Chapter Index

“Kekeke, sorry. It’s funny that I brought a guest over just to fix a broken door and clean a room.”

“Well, I can’t just sit around doing nothing. Three people working is better than two.”

    Ban Do-young, Do Ha-min, and Ban Si-young.

After this peculiar three-way encounter, the cliché would typically involve a magical scene transition where conflicts between them would either resolve or intensify in an instant.

A clear example would be a cheating husband, his mistress, and the furious wife who caught them in the act suddenly appearing in the next scene sitting calmly together at a coffee shop, drinking coffee with relatively composed faces.

‘Nice to meet you, Scarlet. I’m Do Ha-min’s honey.’

‘W-where did you hear that from?!’

‘Never mind that. Hey, Ha-min. You were supposed to come to our house today. Perfect timing. My room’s door is smashed and everything’s a mess. Let’s clean it together. If we don’t finish before Mom gets back, we’re dead.’

‘W-what happened that broke your door?’

‘Yeah, how did you manage to break it? With that delicate body of yours.’

‘Grr… are you going to tattle to your boyfriend right away?’

‘No, I’m tattling to my girlfriend.’

However, for the three of us, we couldn’t possibly follow such a development.

For Miss Ban Do-young and Si-young, before resolving past misunderstandings with Ha-min,

they had to repair the mess in the house as ordered by Ms. Chuk Jun-sook.

‘Let’s hurry. She said to finish everything before she gets back from shopping. When we’re done, we can have a party too.’

‘W-wait…! I understand, but you don’t need to link arms with me…!’

‘No, I have to. I need to see you fuming behind me, kekeke.’

    ‘Huh…?’

    ‘Grr… Ban the thief.’

‘What are you doing, Scarlet? Hurry home and clean up your mess!’

    ‘Don’t call her that name!’

‘Kekeke, should I call her what I call her at home in front of her short big brother? You wouldn’t like that, would you?’

    ‘Grrrr…’

‘Just follow along quietly. We need Ha-min’s help if we want to finish before Mom gets back.’

And so, bypassing the three-way confrontation at the café, we returned home together.

The entire way back, Ha-min’s right arm was intertwined with Miss Ban Do-young’s.

“I think we’ll finish sooner than expected. Three people really are better than two.”

As soon as we arrived home, Ha-min rolled up his sleeves and started helping with the room cleaning.

With three people working instead of the planned two, the previously stalled work speed picked up again.

“H-Ha-min oppa. I’m surprised you know how to handle tools. When I first met you, I didn’t think you’d know how to do things like this.”

“Ahaha… I live alone with my mom, so I’m the only man in the house. I can’t let my mom handle heavy lifting or dangerous tasks involving nails and screws.”

    “I-I see.”

Surprisingly, Ha-min was quite skilled with tools and repairs.

Due to his family circumstances, he had spent a long time living with his mother in old houses or aging apartments.

Naturally, he had many opportunities to work on various household repairs.

Proving that this wasn’t just empty boasting in front of women,

the door that Si-young had destroyed was back in place shortly after Ha-min opened the toolbox.

“I replaced the bent screws with new ones, but it might feel slightly off. The door itself is warped from the impact.”

“What can we do? Once a virgin is pierced, she can never go back.”

“B-Ban Do-young… your younger sibling is right here…!”

“What were you two just talking about?”

“Nothing… nothing at all. Scarlet, could you bring a garbage bag so I can throw away these sharp pieces from the floor?”

    “Oh, okay, Ha-min oppa.”

Ha-min deliberately changed the subject to prevent Si-young from hearing what was just said.

Maybe it’s because he’s the protagonist of an all-ages webtoon. He’s always been conservative about these things.

Kids these days know all about this stuff by the time they’re in eighth grade.

“There might be broken screws scattered around. Let’s gather them all at once to avoid stepping on them.”

“Got it. I have a broom, so I’ll sweep them all together. When our Scarlet comes back with the garbage bag, we’ll dispose of them right away.”

“Yeah… By the way, what on earth happened to make the room like this…? It looks like a bear or gorilla went through it.”

    -Pfft

I couldn’t help but laugh at his honest and sincere observation.

Not understanding the meaning behind my laughter, Ha-min tilted his head with a question mark floating above it.

“Why are you laughing all of a sudden…?”

“Kekeke, don’t tell our Scarlet what you just said.”

    “D-don’t tell me… all these marks are…?”

Ha-min’s expression stiffened slightly as he looked at the traces of destruction everywhere.

To protect his only sister from getting hurt, I held back my laughter without answering,

    and just nodded.

“I thought so… Scarlet. I knew her physical strength was extraordinary, but this is really something.”

    I didn’t say anything.

    I just nodded.

“Well, the party we planned for today is to celebrate our family’s eldest son’s discharge from military service, with the added celebration of Scarlet becoming the world champion in kendo.”

“That’s too amazing to be just an ‘added’ celebration…?”

Ha-min slightly raised his head to look at the door he had just fixed.

I couldn’t tell if he was surprised by the broken door, or by Si-young coming up the stairs beyond the door.

“Then these slightly sunken marks on the floor…”

“Oh, those were made when our mom slammed Ban Si-young onto the floor.”

    “…Eh?”

“You should be careful too, Ha-min. From what I’ve seen, there are about four gorillas living in this house. Make one wrong move and you might get your limbs torn off.”

“Ha-min oppa! I brought the garbage bag!”

“Oh, look, the flat-chested gorilla is coming up the stairs.”

“Let’s not call family members we haven’t seen in a while ‘gorillas’…”

    “You called me that first.”

