeed in Germany? That alone is enough of an achievement for the communists.

Germany isn’t just some nobody country.

They even engaged in a naval arms race with the mighty British Empire.

Even though they messed up their diplomacy, a communist revolution in a country that gave the mighty British Empire a hard time carries special significance.

It means they’re getting their communist fix in Germany after failing in Russia.

“There are always such madmen around.”

    Just look at Trotsky.

After mobilizing the Okhrana to investigate, it seems things are going wild over there.

I don’t know if America hasn’t discovered Trotsky yet, or if they’re just leaving him alone.

What’s certain is that Trotsky seems to have a firm grip on Kentucky.

That’s why he’s been able to hold out until now.

Of course, since the Okhrana is pretending not to see him, he seems to be moving more freely, and it doesn’t seem like just ordinary communism either.

It appears he’s shifting toward racial equality to attract people of color.

Anyway, what’s important is that such a madman exists.

I don’t know when he might pick up a chicken leg and start a revolution! Anyway, now that he’s established himself in Kentucky and named his organization KFC, I wonder if his revolution will look like a chicken revolution.

“Shouldn’t we just keep an eye on things for now?”

“The tough ones might escape, so it’s better to monitor them carefully.”

We’ve imprisoned the low-ranking Bolsheviks rather than killing them all, but let’s think about this.

There might be some who could become notable figures by taking a different path from the original history.

They might even defect to communist Germany.

Of course, one might ask what these ignorant fellows would do in communist Germany.

“Ah, you don’t need to worry about that.”

    “Why not?”

    Reds are incredibly persistent.

Just look at Stalin, Trotsky, and Lenin—they were quite good at running away until they finally succeeded in their revolution.

“I hear that specially selected White Army re-education officers from the Roman National Party are monitoring and re-educating them.”

    “White Army re-education officers?”

    What the hell is that?

After White Russia won the civil war, I started hearing about all sorts of unfamiliar things.

Are White Army re-education officers similar to labor re-education?

I mean, brainwashing them to convert them.

I heard about something like this in the world I originally lived in.

North Korean operatives dispatched to Japan kidnapped Japanese women and took them to North Korea to re-educate them.

Is it something similar to that?

Well, given the cockroach-like tenacity of the Bolsheviks, they need to be converted somehow.

“They’re officers in charge of completely converting Bolsheviks ideologically.”

Is it similar to political officers?

    I’m starting to get scared.

Am I really such a huge idol in this country?

Recently, Alexei Gastev hasn’t been making many propaganda leaflets, but the most recent ones have deification slogans like “Mother Tsarina watches over us,” or advertise the White Army as “Mother Tsarina’s Army.”

Thanks to that, the White Army’s troops are growing sufficiently even though it’s not wartime.

The regular army alone must exceed 3 million, right?

Considering they went through the Great War and civil war, that’s an enormous number.

I stopped the “watches over us” deification propaganda from spreading, but I’m just observing the “Mother Tsarina’s Army” one.

We need a large army in preparation for fighting Germany.

“How effective is putting anti-communist ideology in textbooks?”

“The growing students are now beginning to see communists as vermin.”

    “Good. That’s good.”

Trampling on communists. Instilling only such ideology.

    Too harsh, you say?

It’s an act to eliminate communists in the future.

If our Britain or America would do this too, communism would be branded as worse than cockroaches in the future.

Since history has changed because of me, China and North Korea, which would have demonstrated how miserable the end of communism is, will disappear.

Then, what kind of country would a communist state be at that time?

There might be people who try to glorify it.

Just as I preemptively blocked those who would later glorify Makhno, I’m blocking even the thought of communism itself.

    Communist Germany will disappear anyway.

So we need to show that communism is garbage.

“What about proposing anti-communist education to the British side?”

Other countries will all accept it.

Austria, which faces a direct threat, certainly will. They’re maintaining Czechoslovakia, and though Germany has undergone a communist revolution, looking at how they originally claimed in history that they should unite with Germany, there might be some who want to unite with communist Germany.

So, the Anti-Comintern Pact countries need to change from within.

    Providing moderate anti-communist education.

First, there’s the Great Depression, and I plan to use anti-communism then too.

“Britain has already supported Germany, would they do that?”

    “Hmm.”

That’s right. Come to think of it, Britain is quite scared right now.

They’re heavily focused on their colonies.

They wouldn’t welcome red seeds being sown in their colonies.

So they wouldn’t provide education that might provoke communist Germany.

    This is truly the worst.

The hostile countries are now watching out for the Reds.

Can’t they just cleanly abandon their colonies?

No, if they abandon them, communist regimes might emerge.

Communist Germans would certainly establish communist regimes while claiming to help rebuild the nations of the colonies.

    “It would be difficult.”

    “That’s how the British are.”

    Hmm, what about France?

They’ve compromised adequately with Ruhr, so there’s no colonial issue on the surface.

They say there’s no issue, but it will eventually emerge from within.

“Is it worth trying with France?”

“In my personal opinion, they probably won’t accept it either, as they need to appease their own Commune.”

    That makes sense too.

Many things have changed with the emergence of communist Germany.

Thanks to that, many companies have moved to Volga Germany, which is good for us, but it seems there are many problems on the French side.

The war is over, but the damage is great, and although they’re enemies, the current communist Germany is a state that arose after overthrowing the German Empire, which was France’s enemy.

The French government needs to suppress the French Commune, which is rising up with justification to join the other side.

What would happen if they attempted anti-communist education in the midst of this?

Come to think of it, Maria has good intuition.

How did she already make such a judgment?

“You’re right. Maria has good intuition.”

When I spoke with a kind expression, as if I was proud of her, Maria scratched the back of her head and grinned.

