Ch.143Chapter 143 – The Nun is Sexually Frustrated (1)

After safely entering the village, the carriage rolled a bit further before coming to a stop.

    “Everyone, please come out.”

At Eve’s voice, everyone gathered their belongings and exited. Looking around, I noticed other carriages parked nearby.

“This seems like a pretty large inn. Where are we?”

“This area is frequently traveled by merchants, so there’s an inn operated by the merchants’ guild.”

Eve explained with a smile. It seemed her decision to rest for a day in this village to resupply and gather information wasn’t simply because it was nearby.

“The facilities are quite nice, considering that.”

    “It’s the most luxurious one.”

Having money really is the best.

Together, we took Moo to the stable and entrusted him to the caretaker before entering the inn.

“Since it’s mealtime, shall we eat first?”

She said this because we were only staying at the inn for one day, and our important luggage was still in the carriage, so there was no need to unpack.

Naturally, no one objected, and we headed straight to the dining hall to order food.

“First, I’m thinking we’ll unpack a bit at the inn and then go get supplies. Does anyone need anything specific?”

Eve asked for our opinions while waiting for the food to arrive.

“I don’t need anything in particular.”

    “I don’t need anything either.”

    Christina and I answered immediately.

Eve nodded as if she had expected this and turned toward Sera and Beatrice.

“I’d like to check if they sell any alchemy ingredients…”

    “Alcohol. Tobacco.”

Hearing their requests, Eve fell into thought for a moment.

Then she stopped a passing waiter.

“Excuse me, are there any shops in this village that sell alchemy ingredients?”

“And places to buy alcohol and tobacco?”

Beatrice immediately chimed in after Eve’s question.

She naturally received a slight glare from Eve, but Beatrice pretended not to notice.

    The waiter smiled and replied.

“Yes, we have those, ma’am. Would you like me to draw you a map?”

    “Please do.”

Eve said, placing about four silver coins in his hand.

The waiter smiled, asked us to wait a moment, and disappeared somewhere.

“Then after we finish eating, shall we get supplies first and then go shopping for what each of us needs?”

When Eve suggested this, Sera and Beatrice nodded.

I was about to nod as well when I suddenly looked toward Christina.

She seemed to be hesitating, as if she wanted to say something.

“Christina, do you have something to say?”

    “Ah, not really…”

    Christina stopped mid-sentence.

Then, as if something had occurred to her, she raised her head slightly and carefully began to speak.

“Um, excuse me. After we buy supplies and load them onto the carriage, could I have some free time?”

“I don’t mind, but why do you ask?”

    Christina smiled at Eve’s question.

“I just wanted to walk around the village a bit or visit a general store while we’re resting.”

    “A general store?”

“Yes. I was wondering if I might find something I’m looking for.”

Eve fell into thought at Christina’s words.

“What are you looking for specifically?”

“Well, I don’t have anything particular in mind. I just want to see what they have… something vague like that.”

It seemed Christina didn’t have anything specific she needed but rather just wanted to do some light shopping.

After thinking for a moment, Eve gave her answer.

“I’m sorry, but considering safety, I can’t approve of anyone going off alone.”

    “I see…”

    Christina lowered her head.

Seeing her, I quietly spoke up.

    “Then I’ll accompany Christina.”

    “What?”

    “Oh, why?”

Eve and Sera seemed slightly surprised.

Looking at them, I gave my prepared answer.

“Neither Christina nor I have anything specific we need right now. I’ll just keep her company until you all return.”

I could see Eve and Sera exchanging glances.

Though these two sometimes growled at each other, they seemed to be of one mind now, holding a meeting with just their eyes.

Then their eyes moved to Christina and me once each, before briefly turning to Beatrice.

“…Miss Christina probably won’t cross any lines.”

    “With Chris…”

Even as they said this, they looked at Christina with some unease.

Christina gave them a slightly bitter smile, and Beatrice, watching the three of them, suddenly spoke up.

“If I’m going to choose alcohol, it’s better to have drinking companions. Are the helmet guy and the nun good drinkers?”

    “Not particularly…”

“Kei can’t drink alcohol, so he’s out.”

After hearing Christina and Eve’s answers, Beatrice smirked and said.

“It would just be awkward for both parties if non-drinkers came to a liquor store, so let’s let those two stay together this time.”

Then Beatrice looked at Eve and Sera with a mischievous smile.

“It’s not like anything will happen.”

At her words, Eve and Sera glanced at each other again.

They exchanged looks once more, and after a moment, as if they had reached an agreement, they both nodded.

“In that case, I suppose you can have some free time.”

It seemed permission had been granted.

    “Thank you, my savior.”

    “Don’t mention it.”

Christina expressed her gratitude with a smile, which I accepted lightly.

    This much isn’t difficult.

    “Ah, here comes the food.”

At Sera’s words, we all looked in the direction she was facing, and indeed, waiters were approaching with our food.

“Let’s discuss the details after we eat.”

    Everyone nodded at my suggestion.

After finishing our meal, we quickly left the inn.

Our stay was until tomorrow morning, which meant the sooner we finished our tasks, the more free time we would have.

We entered a fairly large grocery store and took items down from the shelves one by one to pay for them.

However, Eve seemed a bit dissatisfied.

“The prices seem to have risen a bit.”

    “Did we go over budget?”

Eve shook her head at my question.

“Not to that extent. It’s still much cheaper than the maximum budget I had in mind.”

Eve said it wasn’t a significant loss.

“But prices have definitely increased. At this rate, they’ll continue to rise.”