With Ha-min solving the biggest challenge of fixing the door,

all that remained was cleaning up.

With three people cleaning a room that was used by Miss Ban Do-young alone,

despite our occasional chatter during the cleanup, the room that had been covered in gray dust and wooden fragments from the door quickly returned to a tidy state.

“Hmm, this should be good enough that Mom and Dad won’t say anything.”

There were still some scratches and damaged spots visible,

but fortunately, the door functioned properly.

The gap was slightly wider, making soundproofing a bit worse,

but Miss Ban Do-young’s room wasn’t that soundproof to begin with, so not much had changed.

It’s a bit concerning that two gorilla family members have been added on either side,

but well, that’s something for the future Miss Ban Do-young to deal with.

“Good job everyone. Let’s put the toolbox back where it belongs and take a break until Mom and Dad get back.”

After placing the toolbox back on top of the cabinet in the office where it belonged,

we decided to take a short break until Mom and Dad returned.

“Whew… moving around made me hungry. Hey, Ha-min. Let’s eat those snacks you brought!”

“W-wait. Didn’t you say the dojo master and Sol-young hyung are coming later? Those are meant as a gift for them, so if we’re going to eat, we should all eat together.”

“Tch, I went to visit you at the hospital alone. Don’t you have anything else? You know, that very important thing.”

    If he’s visiting our house,

no, if he’s coming to see Ban Do-young,

there’s something he absolutely shouldn’t forget.

“Sigh… you mean this? Zero Lime. I thought it would be especially necessary in summer, so I brought it.”

    “Woohoo!”

Ha-min pulled out a cold Zero Cola from his bag, as if he already knew.

To think he’s reached the point where he carries it in his bag without me having to say anything.

It was worth all the gaslighting—no, Zero-liming—I’ve been doing throughout this first semester since being possessed by Miss Ban Do-young.

A boyfriend who always keeps a cold Zero Cola in his bag for his lover.

This must qualify him as a top 0.1% husband material.

If I were Miss Ban Do-young, I would marry him right away.

“Here you go, Scarlet. Aren’t you thirsty? Don’t you like cola?”

    “I don’t particularly like it…”

“Really? Then give it to me, Scarlet. I’m still thirsty.”

“No way! Ha-min oppa gave it to me, so I’m drinking it…!”

Si-young took the Zero Cola from Ha-min’s hand and held it with both hands.

“…Ha-min oppa. Can I ask you one thing?”

    “Hm? Oh, go ahead.”

    “Are you two really dating?”

    -Pukook!

    At Si-young’s sharp-eyed question,

I suddenly spat out the Zero Cola I had in my mouth.

    Oh, what a waste.

“W-why are you asking that all of a sudden…?”

“I clearly remember hearing before that oppa’s girlfriend had done so much for him. No matter how I look at it, our Ban the thief seems far from the girlfriend oppa described.”

“This flat-chested thing has seen me how many times to judge…”

“Fifteen years is enough to know everything about you!”

    “…”

    Ah, we really are sisters.

I got confused because this is the first time I’ve seen her face since being possessed by Miss Ban Do-young.

“Am I wrong? You’ve been bossing Ha-min oppa around since earlier. Making him clean your room, boldly making him bring you cola. It seems like you’re just using the word ‘lover’ to deceive Ha-min oppa and keep him around as your errand boy. If it were me, I would never treat someone I like that way.”

Come on, what kind of delinquent would bring a gift from home when visiting their errand boy in the hospital?

What kind of delinquent would do a full beauty routine from head to toe before meeting their errand boy?

What kind of delinquent would sweetly answer “honey” to a phone call from their errand boy?

“Hey, Ban Si-young, do you know how much I’ve done for Ha-min…”

    “Wait, Do-young.”

As I was about to scold Si-young, Ha-min reached out his hand to stop me from approaching her.

“Scarlet… what would make you believe that we like each other?”

“Yeah, kid. Should we show you a kiss or something? We can’t do more than that because this is rated for all ages.”

“A-are you crazy…? A kiss! That’s something you do after getting married!”

“What are you talking about, girl?”

    Si-young pulled her hips back,

and shouted at me with a bright red face.

I thought kids in eighth grade these days would know about these things,

but despite her sharp fox-like appearance resembling Ban Do-young,

she seemed completely ignorant about romance and sexual knowledge.

This must also be the blessing of all-ages content.

“Then what should we do? Hold hands? Or maybe a free hug?”

“D-don’t take me for a fool! I know that even people who aren’t dating can do that much!”

“Oh my, you’re quite knowledgeable. I thought you were just a gorilla, but you’re a gorilla ready for Planet of the Apes. So what would convince you?”

    “…”

With a flushed face, Si-young approached Ha-min and whispered something in his ear.

After she removed her hand from his ear, Ha-min’s face also began to redden.

“D-do you really want me to do that here?”

    “…If you don’t, I won’t believe you’re dating.”

    “Um… okay.”

Ha-min’s golden eyes flashed toward me, as if he had made some decision.

“W-what? Why are you staring at me?”

“I’m sorry, Do-young. But I told Scarlet before. We shouldn’t deny our feelings. So I’m going to touch you a little.”

Saying that, Ha-min raised both arms and started walking toward me.

    “What… what are you doing?!”

“It might tickle a bit. But please bear with it.”

    “W-wait…! Eek!”

Ha-min’s left arm wrapped around my waist.

    .

    .

    .

“Geez… if you were going to do a princess carry, you could have just said so.”

“P-princess was a bit embarrassing to say.”

    “…I guess that’s true.”

When I came to my senses, Miss Ban Do-young was already being carried in Ha-min’s arms.