“Hehe. It’s all thanks to Your Majesty that I’ve advanced.”

    Can it be considered advancement?

She’s more like an errand girl, close to a secretary, in the Kremlin Palace.

Well, I suppose it’s natural for a poor girl from Yekaterinburg to enter the Kremlin Palace.

Of course, Maria still needs to maintain some formality to stay in the palace.

But since I was originally a commoner living in Hell Joseon, I like someone straightforward like Maria.

“If it weren’t for the citizens of Yekaterinburg, I wouldn’t be here now, so it’s only natural.”

What would have happened if that gamble hadn’t succeeded, and the people of Yekaterinburg had secretly smuggled me out and handed me over to the Red Army, saying “No way!”?

Hmm, but that’s also an interesting scenario.

That would have been an interesting development in its own way.

“But isn’t it good for us that communist Germany was established? Many German companies have entered Volga Germany.”

    “That’s true.”

They’ve also entered Austria. They’ve come here too.

Although communist Germany has become the home of communism, Russia has often benefited indirectly.

Austria has also become stronger with the influx of Germans.

“Your Majesty, Beria from the Okhrana London branch has submitted a report.”

    “I see.”

Although the Okhrana is under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as it’s the Tsar’s secret organization, many reports come here too.

Especially in Beria’s case, he often reports directly to try to get in my good graces.

Looking at the content that came by telegram, it’s simple.

‘I’ve become friends with the pigeon. This pigeon chirps like a sparrow every day. I’ve even memorized all its chirping.’

    That’s roughly the content.

This is like a coded message.

Simply put, the pigeon refers to Frank Whittle, who is making the jet engine, and it means he’s become friends with him.

Chirping like a sparrow probably means he talks a lot.

    It’s probably about the engine.

Being an engine enthusiast, he seems to have confided everything to Beria, who has become his friend and gives him a lot of money.

Well, I’m the one opening that wallet, but still.

Actually, there’s no need to hide it, but the thing is, our people wouldn’t understand the meaning if they heard the name Frank Whittle.

I should reveal it later as a surprise.

But he’s memorized all the chirping?

This seems to have a reason. Could it be that Beria is learning about jet engines?

Is he saying he’ll make a jet engine instead, wanting to look good?

It would be funny if, unlike in actual history, Beria became Russia’s jet engine inventor.

“This man is doing a good job.”

    He’s really doing well.

At this rate, he’ll likely become the head of the Okhrana branch.

Him leading the Okhrana. Hmm, that’s somehow unimaginable.

“But are you going to keep using him abroad?”

Maria tilted her head and asked.

Abroad? Then I should use him as much as possible.

It’s only natural to use a pervert like Beria.

Well, this is because I know the original history.

“The more capable someone is in the Okhrana, the more they should be used abroad. They’ll be excellent at espionage.”

There’s no reason to bring Beria into Russia.

It’s much more beneficial to have him roam around outside than to give him time in Russia where he might cause trouble.

“But what does that pigeon do?”

“Remember the stingray I drew before?”

“Yes, that strangely shaped aircraft, right?”

“Yes, that’s it. He’s the man who will make what goes into it.”

    Maria should know enough.

At least Maria is a witness to the miracle I showed in Yekaterinburg.

I can’t explain in detail because I don’t know the technical terms.

“Is there a possibility? You don’t seem certain, Your Majesty.”

    I don’t know that either.

Even the mighty United States abandoned it due to political and budget issues, only to make it later.

If Russia makes it in this era, it would be like the Nazi’s Ho-229.

“We just need to push in the engineers—I mean, we just need to try it first.”

We need to favor the engineers and half-threaten them to work hard.

A spirit of challenge is important.

We don’t need to make many anyway. It’s for show, and operating a large number of stingrays doesn’t seem stylish.

It would be good to make two or three large ones and fill the rest with other massive bombers.

“I believe Your Majesty has some intention in mind.”

    “That’s right.”

What I’m most looking forward to is nuclear power.

If we can complete nuclear weapons, we can guarantee a definite victory.

If nuclear weapons aren’t made in time, we might need to beat communist Germany with the army, but if we can somehow complete nuclear weapons.

I want to launch nuclear weapons right away.

After all, the Reds are persistent.

Anyway, the legitimate German government, the German Empire government, is in East Prussia.

Berlin is not the capital but is like the Paris Commune.

If Berlin’s destruction can’t be prevented, it would be good to drop a nuclear bomb.

“Your Majesty, Sir Sikorsky from Ilya Muromets Company requests an audience with you.”

    Ilya Muromets Company.

It was created by Igor Sikorsky.

During the civil war, the Russian Imperial Air Force was affiliated with the White Army and created a new air organization, but there was no proper air force commander.

Appointing Igor Sikorsky as the air force commander was a sign of how important aircraft development and the air force were considered.

But as Igor Sikorsky began to focus on aircraft development, it became awkward for him to serve as commander.

I, as the Tsar, became the air force commander, but it was meaningless, so Alexander Mikhailovich Romanov, who had been the air force commander during World War I, officially became the air force commander.

He was Nicholas II’s cousin, so he received relatively less criticism compared to Nicholas II.

Originally, the Romanovs were a criticized imperial family, so he was criticized along with Nicholas II.

As I, as Anastasia, ascended to the throne as Tsar and performed well, the criticism of the Romanovs decreased, and even my parents, Nicholas II and his wife, were reevaluated, allowing Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich Romanov to be appointed as the air force commander.

And so Sikorsky established the Ilya Muromets Company, in which Romanov had shares.

Originally it was the Sikorsky Design Bureau, but it was immediately changed to a company because it had a Soviet feel.

    Now, let’s see Igor Sikorsky.
