Ch.144144. A Feast of Overflowing Rewards
by fnovelpia
If there’s one thing I enjoy most since playing Farming World, it’s reward settlement time.
Whether it’s Farming World, real-world dungeons, or any other game.
The reason we play games is ultimately to get rewards.
People who say “What’s the point of getting bits of data?” probably don’t enjoy games much.
Even though rewards in games are just bits of data, the sense of achievement from obtaining meaningful rewards for a character you’ve invested time, money, and effort into is tremendous, regardless of the reward’s actual value.
So when you think about it, the value of a reward is essentially a measure of how much your effort is worth.
If you get a good reward, even if you invested a lot of time and effort, that time and effort is recognized as valuable.
If you grind for dozens of hours and get garbage rewards, your time and effort weren’t acknowledged.
Meeting the Naru tribe, hunting crocodiles in the swamp, repeatedly hunting blood eels.
In that process, buying and wearing insulated armor sets despite the hassle to hunt more safely, and even custom-ordering a Light Demon Sword—all of these were investments for this moment.
“Happy~ reward settlement time.”
This time, to avoid leaving any leftover progress, I deliberately tried to cover as much area as possible when hunting swamp crocodiles or in the Black Marsh, illuminating the map widely instead of staying in one place. Although the swamp itself is so vast that I haven’t reached 80% completion yet, I’ve definitely uncovered about 40-50%, so with a few more days of effort, I could reach 100%. Well, to get to 100%, I’d need to circle the entire map anyway.
In any case, except for the sub-quest “Novice Explorer,” all quests have been completed.

[Farming Ability +20 Acquired]
[10,000 Farm Acquired]
“Whew… that’s a lot…”
With all quests except achievement quests completed, my quest window looked very clean.
So many rewards came in that it wasn’t easy to organize them.
First, I checked my Farm currency and found I had received 120,000 Farm.
In an instant, I became rich with six figures of Farm, and my Farming Ability increased by 90 points.
With what I already had, that’s 110 total.
With this many points, I could select another SS-grade ability even if not an SSS+ grade.
Since it takes 87 points from F-grade to reach SS+ grade.
I don’t know how many points SSS requires, but even if it’s 10 points per level, I should be able to reach SSS.
Plus, my base expanded by 10P.
SSS+ Grade Ability Selection Ticket x1.
SS-Grade Ability Selection Ticket x1.
SS-Grade Life Skill Selection Ticket x2.
SS-Grade Life Skill Selection Ticket x1.
Life Skill Selection Tickets were exactly what I needed most right now, and it seems I’ve gathered enough from conquering this Level 1 Biome Swamp.
I’m realizing that this map, the Rift Dimension, not only has abundant and rare resources but also gives out so many rewards that you can feel yourself growing faster—that’s its biggest advantage.
Normally in Farming World, there are many stagnation periods.
You have to grind to level up, or when growth is blocked in one area, you craft something else or get items to overcome the bottleneck—that’s part of the charm. But here, there’s none of that; you just keep growing continuously, giving you a constant dopamine rush.
Well, people who prefer building a solid foundation slowly might have mixed feelings about this.
I was one of those people.
As you can tell from how I play vanilla mode like a maniac, I thought the appeal of this game was in overcoming difficult situations through effort and narrowing the gap.
But now I realize I thought that way only because it was the only enjoyment possible in a game without pay-to-win elements.
Reasonable rewards and legitimate dopamine feasts drive people crazy.
Of course, grinding is sometimes necessary in the process.
But hunting blood eels or clearing the Corrupted Forest thoroughly was enough.
“Got 2 A+ grade and 1 S-grade accessory boxes too.”
I already had 2 unopened A-grade random accessory boxes, and now I’ve added 2 A+ grade and 1 S-grade boxes.
I’ll save these for when I need them, along with 5 achievement points and 3 Life Totems to complete my rewards.
Life Totems are structures that, when placed, apply effects to bases within their range, usually providing various benefits useful for farming.
[Life Totem]
– Grade: Rare
– Range: 100P
– Applies the blessing of life to land within range.
– All crop growth speed +20%
– All crop yield +20%
– 1% chance to increase crop grade by +1 when harvesting
With a wide range of 100P per totem, placing all three would apply the Life Totem effect to quite a large farming area.
Well, 300P isn’t that large for large-scale farming, but considering the size of our current fields, it’s enough for all of them to benefit for a while.
“Amazing. Can I use this?”
“Sure.”
Kim Soo-jung quickly took the Life Totems and ran to the fields.
The last remaining reward was the A+ grade dungeon box.
Although it’s rare grade, there’s not much difference between common and rare, so I was just going to empty it to store in the warehouse, but…
“Huh?”
As expected, it was full of useless miscellaneous items.
I was moving them to the legendary box without much expectation when I discovered:
[Guardian Stone (Rare) x250]
“This changes things.”
The box I was about to casually empty into storage was now preciously placed among the collection of dungeon boxes.
This is one of the collection elements in Farming World.
The joy of collecting boxes with designs matching each dungeon’s concept.
Well, there are too many dungeon boxes to physically collect them all, but looking at boxes that embody each dungeon’s concept reminds you of all the adventures you’ve enjoyed. Plus, dungeon boxes are larger and have bigger stacks than regular boxes, so they’re actually more efficient.
“Not bad.”
The rare dungeon box, which seemed to lower the prestige of an A+ grade dungeon with its miscellaneous items, instantly became a “not bad” reward thanks to the 250 rare Guardian Stones.
After all, 250 rare-grade Guardian Stones is more than what you’d get from mining stones for days even at common grade.
These things appear occasionally.
Low-probability resources from dungeon boxes.
Combined with resource deposits and resource rarity, resulting in a quantity of 250 at once.
“What should I enhance?”
Now that I have the Light Demon Sword, I should enhance it first.
While wondering if I’ll need to mine copper like crazy again, my attention turned to the real reward from this main quest—the Corrupted Ring on my finger.
The Corrupted Ring that absorbed the chaos energy from the Corrupted Forest’s tree and now the swamp’s earth dragon.
[Corrupted Ring]
– Grade: S+
– Corruption Level: +1
– A ring made of “Chaos Stone,” condensed chaos energy. It becomes more corrupted and powerful as it absorbs chaos energy.
– Grade and effects increase with each “Main Quest 2” completion.
– Only those worthy of handling chaos energy can wear it.
– All abilities +1 grade
– All elemental damage +50%. All elemental damage reduction +25%
The ring has evolved.