“If we go a few more days from here, we’ll reach Florence or the kingdom, so it might be related to that.”

Beatrice, who had apparently been listening to our conversation, chimed in.

She naturally took out a cigarette but quickly put it back in her pocket with a click of her tongue.

    “Not smoking?”

“Saving it to try the new ones I’m going to buy.”

I smiled lightly as Beatrice spoke, licking her lips in anticipation.

“That makes sense. Perhaps price increases are just beginning.”

Eve said this as she received her change from the store owner.

“Please send our purchases to this inn.”

    “Yes, thank you very much!”

We headed outside, listening to the shopkeeper’s cheerful response.

Then Eve took a piece of paper from her pocket.

“According to the map, the places Miss Seraphina and Miss Beatrice want to visit are nearby.”

    “Then we’ll see you later.”

Beatrice said, pushing Eve and Sera’s backs.

Looking slightly uneasy, Sera and Eve both looked at me at the same time.

“…See you back at the inn, Kei.”

    “Don’t come back too late.”

    “See you later.”

After I answered them, I could see Beatrice dragging Eve and Sera away, seemingly unable to wait for her alcohol.

I waved until the three of them disappeared around the corner, and then turned to Christina, who had been waving alongside me.

    “So, where shall we go?”

“As I mentioned, I’d like to walk around the village a bit and then visit a general store.”

    Christina said with a smile.

“If you’d prefer to rest, you can go back…”

“Better to stay together, just in case.”

Christina smiled at my words, and then suddenly seemed to remember something.

“Will they be alright? I mean, if someone attacks them…”

“They have Beatrice with them, so there’s nothing to worry about.”

In terms of combat ability, there weren’t many who could handle Beatrice.

She could manage most situations, and with Eve and Sera with her, they should be fine.

We began to walk quietly through the village together.

The weather was a bit chilly, but Christina smiled slightly as she watched people chatting happily and walking around the streets.

    “It’s peaceful.”

    “Indeed it is.”

I quite like this sort of thing.

Just casually walking around and taking in the scenery without any particular thoughts.

It felt like all my worries and random thoughts were being swept away.

It seemed Christina felt the same way, as she appeared to be savoring this moment of leisure.

We passed by some children playing soldier games, and Christina smiled slightly at them.

“They look like they’re having fun.”

    “They sure do.”

Christina and I smiled slightly as we watched the children playing with their friends.

As we continued walking, we happened upon a crowd of people and leisurely headed in that direction.

As we approached to see what was happening, Christina exclaimed with delight.

    “It’s a wedding!”

A bride in a white dress and a groom in a suit.

Though not wearing elaborate attire, the clean-dressed couple was in the midst of pledging their love to each other.

And the guests around them were sending their blessings to the couple.

‘Is it okay for us to be here?’

The guests would naturally be acquaintances of the couple, while we were just passing travelers.

I was about to quietly lead Christina away when I noticed something.

    ‘Well, look at that.’

Christina couldn’t take her eyes off the scene.

Her face was slightly flushed, her mouth slightly open.

Her blue eyes remained fixed on the bride and groom.

And just as the bride and groom were about to kiss.

    “Ah…”

Christina brought her hand to her mouth, focusing even more intently on that moment.

    “Wow…”

Looking down at the blushing Christina, I casually asked.

“…Want me to lift you up so you can see better?”

“Huh? What? No, is that necessary?”

Christina said, her face turning red.

Soon, she cleared her throat and said.

“I’m a nun, you know? I sometimes officiate or assist with weddings, so I was just observing closely from a professional perspective…”

Christina was frantically denying it while flustered.

Finding her somewhat adorable, I chuckled and said.

    “You seemed quite interested.”

“No, it’s not that kind of interest, it’s professional interest. Because I’m a nun!”

    “Haha, liar.”

When I laughed and said this, Christina began to lightly flail her arms.

I just laughed as she hit my body with her reddened face.

It didn’t hurt anyway, and I just found it endearing to see this cute side of her.

Meanwhile, the bride and groom began to move toward their new home, greeting the guests, and Christina, seeming slightly tired, exhaled softly and stopped hitting me.

After a moment, Christina spoke up.

“…Actually, I’ve always had a bit of a fantasy about marriage and such.”

    “A fantasy?”

“Yes. I suppose I find it enviable, and I don’t think it’s completely unrelated to me…”

Although she was the youngest in our group, being a year younger than Sera, Christina was clearly an adult.

Marriage and such things wouldn’t be that distant for her.

Then I became curious about something.

“As a nun, aren’t there prohibitions against marriage or something?”

“Some orders might have that, but my order doesn’t.”

    Christina said with a smile.

“So we’re quite liberal when it comes to romance.”

    “I see.”

“Since there are no restrictions on romance, the order’s library has many romance novels that the sisters have collected.”

    “Hmm.”

So women here like those kinds of books too.

I wonder if the three women who aren’t here right now have read many such books.

“And since it’s been a while, I thought I’d check if the general store has any romance novels…”

    “Aha.”

At my response, Christina looked at me as if she had made a mistake.

    “Ah, well…”

Christina began to roll her eyes.

Somehow feeling like teasing her, I approached with a grin.

    “So, Christina…”

Though my helmet would hide it, I approached with a knowing smile.

Christina took a step back, her eyes darting around.

    “…You’re sexually frustrated, aren’t you?”

I meant the desire to read romance novels, of course.

    “…My saviooooor!!!”

Christina’s desperate scream echoed, her face bright red.
